Mrs. Blackman was a surgical technician at North Plains Hospital in Borger. She was a member of First Christian Church. Mr. Littlefield was born Dec. 26, 1913, in Sunset. He married Iva Lee James in Canyon on July 27, 1933. He was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Muleshoe. He lived in the Sudan Community from 1946 to 1953. He lived in the Lazbuddie Community from 1953 to 1979 and lived in Muleshoe since 1979. He was a member of the National Rifle Association of America and a member of the Lubbock and Amarillo Gun Clubs. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Earthman was born June 16, 1946, in Weed, Calif. She met her untimely death in an automobile accident near Coleman on June 12, 2003. She graduated from Palo Duro High School. She was the past president of the Rebekah Assembly of Texas Independent Order of Oddfellows. She graduated from Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing and was in the last nursing class to be taught by her mother-in-law who was instructed by her mother-in-law, Emily Earthman. She married James Earthman in Amarillo on Sept. 8, 1976. She worked for Texas Tech Health Science Center in the William P. Clements Correctional Unit since 1990. She was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since her baptism in 1979 was sealed to her family in the Salt Lake Temple in March 1980. She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Allen Bailey. Survivors include her husband of 27 years; a daughter, Annie Marie Carpenter and husband, Brandon, of Amarillo; a son, Jonathan Levan Earthman of Amarillo; her parents, Edna and Tim Schuster; three brothers, Harris Timmons Schuster III and Terry Schuster, both of Amarillo, and Tony Schuster of Ponca City, Okla.; and four grandchildren, David, Jessica, Elizabeth and Iain. Mr. LaRoe was born March 7, 1933, in Swisher County to Homer and Ethel LaRoe. He married Betty Ashley at Panhandle on May 15, 1968, and they moved to Amarillo where he was employed by the State of Texas as a feed and fertilizer inspector for two years. He then went into the ranch and feedyard business until his retirement in 1992. He was a veteran of the Army. He graduated from Texas Tech University and was a member of the Texas Tech University Block and Bridle Club and Livestock Judging Team, Happy JC's and Church of Christ in Happy. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky House. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Joffa LaRoe of Amarillo and Vicky Heckman of Bushland; three sons, Jimmy House of Dalhart, Laphe LaRoe of McLean and Jerry House of Muleshoe; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Marquis, 82, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 17, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Marquis was born and raised in Cuero. He graduated from Cuero High School in 1939 and was a veteran of the Navy. He married Ruby Kraemer on June 18, 1945, in Beeville. He worked as a salesman and traveled for most of his professional career. He was a musician all his life. He played the trombone in high school, with the Navy as a musician Second Class, and was a member of the musicians union where he played with several dance bands in San Antonio in the 1940s. He moved to Amarillo from Abilene in 1961. He was a longtime member of Polk Street United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the Homebuilders Sunday School class. He was a member of the Palo Duro Masonic Lodge where he received his 50-year pin. He was also a longtime member of the Khiva Shrine Stage Band. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Ann Marquis, in 1953. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Paula K. Berg of Flowermound; a son, Phil Marquis of Amarillo; a sister, Toni Varady of Houston; three grandchildren, Angela Thompson, Laura Smith and Landon Marquis; and a great-grandson, Nathan Smith.
