Yoakum, 72, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with David Milstead and Daryl Tapp officiating. A second service will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home Chapel in Sweetwater. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery. Mr. Yoakum was born Feb. 8, 1931, in Palava, near Sweetwater. He married Loleeta Yoakum on April 11, 1960, in Kenedy. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shari Diallard of Norman, Okla.; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Special Olympics; or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Amarillo Globe-News, June 13, 2003 Amarillo Billy F. Beavers Billy F. Beavers, 79, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 11, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Richards officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Beavers was born in Bailey County, to Jane and Clay Beavers, the youngest of three children. He grew up in Muleshoe and was always telling stories about the hometown people, the swimming pool, his paper routes and the guys in the barber shop. He attended John Tarleton University in Stephenville before joining the Navy. He worked in the fire control division aboard the USS Tennessee. Upon his return home, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He married Betty Gene Fox in Fort Worth in 1958, and they had two sons. The family moved to Amarillo in 1958, where Mr. Beavers was employed as a salesman for Tension Envelope Co. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Beavers; a brother, Spencer Beavers; and a sister, Adella Rockey. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Beavers of Pampa; and three grandsons, Brent and Gary, both of Amarillo, and Daniel of Pampa. The family suggests memorials be to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3402 S. Jackson St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, June 13, 2003 Tonita E. Hedspeth Holt Tonita E. Hedspeth Holt, 91, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 10, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Llano Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Jim Garrett of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Holt was born June 20, 1911, near Taos, N.M. Mrs. Holt, a resident of Amarillo since 1935, passed away June 10. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church since 1944. She was married to her husband, Virgil L. Holt, for 27 years. Survivors include her husband; four sons, John Hedspeth of Tucson, Ariz., Claude Hedspeth of Arlington, Va., Carl Hedspeth of Lago Vista, and Harold Hedspeth of Hemit, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, June 13, 2003 Billy Merle Wilson Billy Merle Wilson, 69, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 10, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Roby. Burial will be in Roby by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Wilson married Dorothy on Aug. 25, 1951. He was a Methodist preacher for 25 years. Mr. Wilson loved working with children and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Essie Mae and Cosese Palmer; and a brother, Elco Wilson. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ginger Born of Guymon, Okla., and Angie Wilson and partner, Sarah, of England; two sons, Troy Wilson and wife, Connie, of Amarillo, and Jack Wilson and wife, Pam, of Wichita Falls; seven grandsons; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ella Rae Carmichael of Dora, N.M.; and a brother, Tommy Wilson of Sylvester. The family suggests memorials be to Camp New Dawn, in care of First United Methodist Church of Roby. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Dean Wynn of St. Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Quitaque. Before retiring she was a dental assistant with the Veterans Administration. She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, on June 26, 1967. Survivors include two sons, Royal Yarbrough of Amarillo and Ross Yarbrough of Bushland; seven grandchildren, Robin Hardin, Melinda Hodson, Aron Yarbrough, Royal Harmon Yarbrough, Glenn Yarbrough, Stephanie Buttrill and Kail Grove; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Kidney Foundation.
