Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger with Spence Moore and Joe Landess officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Mitchell was born in Durant, Okla., and was a resident of Borger for 13 years. He was an operator for Chevron/Phillips and served in the Army Persian Missile Group. Survivors include a brother, Tracy Mitchell of Borger. Amarillo Globe-News, June 9, 2003 Eula Smalley Vick DUMAS - Eula Smalley Vick, 97, died Sunday, June 8, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Mrs. Vick was born to Oliver Franklin and Charity Anne Smalley on Dec. 16, 1905, in Claude. She was the youngest of five. She graduated from Claude High School in 1924 and West Texas State Teachers College in Canyon in 1928. She received a bachelor of science degree in music education. She lettered in four sports while at West Texas and was in the college chorus and orchestra. She met S.P. Vick at Harrold while teaching. They married Dec. 22, 1929, and she continued to teach for seven years. The couple later moved to Dumas where she taught elementary school music from 1948 to 1967. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she was the choir director for many years. The family is especially grateful to the staff of Manor Park Mabee Center for the loving care of Eula. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; two daughters, infant Janice Anne Vick and Kay Vick Brown; two sisters, Lois Stanton and Berry Vaughter; and two brothers, Ivan Smalley and Andrew Smalley. Survivors include two sons, Kent Vick and wife, Susan, of Denver and Dale Vick and wife, Nancy, of Midland; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to Manor Park Mabee Center, Employee Christmas Fund, or to First United Methodist Church in Dumas. Amarillo Globe-News, June 9, 2003 Lillie M. "Pat" Friend STINNETT - Lillie M. "Pat" Friend, 75, died Saturday, June 7, 2003. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel of Dumas with Leonard Harper officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Stinnett Cemetery. Mrs. Friend was born in Caddo Mills and raised in Borger. She had lived in Stinnett for more than 40 years. She had worked as a bank teller for Panhandle Bank and Trust and also had been an employee of the City of Borger. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Fulce of Vacaville, Calif., and Beth Sims of Stinnett; two brothers, L. Ray Patton of Borger and L.M. Patton of Sulphur Springs, La.; three sisters, Meta Bolton and Thelma Cherry Zachry, both of Amarillo, and Mary Lee Weidman of Aqua Dulce; four grandchildren, Brandi Cooper of Dumas, Brittni Mannely of Vacaville, Jeremy Sharpe and Blake Gaddis, both of Stinnett; and four great-grandchildren.
