Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home Ivey Chapel. Mr. Norris died at his residence after a long and hard-fought battle with heart and lung disease. He was born June 23, 1935, in Dickens County. He moved to Battle Creek, Mich., in 1946 and graduated from W.K. Kellogg High School. He joined the Air Force in 1952. He served two tours of duty in England. He was very, very proud to serve his country in the Air Force. He met the love of his life on a double-decker bus in England and married her three months later. He and Agnes Frances Kathleen (Lee) Spellman were married in Ilford, Essex, England on Nov. 12, 1955. He continued to serve in the Air Force in England until he retired in 1966, and they moved to St. Louis, Mo. They moved to Dimmitt in 1967. He worked as an electrician at Amstar Corp. in Dimmitt until he retired in 1981. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved to talk to his sisters every day. He loved horses. He loved to spoil his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thanks goes to Crown of Texas Hospice nurses, Tiffany and Mary for their service and devotion in caring for him this last year and a half. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ellen Carpenter Norris; two daughters, Sally Ann Norris and Linda Kay Norris; three brothers, Floyd Norris, Meddy Norris and Coy Norris; and a sister, Kibby Ling. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Janet Brigance and husband, Dr. Harold, of Canyon, June Norman and husband, Gary, of Dimmitt and Shirley Walker and husband, Charles, of Amarillo; four sisters, including his twin, Clara Vick of Dimmitt, Ruby Craighead and Joy Nolan, both of Amarillo, and Naomi Bonner of Austin; five grandchildren, Eric Ray Mays, Tara Lee Mays, Adam Curry Walker, Brian Scott Brigance and Katie Rae Brigance; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Faith Mays and Mason Ray Mays. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79101. Amarillo Globe-News, June 6, 2003 Kenneth Edward Evans SPEARMAN - Kenneth Edward Evans, 75, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church in Spearman with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mr. Evans was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Margaret, Foard County, to Garrett Edward and Gertrude Banister Evans. He attended high school in Kress and volunteered in the Navy in May 1945, serving for two years at sea as a supply officer. He moved to Spearman in 1949 working as a carpenter with his uncle, John Banister, and Hull Contractors, helping build several homes in Spearman and Gruver, as well as the Methodist Church in Gruver, and First Christian Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Spearman. He married Margarette Wilbanks on June 20, 1950, in Spearman. He and Margarette planned and built their country home in 1963. He was active in community and church activities, and was a member of First Christian Church, where he served on the church board. He was a former Boy Scout leader, president of Spearman Chamber of Commerce, a member of Masonic Lodge 1040 AF&AM and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an acting board member of the Palo Duro River Authority. For many years it was his joy to take his sweetheart of over 50 years out to dine on Saturdays. He also enjoyed growing a 5 to 7 acre field garden for his friends and family to enjoy. He was a loving husband, father and PawPaw. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary L. Evans and wife, Beth, of Cypress and Terrell Evans and wife, Cheryl, of Spearman; two daughters, Cheryl Hill and Mary Anne and husband, Monte George, all of Spearman; grandchildren, Sean, Matt, Chris and wife, Suzanne, of Houston, Christ Miller of Huntsville, Ryan Hill of Stephenville, Shane Hill of Amarillo, and Wade Evans, Megan Evans and Griffin George, all of Spearman. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, May 6, 2003 argaret Ann Durham HEREFORD - Margaret Ann Durham, 100, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003. A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church of Hereford with Rev. Darren Skinner, James D. "Bart" Bartlett, pastor, and Jonny Cloud officiating. The family will have a private burial. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Durham was born Jan. 28, 1903, in Matzalan, Mexico, the daughter of Robert and Mary Matilda Elliott, where they were serving as missionaries. After living in Guadalajara, Mexico City and Durango, Mexico, she attended the University of Texas in Austin and received a bachelor of arts degree from Sul Ross College and a master of education from West Texas State College. Mrs. Durham married James J. Durham on Sept. 17, 1929, in Lockhart, and moved to Hereford in 1949. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served on the board and was very active in church activities. Mrs. Durham taught home economics at Hereford High School from 1954 to 1968, and assisted in initiating the American Field Service Foreign Exchange Student Program. Mrs. Durham also sponsored the Texas Future Homemakers of America, Texas Young Homemakers and was a member of numerous national and state organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971; and four sisters, Mary Stather Thomas, Mildred G. Elliott, Katherine E. Rice and Helen McLarty. Survivors include a son, Dr. James I. Durham and wife, Marlene, of Bryan; a daughter, Mary Stather Bartlett and husband, Doug, of Amarillo; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Gideon's International, Box 703, Hereford, TX 79045; or Wycliff Bible Translators, Box 628200, Orlando, FL 23832. The family will receive friends at 212 N.
