Mrs. Frye was born Aug. 14, 1911, in Laclede County, Mo., to Lewis Preston and Rose Bell James Johnson. She married Daniel Warren Frye on Dec. 20, 1932, in Sayre, Okla. She and her husband and family lived in Shamrock from 1932 to 1962. Leota moved to Amarillo in 1962. She was employed by Colbert's Department Store in Amarillo in the fur department from 1967 to 1988, when the store closed. Leota was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; a daughter, Joyce Elaine Love in 1976; and a son, Douglas Warren Frye in 1983. Survivors include a son, Don Michael Frye and wife, Ruth Ann, of Lewisville; a brother, James Bernice Johnson and wife, Elanor of Lebanon, Mo.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Harris was born July 1, 1912, in Greer County, Okla., and at the age of 12 moved to Spearman. In 1932, he married Helen Oleta McClellan and they moved to Amarillo in 1937. She preceded him in death in 1980. Mr. Harris later married Thelma Jo Burchfield. He worked for Colorado Interstate Gas Co. for 35 years. He was a member of Dumas Drive Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, and a daughter, Freda Jean Harris in 1958. Survivors include his former wife and special companion, Thelma, and her children, Jean Johnson and Lynn Burchfield, both of Amarillo; a son, Jerry R. Amarillo Globe-News, May 28, 2003 Roger Crabtree Roger Crabtree, 54, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 25, 2003. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Oak Dale Grace Fellowship Church. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. St. Mr. Crabtree was born in Cortez, Colo. He graduated from Palo Duro High School, where he had been active in the football program. He started his music career in 1965 playing with the Coachman Band. He was well-known locally and statewide for his harmonica playing. He was one of the original members of Alvin Crow and the Pleasant Valley Boys. He also toured with Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis and played with various blues bands in Austin. Mr. Crabtree worked as a journeyman carpenter in Austin and Amarillo. He returned to Amarillo in 2001. He married Jody Whitten in 2001 in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Justin Crabtree. He moved to Amarillo more than 30 years ago from Borger. He worked as a construction welder for many years. He retired from the city of Amarillo water department in 1993. Mr. Burgin was a lifelong musician and formed his own band, which played throughout the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. He was a member of Pampa Masonic Lodge, Lubbock Scottish Rite and Khiva Shrine Temple. He served as president of the Khiva Western Swing Band in 1991. He married his first wife, Donnie, in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1995. He married Renate Weathers in 1995. Survivors include his wife; a daughter; a son; three stepchildren; four brothers, H.L.
