Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery in Dumas by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Adan was born Jan. 17, 1998, in Dumas. He was a lifetime resident of Etter. Survivors include his parents, Adan and Maria Barron of Etter; a sister, Anahi Barron of Etter; twin brothers, Christoval Barron and Ezekiel Barron, both of Etter; his grandparents, Francisco Najera and Christina Najera, both of Etter, Francisca Flores of Adame, Mexico, and Heriberto Barron of Castaneda, Mexico; his godparents, Victor and Juana Barron of Mexico; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Slaughter moved to Shamrock in 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Shamrock. Mrs. White was a Parmer County resident since 1938, moving from Alba. She attended the Assembly of God Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She married Raymond White on Dec. 16, 1937, in Duncan, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 5, 1995. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Park by Rix Funeral Directors of Hereford. Kimberly was born Feb. 15, 1996, in Lubbock. She had just completed first grade at Richardson Elementary in Dimmitt. Amarillo Globe-News, June 4, 2003 Canyon H.B. Owen H.B. Owen, 86, of Canyon died Monday, April 29, 2002, in Amarillo. Memorial services were held in Lubbock on May 26, 2003. He had dedicated his body to Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Owen was born to Susan and Emerson Owen on Dec. 4, 1915, in Lakeview. He married Dorothy Gazzaway in 1945 in St. Louis, while he was stationed at Scott Field, U.S. Air Corps in Belleville, Ill. He was ordained as a deacon at First Baptist Church of St. John's in St. Louis. He was chairman of benevolence, taught a men's Bible class and directed the adult training union. He moved with his family to Texas to what is now known as Creekwood Ranch and joined First Baptist Church. He taught a young men's Bible class and served in adult departments with various volunteer services. His business and professional experiences included Emerson Electric and Adam's Dairy of St. Louis. He was owner/operator of OK Cleaners of Amarillo. He was a member of Incorporated Warner Seeds of Hereford. He farmed and ranched extensively and was owner of Northcutt and Missouri Properties. He was employed by The Berkeley School District, and was a member of Texas Teacher's Retirement System and a licensed real estate broker. In retirement, he served at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum of Canyon. He was educated at West Texas State University, Hannibal LeGrange University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Extension and Washington University of St. Louis. He was honored by an engraved bench in the Beatitudes section of Memory Gardens Cemetery. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Renee' Brooks and husband, Gary, of Tahoka, Wanda Hendrix and husband, Robert, of Italy; a son, the Rev. Hal B. Owen and wife, Nancy, of Lockhart; a sister, Marilyn Christianson and husband, Don, of Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ahrens was a 1982 graduate of Keyes High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1992, where she worked at several beauty shops. She moved with her family to Roaring Springs when she was 4. She graduated from high school in Roaring Springs. She married Amos D. Persons of Quitaque on June 21, 1941. They resided in Borger until after Mr. Persons retired as district vice-president of Southern Union Gas Co. Mrs. Persons moved to College Station following Mr. Persons' death in 1993. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ethel Long; and three brothers, Thomas Edward "T.E." Long, William B. "Billy" Long and Charles Long, all of Roaring Springs. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors of Amarillo, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Ross was born in Paducah, Texas, on Oct. 8, 1917. She married Frank Ross on March 20, 1935, in Willow, Okla. Emily and Frank were longtime residents of Stratford. "Em," as she was affectionately known, always greeted everyone with a smile and a warm word of welcome. She was a caring individual who took great pride in the ability to make new friends and she treasured the friendships that she established. She was a member of First Christian Church of Stratford. Amarillo Globe-News, June 4, 2003 William Randolph "Randy" Rutherford Jr. DALLAS - William Randolph "Randy" Rutherford Jr., 63, died Monday, June 2, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in North Dallas Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Vic Casad of Christ United Methodist Church and the Rev. Bruce Bradley of Mary Immaculate Church, both of Farmers Branch, officiating Mr. Rutherford was born to Marguerite and W.R. "Bill" Rutherford Sr. on Nov. 22, 1939, in Amarillo. He graduated in 1958 from Blackwell High School in Blackwell, Okla. He received his bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in Canyon in 1964, and received his master's degree in education from North Texas State University in 1990. During his varied career, he was a journalist, owned his own medical staffing services firm, and was a licensed counselor assisting those struggling with substance abuse. As a community journalist, he worked at the Amarillo Globe-News, Daily Oklahoman and Norman Transcript. He also worked in the sports information office at University of Oklahoma in Norman. In 1968, he received a Greer County Service Award and in 1989, received his certification from the Texas Certification Board as an alcoholism and drug abuse counselor. In 1999, the Mental Health Connection awarded him a service and training award. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; five sons, William R. "Will" Rutherford III of Carrollton and fiancee, Katy Langston, of Arlington, Robert G. "Greg" Rutherford and wife, Diane, of Corinth, Mark D. Rutherford, Michael J. Rutherford and wife, Linda, all of Carrollton, and Scott M. Georgia St. Mr. Sanders was born in Amarillo and graduated from Caprock High School. He was a state vehicle inspector in Amarillo for a number of years. He married Karen Goforth in Tucumcari, N.M., on Oct. 8, 1974. They were married for more than 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.K. and Veo Sanders; and a brother, Tom Sanders.
