Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lincoln Street Baptist Church with Rusty Hancock, pastor, and the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church in Clayton, N.M., officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Texline Cemetery in Texline by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Jones was born Oct. 29, 1933, in Ralls, to Troy and Vera Hare Jones. He was raised in Ralls and moved to Texline in 1949. He married Nadine Hanna on Aug. 23, 1959, in Clayton. He farmed in the Texline area all of his life. Curtis had served on the Texline School Board and was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Texline for many years. He moved to Dalhart in 1990 and was a member of Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Dalhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Elbert Jones and wife, Jimmie Kay, of Dalhart and Charles Jones of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Amanda Knight, Christopher Jones, Joshua Jones, Jarred Jones, Adam Jones and Stephen Jones; and four great-grandchildren, Austin Knight, Lexi Knight, Keagan Knight and Bentley Jones. The family suggests memorials be to Lincoln Street Baptist Church Library Fund. Amarillo Globe-News, May 31, 2003 Conrad L. Henderson PLAINVIEW - Conrad L. Henderson, 81, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, in Lubbock. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Lockney with the Rev. Tommie Beck officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney. Mr. Henderson was born March 2, 1922, in Haylake, Briscoe County, to the late Bailey Henderson and Clara Vaughan Henderson. After graduating from Silverton High School, he married Marie Nance in 1942 in Plainview. During World War II, he was a Marine on the USS Intrepid in the Pacific Theater. He married Lee Ella McCasland in November 1989 in Lubbock. He was a cowman, a lifelong Democrat and a member of First United Methodist Church of Lockney. He was preceded in death by his first wife on Feb. 2, 1989; and two grandsons. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don Henderson and Randy Henderson and wife, Nancy Jane, all of Lockney; a daughter, Nancy Henderson of Odessa; a brother, Deanie Henderson of Plainview; two sisters, Oneta Rodgers of Plainview and LaJuan McCormick of Paris; three grandchildren, Chanda Lea Riney, Randi Jo Henderson and Hank Henderson; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Kelton Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mrs. Goldsmith was born to Linda Faye and Thomas Harkins on March 13, 1972, in Wheeler. She was a licensed vocational nurse. Survivors include three daughters, Kristen Garner and Sarah Garner, both of Wheeler, and Elizabeth Goldsmith of Pampa; her parents of Pampa; two brothers, Johnny Harkins of McLean and Wayne Harkins of Erick, Okla.; a sister, Starla Harkins of Pampa; and her grandmother, Zora Harkins of Higgins. Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Bradshaw. She married Claude Arvil Williams on Aug. 12, 1936, in Borger. Survivors include a daughter, Katheryne Johnson of Vernon; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Melba West of Amarillo and Evalyn Adams of Pampa. Mrs. Dawson was born in Atlanta, Ga., to Joe McKinley and Ann Hensen. Her family moved to the Amarillo area while she was small. She was a homemaker. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Word was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Beaver, Okla., to Wade and Edith Loofbourrow. She married Walter D. Word Jr. on June 5, 1954. Mrs. Word loved her church and family. She was an avid bridge player and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; and a grandson, Christopher, in 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Gaylor and husband, Bob, of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Andrea Gaylor of Amarillo; a brother, Robert "Bob" Loofbourrow and wife, Jean, of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Southlawn Baptist Church with Greg Kinch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Van Dell was born in McKinney. He married Carol Stidham in Borger in 1962. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, serving two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the military in 1980. He then worked as a truck driver. In 1989, he became a professional truck operations instructor at TSTC, and taught the advance portion at ATC, where he retired in 2001. He was also a defensive driving instructor for the National Safety Council. Mr. Van Dell was a Christian. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Marie Van Dell in 1987; a sister, Norma Green in 1988; a brother, Darrell Van Dell in 1994; his father, Arthur Van Dell in 2000; a granddaughter, Dana Brooke Van Dell in 2000; and his stepmother, Polly Van Dell in 2003. Survivors include three sons, Tracy Don Van Dell and wife, Amanda, Darrin L. Van Dell and wife, Calandra, and Kevin Bruce Van Dell, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Barbara Johnson and husband, Darrell, of Cypress, Charlotte Doty and husband, Col. James Doty, of Fredericksburg, Va., and Carolyn Lightsey and husband, David, of Benchley; a brother, Mitch Carson and wife, Carol, of Bryan; and 10 grandchildren.
