Survivors include a son, Conrad Mullin of Granbury; two daughters, Beth Mills of Estelline and Margie Edwards of Turkey; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 21, 2003 Barbara Kathryn Jones Lorenz STINNETT - Barbara Kathryn Jones Lorenz, 61, of Gordonville, formerly of Stinnett, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, in Dallas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Riverview Baptist Church in Borger with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor, and the Rev. Perry Forrester, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, Va., officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mrs. Lorenz died unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm Wednesday. She was born May 13, 1942, in McLean. Her family moved to Stinnett when she was 11 years old. She graduated from Stinnett High School and married Kenneth Allen Lorenz on Dec. 19, 1959. They were married 44 years. She attended Amarillo College, where she received her certification of medical transcription. She was a medical office manager at Southlawn Medical Clinic. She sang special music and taught a Sunday school class at Riverview Baptist, where she was a member. Barbara loved playing the piano and organ. She had a green thumb with plants and gardens and enjoyed baking. In 2002, she moved to Gordonville. She was a loving wife, wonderful mom and doting grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Allen Lorenz in 1979; and her father, Sid O'Neal Jones in 1989. Survivors include her husband; her mother, Katherine Johnson of Stinnett; two daughters, Kathi Forrester and husband, Perry, of Virginia and Carol Smith and husband, Dave, of Plano; a son, Ron Lorenz and wife, Gretchen, of Lewisville; a sister, Sidney Glick and husband, Paul, of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Michael Pearson and Richelle Pearson, both of Washington, Ethan Lorenz of Texas, and Cami Forrester, Jesse Forrester, Sommer Speck, Jason Forrester and Mandi Perdue, all of Virginia; and five great-grandchildren, Cody Speck, Jacob Speck, Caleb Speck, Justin Speck and Madison Forrester, all of Virginia. Casket bearers will be Richard Lorenz, Bob Lorenz, Ed Lorenz and Kenneth McCormick. Family visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Brown Memorial Chapel of Stinnett. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home until service time. The family will also receive friends at 321 S. Davis St. in Stinnett. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery in Childress by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mrs. Baldwin married Freddie Baldwin on Feb. 18, 1982, in Childress. She raised her nephew, Kenneth Ray Wooten, and thought of him as a son. Survivors include her husband; and seven brothers, Edwin Smith of Los Angeles, Robert Cannon of Childress, Billy Cannon of Austin, Alexander Sims of Lubbock, Bobby Sims of Dallas, Leslie Sims of Amarillo and Floyd Knight of Lubbock; and a sister, Oreva Phillips of Plainview. Amarillo Globe-News, June 21, 2003 Herman Ochs HEREFORD - Herman Ochs, 93, died Thursday, June 19, 2003. Services will be at 11 am. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Dumas with the Rev. John Wagoner and the Rev. Joe Shultz officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas with Masonic rites by Dumas Masonic Lodge No. 1009. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mr. Ochs was born Oct. 13, 1909, in Hoisington, Kan., the son of Henry and Justina Ochs. He married Alice Murdy on March 4, 1933, in Wichita, Kan. They have been married for more than 70 years. Mr. Ochs retired in Dumas with Southwestern Public Service after 24 years. He was a 50-year member of Dumas Masonic Lodge No. 1009, where he served as a past master and was a past district deputy grand master. He was a member of York Rite, a 50-year member of Dumas Order of the Eastern Star No. 653, adviser of the DeMolay Boys and Rainbow Girls, a member of Dumas Noon Lions Club, a member of United Methodist Men and a member of First United Methodist Church of Dumas. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Ochs and wife, Barbara, of Amarillo and George Ochs and wife, Jo, of Hereford; a daughter, Audrey Powell and husband, Reggie, of Pine Bluff, Ark.; a sister, Helen Klein of Norman, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Lee Ann Bartolino, Robert Lee Ochs, M.D., Raymond Lee Ochs, Rod Powell, Dale Powell, Lesley Haughaboo, Cara Lynn Linker and Jana Leigh Linker; and 10 great-grandchildren.
