Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Tarkio, Mo. Burial will be in Home Cemetery of Tarkio. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Walker was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Tarkio to Sidney and Irene Walker. On Dec. 7, 1958, he was united in marriage to Loretta K. Flake. To this union three children were born. He worked many years in the Amarillo area as a United States Department of Agriculture meat inspector. He retired from the USDA in June 2000 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panhandle. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Angela East. Survivors include his wife; a son, James Rodney Walker of Plattsmouth, Neb.; two daughters, Cindy Gabel of Panhandle and Jill East of Richardson; a sister, Lila Faulkner of Tarkio; three brothers, Sidney Walker of Cotopaxi, Colo., Marvin Walker of Jefferson City, Mo., and Melvin Walker of St. Joseph, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Slate was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Gouldbusk. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. Mr. Martin was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Rolla, N.D. He had lived in Dumas since 1948. He served in the Army during World War II and retired with Southwestern Public Service as an electrician. He was a member of St.'s Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Mrs. West was born April 17, 1928, in Mineral Wells to Richard and Minnie Ruth Kite Chambless. She was a devoted wife of 57 years, loving mother and grandmother, and a dedicated pastor's wife. Amarillo Globe-News, June 16, 2003 Amarillo Jackie V. Dobson Schwan Jackie V. Dobson Schwan, 83, of Amarillo died Friday, June 13, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery. In the absence of her pastor - the Rev. Frank Williams, of Covenant Presbyterian Church - a lay person will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Schwan was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Frederick, Okla., to William "Bud" Dobson and Julia Parrish Dobson. She was the youngest of 12 children growing up in Oklahoma. Jokingly, however, she would say "I wasn't born in Texas but got here as quick as I could," living her life in Amarillo from young adulthood. On Dec. 24, 1938, she was married to Henry G. Schwan. They had a daughter, Judy, in 1940. Henry later became an Amarillo city employee and fire chief of many years. He went to be with the Lord in May 2001. Mrs. Schwan had a long career with Southwestern Public Service Co. in Amarillo. A faithful wife for 62 years, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and loving friend to many, Jackie left a rich heritage and will be greatly missed. The family and fiends of Jackie V. Dobson Schwan will celebrate her life at a graveside service. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Garrett and husband, Bill, of Grapevine; two granddaughters, Holly Raif and husband, Tony, of Carlsbad, Calif., and Amy Klein and husband, Dana, of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Camryn Klein, and Ethan and Joshua Raif; and scores of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Scott Greer, of Paramount Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Olivier was born Feb. 25, 1925, to Raymond and Jessie Storseth in Amarillo. She lived all her life in Amarillo. She was a member of Paramount Christian Church in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School and then attended Abilene Christian College. She married Danny Olivier on Dec. 28, 1946. She worked for Bell Helicopter from 1975 to 1981. Her joy was her family including her husband, six daughters and sons-in-law, a son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was the center for family love and activity on holidays and birthdays, such as Christmas and Thanksgiving. These holidays were not only times for sharing, but a time for remembering loved ones, also. Her home was always open for anyone who wanted to enjoy fellowship in a family gathering. She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny in 1987; a son, Tony in 1976; and three brothers, Robert, Johnny and S.L. Storseth. Survivors include six daughters, Sandra Whitworth and husband, Denver, of North Richland Hills, Dana Jolly and husband, Mike, of Georgetown, Linda Webb and husband, Billy, of Okinawa, Japan, Mary Petty and husband, John, Cindy Flippo and husband, Charlie, and Patty Thompson and husband, Richard, all of Amarillo; four brothers, Donald Storseth and Eddie Storseth, both of Amarillo, and Billy Storseth and Jerry Storseth, both of Houston; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
