Mr. Thompson was born Oct. 12, 1937, in Paluxy. He married Anne Davison on Feb. 14, 1996, in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Benny Thompson of Tulia and Leonard Thompson Jr. of Marshall; five stepchildren, Debbie Jefferies of Olton, and Christine LaDuke, Beverley Haney, John Gravelle and Sean Gravelle, all of Plainview; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. McNeill was born Jan. 4, 1930, in Duncan, Okla., to John Robert and Allie Augusta Block McNeill. He attended Amarillo High and was in the class of 1949. He married Tressa Jeanetta Smith at Clovis, N.M., in 1948. He lived in Amarillo and worked at American Zinc and Refinery. He moved to Wayside, where he ranched, farmed and also owned and operated McNeill Flying Service for a long time. He served on the Happy School Board for several years and was a member of Toastmasters International. He also served as a deacon at University Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mona Hager, in 1987. He was a member of First Christian Church of Stratford. He married Mary Faye Shipp on Nov. 19, 1945, in LaPlata, Mo. He served in the Navy. He was employed by Stratford Body Shop until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a daughter, three brothers and a sister. Jesse Dea, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mrs. Evans was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Hardeman County. She was the daughter of the late Paul Anderson and Lucille Marks Anderson. She married Lilburn Lloyd Evans on Dec. 23, 1941, in Altus, Okla. She was a lifetime resident of Quanah and graduate of Quanah High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Group. She was a retired employee of Leader Department Store. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and a son, Jerrell, in 1999. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Wheeler on Dec. 4, 1921. She married Ernest Lee Brown in Sayre, Okla., on Dec. 7, 1939. She worked for the Borger Independent School District and retired after 20 years of service. After retiring, she moved to Sanford and lived there until 1991, when her husband preceded her in death. Leona moved to Amarillo and was a member of Rebekah Lodge in Borger. Georgia St. Mrs. Pikulin was born March 25, 1931, in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She met and married her husband, Vladimir "Walter" Pikulin at the refugee camp in Trieste, Italy, on Nov. 6, 1950. They came to America in 1951. The family moved to Amarillo when her husband was transferred to Amarillo at the start of the construction of ASARCO's Amarillo Copper Refinery in 1973. Nada was a good wife, good mother, good grandmother, good friend and a good American. Gerald Chadwick of Central Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park East Mausoleum. Mr. Lasley served in the Army in Korea and received a National Defense Service Medal, a United Nations Service Medal, a Korean Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He married Carolinne Barajas on April 17, 1998. They were members of Central Baptist Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers, and his firstborn son Rodney in 1994. Albracht, 87, of Amarillo died Monday, June 23, 2003. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Stephen United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Smith, senior pastor, Craig Albracht and Cory Albracht officiating. Private family burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Dr. Albracht was born in Nazareth and attended Subiaco High School and College. He moved to Hereford where he farmed from 1939 to 1952. He attended Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa, and later transferred to Texas Chiropractic College in San Antonio. After receiving his doctor of chiropractic degree, he returned to Hereford, where he practiced for one year. He then established Albracht Chiropractic Clinic in Amarillo in 1956. He was later joined by several of his sons in the practice. He retired in 1991. While in Hereford, he directed the choir at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for 15 years. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church and a life member of Texas Chiropractic Association. He married Emmarie Hoffman on July 25, 1939, in Hereford. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1976. After her death, he married Mary Jo Martin in August 1976 in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his first wife, and a son, Dr. Rod Albracht. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Dr. David Albracht and wife, Debbie, and Dr. Charles Albracht and wife, Sandra, all of Amarillo, Dr. Coleman Albracht and wife, Trisha, of Sugarland and Dr. Danny Albracht and wife, Kim, of McAllen; a stepson, Gary Martin and wife, Jeanie, of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Gayle Reynolds of Amarillo and Gay Martin and husband, Kevin, of Lubbock; two brothers, Wert Albracht of Hereford and Jerry Albracht of Canyon; two sisters, Emiliene Kriegshauser of Hereford and Rosie Hill of Abilene; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 27, 2003 Dr. Thomas Becton Jones Jr. Dr. Thomas Becton Jones Jr., 79, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 24, 2003. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Dr. Charles Jones, pastor of Second Baptist Church, officiating. Private entombment will be in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum. Dr. Jones was born Aug. 5, 1923, to Dr. Thomas Becton Jones and Pearl Grist Jones, and had made Amarillo his home his entire life. Dr. Jones was a Navy dentist during World War II and the Korean conflict, having graduated from Baylor Dental School in 1944 at age 21. He practiced dentistry for 55 years, retiring in August 2000 at age 77. Dr. Jones loved practicing dentistry and was well loved by his patients, many of whom were loyal from the 1950s until his retirement. He married Juanita Frazier of Dalhart in 1953 at a drive-up wedding chapel. They were married for 49 years until her death in 2002. He loved his wife and family, always putting them first. He was a good husband and a good provider. Dr. Jones introduced Juanita to golf, and both were excellent golfers. They spent many holidays on golf trips, traveling to many different cities and countries to play. He played for years as a "scratch" golfer in his regular game with his many close friends at Amarillo Country Club, and won many tournaments. He enjoyed being teased by his friends, and was an expert at needling them as well. He had a huge heart and a great sense of humor. He was a sports fan, played tennis and basketball in high school, and announced Amarillo College basketball games on television in the 1970s. Dr. Jones was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and was an usher for many years. He had a quiet, strong Christian faith that gave him great strength through adversity and in his final illness. He donated his dental services to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dr. Benjamin Franklin Jones. Survivors include four children, Tom Jones III of Amarillo, Janet Jordan of Dallas, Kay Sutherland of Colton, Calif., and Becky Bianchi of Auburn, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 27, 2003 Elsewhere Marguerite Kile White HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Marguerite Kile White, 85, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, in Seal Beach. Services were already held. Arrangements were by Heritage Memorial Services. Mrs. White passed peacefully knowing that she should soon join her loving mother, Frances, her husband, Brady, and other members of her family who preceded her. She passed her last hours with love at her side, and nothing left unsaid. Her lively view of life, her joy at spending time with friends, and her optimistic take on the world around her made her life memorable to everyone lucky enough to know her. She will be missed, but mostly remembered fondly because of her unique ability to see the best in any of life's encounters, and to always provoke a smile on the face of her companions. Marguerite grew up in Amarillo, Texas, but lived in Houston for most of her life. Her last years were spent caring for her mother in Seal Beach. In each of those places, and in all places in between, she made lives a little brighter for everyone as she shared her energy and love of life. The best of her will live on through her family. Rest in peace, sweet lady, the love remains forever. Survivors include a son; a grandson; other family members; and her many friends.
