Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Llano Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Jim Bankhead, the Rev. Murray Gossett and Joe D. Taylor officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Vandale, born in El Paso, on Dec. 29, 1930, had lived in Amarillo most of her life, except for a 14 year period between 1951 and 1965, when she lived in New York City. She attended the Hockaday School for Girls in Dallas, returning to Amarillo, where she graduated from Amarillo High School in 1948. She attended the Sarachon-Hooley Secretarial School in Kansas City, Mo., from which she graduated with honors. She attended University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a social sorority and its Alumnae Association and graduated from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She worked for First National Bank of Amarillo from 1965 until her retirement in 1986. She was a vice-president in the commercial loan department. She was a member of National Association of Bank Women and Banker's Wives. She served in the United Way citizen's budget committee for six years and as its president for one year. She served on the boards of United Way, Amarillo Little Theater, Llano Cemetery, Opportunity School and was listed in Who's Who in American Women. Additionally, she was a participant in the Second Leadership in Texas Class. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo. Mrs. Vandale married John J. Vandale on March 2, 1985. Survivors include her husband; a brother, Allen Dawson Jr. of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Presbyterian Children's Home; or a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, June 30, 2003 Jon Lancaster Jon Lancaster, 43, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 26, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Terrace Cemetery in Post. Mr. Lancaster graduated from Amarillo High School in 1977. On March 20, 1998, he married Debbie Wilds. He owned and operated Lancaster's Lawn Service. He was a collector of pocket watches, was an avid sports fan, chess player and loved being outdoors. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Lancaster in 2000; and two infant brothers, Jon Warren and Ronnie Jack Lancaster. Survivors include his wife; a son, Clint Lancaster of Amarillo; two stepsons, Austin Lilley and Taylor Lilley, both of Amarillo; a brother, Dr. Kevin Lancaster of Conroe; and his mother, Juanita Lancaster of Amarillo. Biddulph Donald R. Biddulph, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, June 29, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bob Thomas, chaplain of Crown of Texas Hospice, officiating. Military rites will be by D.A.V. Chapter No. 26. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Biddulph was born in North Umpstead, Ohio, and had been a resident of Amarillo for over 60 years. He worked for American Bakeries and after his retirement he worked for River Road Independent School District and retired from there in 1985. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Biddulph of Azle; a daughter, Donna Bass of Amarillo; a sister, Louise Guild of Florida; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 30, 2003 Area Dolores McInturff DUMAS - Dolores McInturff, 80, died Saturday, June 28, 2003. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel in Dumas with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McInturff was born Jan. 23, 1923, near Neosho, Mo. She was a longtime resident of Dumas from 1949 to 2002. She retired from the Dumas Memorial Hospital after 22 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Claude A. "Whitey" McInturff on Jan. 25, 1949, in Bentonville, Ark. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years; a sister; and a brother. Survivors include three sons, Ron McInturff and wife, Jennie, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Herb McInturff and Dan McInturff and wife, Cory, all of Dumas; five grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, Kaegan, Audi and Rochelle; and two great-grandchildren, Hogan and Gracen. Survivors include her mother and father of Plainview; her grandparents, Roy and Mary Rodriguez and Juan and Diana Guezman, all of Hereford; two brothers, Ezekiel Guezman and Jacob Guezman, both of Plainview; and a sister, Alyssa Guezman of Plainview. Amarillo Globe-News, June 30, 2003 Elsewhere Alfred Angelo Brittian WICHITA FALLS - Alfred Angelo Brittian, 67, died Thursday, June 26, 2003. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Quitaque. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery of Quitaque by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Brittian was born to Preston and Elminer Brittian on June 25, 1936, in Center. He was educated in the public school system in East Liberty. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Wichita Falls under the leadership of the Rev. Billy J. Robertson. He was employed for 18 years by E.L. Bruce Lumber Co. in Center. He worked in construction up until he became disabled. He was never short of a good story. He was married to Melba Clardy Brittian for 18 years and to this union 10 children were born which developed into a lifetime friend. He later married Margie Tansey in 1986 who was a devoted wife and his best friend. Mr. Brittian was a man that had a laugh that stole the heart of many. A page turned; a race well run; a rest well earned; and soldier gone home. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother; three brothers, Claude Brittian, Johnny Mack Brittian and Otis Brittian; and a sister, Faye Dell Stanberry. Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Judy Bradley, Sandra Sims and April Brittian, all of Lewisville, Wanda Brittian-Cunningham and Renette Coleman, both of Carrollton, and Mell Brittian of Colleyville; four sons, Terry Brittian and Paul Brittian, both of Lewisville, Ronald Brittian of The Colony, and Claude Wayne Brittian of Virginia Beach; a stepson, Larnell Tansey of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Patsy Lomax and Shirley Booker, both of Killeen; three brothers, Elray Brittian of Crockett, Debron Brittian of Sacramento and Floyd Brittian of Venice, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; four sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
