Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Frith retired from the Amarillo Public School System. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Amarillo. She married W.W. "Curly" Frith on Sept. 16, 1933. She moved to Amarillo in 1954 from Borger. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002. Survivors include two sons, Jack Frith and wife, June, of Plano and Pat Frith and wife, Deanie, of Borger; a daughter, Peggy Foster and husband, Van, of Borger; two brothers, James Woodruff of Arlington and Kenneth Woodruff of Wolfe City; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Shaha, 84, died Thursday, July 10, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Dumas with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Shaha was born March 6, 1919, in Dalhart. He had been a Dumas resident since 1950. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Juanita Elizabeth Beck on Sept. 21, 1941, in Clayton, N.M. He was a member of Dumas Masonic Lodge No. 1009 where he served as a past grand master and past district deputy grand master. He was a member of the Dumas Noon Lions and Golden Spread Scottish Rite clubs. He was a maintenance field supervisor at Colorado Interstate Gas. He attended Texas Tech University. Survivors include his wife; two sons, William E. Shaha and wife, Susan, of Burleson and James D. Shaha and wife, Dianne, of Gainesville; a daughter, Betty M. Spann and husband, Dale, of Mukilteo, Wash.; two sisters, Genacile Jackson of Clayton and Nadine Roberts of Springer, N.M.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was an avid golfer and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert; two daughters, Bette Gene Newfield of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Sue Ann Schieda of Dallas; a son, Robert E. Bell St. Dr. Pierce married Mildred Naomi Gilmore on June 4, 1949, in Olathe, Kan. He was a practicing radiologist at Southwest Osteopathic Hospital from 1981 to 1989. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 S. Paramount Blvd. Mr. Brownlee was born in Amarillo and grew up in Borger. He managed the M.E. Moses Co. in Borger for seven years. He attended Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock and preached full and part-time in several towns. He received his master's degree in social work in 2000. He had been a social worker. He married Lola Willmon on Jan. 31, 1969, in Borger. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Brownlee; and two brothers, John W. Brownlee and Thomas R. Brownlee. Survivors include his wife, Lola; his father, W.S. "Bill" Brownlee of Borger; two daughters, Freda Allison George of Houston and Leslie Dawn Nelson of Cherokee; two sons, Julian Andrew Brownlee and James Alexander Brownlee, both of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Matthew and Aaron George and Elias, Audrey and Rheanna Brownlee; and several nieces and nephews. Prayer services will be at 7:30 p.m. today in St. Hyacinth's Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with Bishop J. Yanta, the Rev. Pat Carathers, Bishop L.T. Matthiesen and attending priests officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 S. Paramount Blvd. Sister Nellie was born in Cheney, Neb. Upon learning about the needs of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Amarillo, she responded to God's call, joining the Franciscan Sisters on Oct. 30, 1936. We praise and thank God for her life and for all she contributed to our community, the Diocese, the church, her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Theresa Rooney; two brothers, Jim and Neil Rooney; and a sister, Monica Burns. Survivors include her religious community of Franciscan Sisters; a niece, Janeen Rooney Powers; six nephews, Neil Rooney Jr., Tom Burns, Pat Burns, Bob Burns, John Burns, Mike Burns and their families; and many grand-nephews, nieces and cousins. She lived in Tucumcari, N.M., from 1946 to 1974, El Paso from 1974 to 1980, Portales, N.M., from 1980 to 1997 and in Amarillo from 1997 until present. She was a homemaker. She married Enrique "Henry" Simon Mirabal on Feb. 5, 1946, in Santa Rosa and together they had 12 children. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons. Survivors include her children, Louisa Dolly, Carol Mirabal and Raymond Pacheco, Mary Ellen Mirabal, Anton and Yolanda Apodaca, Jimmy Mirabal and Jerry and Jody Mirabal, all of Amarillo, Henry and Sylvia Mirabal of Lubbock, Eddie and Merlinda Mirabal and Richard and Ann Mirabal, all of Albuquerque, N.M., and Johnny and Sylvia Velasquez of Portales, N.M.; a brother, Rudy Montano of Amarillo; 29 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home of Amarillo, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Nichols was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. She was a homemaker and co-owner of High Plains Building Co. for several years. She was a member of Women in Construction and Faith Community Church in Canyon. Mrs. Nichols was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Nichols in 1981, and a sister, Joy L. Washburn in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, T.D. Nichols of Lubbock; three sisters, Sue Hernandez of Amarillo, and Margie Totty and Dorothy Bondelie, both of Napa Valley, Calif.; three brothers, Jerry Bowers of Sacramento, Calif., and Mike Bowers and Max Bowers, both of Napa Valley; and three aunts, Margie Crumbaker of San Leon, and Ruby Hayhurst and Levonne Gilbert, both of Amarillo. Wood Auditorium in Clayton with the Rev. Dale DeRaad, Chuck Buchanan and Doug Murray officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Shannon was born Sept. 28, 1911, in Wanette (Seneca), N.M., to Samuel Albert Price and Minnie May Ley Price. She was a telephone operator for the Big Spring Community from 1939 to 1960. She wrote the Big Spring news column for the Union County Leader from 1924 to 1994. She married Vernon L. Shannon on April 15, 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 6, 1987. Survivors include a sister, Molly Anna Hess of Vale, Ore.; a brother, Clark Price of Muleshoe, Texas; a stepdaughter, Margaret Singletary of Albuquerque; five nephews, Jon Price, Jim Price, Joe Price, Arnold Price and Bud Miller; and two nieces, Joy Blubaugh and Rose Groves.
