Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the original building of First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites by DAV Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Everett was born in Lometa. He served in the Navy as a radioman on the USS Huse during World War II. He moved to Amarillo in 1951. He owned and operated the Amarillo Horse Auction from 1965 to 1978. He worked as a sales manager at Amarillo Service and Supply and for Amarillo Fire and Safety. He retired in 1995. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church. He was a former member of Will Rogers Range Riders and High Plains Kiwanis Club. He married Maisie McMahan in 1946 in El Paso. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Melody Pinson of Amarillo; a son, Roger Everett and wife, Marilyn, of Yukon, Okla.; a sister, Helen Suter of Carlsbad, N.M.; four grandchildren, Wade H. Pinson III and wife, Amy Rachelle, of Amarillo, Steven J. Pinson and wife, Amy Gwendolyn, of Vilseck, Germany, and Erin Everett and Alex Everett, both of Yukon; and two great-grandchildren, William Xavier Pinson and Victoria Valdez Pinson, both of Amarillo. "Coco" Fuentes, 83, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 12, 2003. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Hector Gallegos, deacon, officiating. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Mrs. Fuentes was born in Adrian, and moved to Amarillo where she lived most of her life. She worked as a nurse at St. Anthony's for more than 25 years. She also worked at Caprock Home Health Care for 13 years. She married David Fuentes in 1938 in Amarillo. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; and two grandchildren, Michael Fuentes in 1986 and Rhonda Hernandez in 1961. Mr. Douglas was a locomotive engineer for Rock Island Railroad. He was a lifetime member of United Transportation and a member of Southeast Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Carrie Douglas; a son, Darrell E. Douglas of Amarillo; a sister, Ethel Penner; and three brothers, Andrew Douglas, Arthur Douglas and Charles Douglas. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Orth was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Kingman, Kan. She married Arthur J. Orth Jr. on April 30, 1949, in Kingman, Kan. Survivors include her husband; three sons, R.L. Orth of Midland, Texas, Don Orth of Elk City and Chris Orth of San Antonio, Texas; two granddaughters; and a brother, George Crumley of Kingman. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Slaton with the Rev. Steve Campbell and the Rev. Kenneth Winchester officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery by Englunds Funeral Service. Mrs. Walker was born July 30, 1921, in Lubbock County. She graduated from Slaton ISD in 1939 and received her BS and master's degrees in education from Texas Tech University. She married Joe S. Walker Jr. on Sept. 10, 1942, in San Antonio. She had been a lifelong resident of Slaton. Maxine taught in Slaton ISD for 23 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and taught Lydia Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Slaton and Lubbock Retired Teachers Association, Slaton Classroom Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpha Sigma Chapter, Kappa Kappa Iota, Daughters of the Pioneer Study Club, Lubbock Women's Club, Slaton's Women Division of the Chamber of Commerce and an avid supporter of Texas Tech Athletics. She was a lifelong learner and traveler and will be missed by our entire community. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1978. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jones of Happy and Catha Maples of North Richland Hills; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hood was born April 14, 1937, in Estelline, Hall County. She was a former resident of Turkey. She lived in Grant Shoals for 11 years before moving to Taylor three years ago. She married J.W. Hood on March 13, 1981, in Tucumcari, N.M. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 19, 2000. Survivors include a daughter, Rieta Starnes and husband, Marty, of Taylor; a son, Kenneth "Bo" Garvin and wife, Vanessa, of Forsan; a sister, Sue Strange of Claude; three brothers, Ray Corgill of Tulsa, Okla., Eugene Corgill of Midland and Jerry Corgill of Levelland; and five grandchildren, Andrew Barry, Adam Barry, Jacob Barry, Joshua Cates and Hanna Cates. Doug Harris, associate pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Meier was born April 3, 1915, in Climax Springs, Mo. He was an equipment operator at Natural Gas Pipeline Co., retiring in May 1979. He was a Dumas resident since 1939. He married Ina Ryan on April 6, 1943, in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Myrt Baugus of Dumas; a son, John Dee Meier of Dumas; a brother, Bill Meier of Raytown, Mo.; five grandchildren, Carlton, Belinda, Cathy, John and Christi; and six great-grandchildren.
