Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with the Rev. James Ivey Edwards, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Mrs. Chamberlain was born Dec. 13, 1908, in Stamford. She was a former resident of Claude and then Amarillo before moving to Carrollton three years ago. She married Benjamin Emory Chamberlain on May 20, 1944, in Amarillo. She attended West Texas Teachers College (now WTAMU) and taught school for several years in Ashtola, Chamberlain and Claude. She had worked in the Armstrong County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office and for the Armstrong County Agent for several years. She was a member of the Armstrong County Business Women's Club and the Senior Citizens Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Claude and had previously served as church secretary for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 4, 1976. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Benese Scherrer of Boulder City, Nev. and Prarie Counce of Carrollton; seven sisters, Jewell Stewart, Irene Jones and Betty McElvoy, all of Amarillo, Ailene McElroy of Clarendon, Ruth Riley and Dorothy Adamson, both of Dewey, Ariz., and Johnnie Adamson of Bakersfield, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel in Pampa with John Love, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Mr. Thompson was an Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He had lived in the Panhandle area most of his life. Survivors include a son, Robert L. Thompson of Las Vegas, N.M.; three stepsons, Bill McPherson of Fairborn, Ohio, Jimmy McPherson of Elk City, Okla., and John McPherson of Lake Palestine; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Ortega was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Colorado City. He married Enriqueta Gayton in 1984 in Terrington, Wyo. Mr. Schwab was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Perryton. He served in the Navy during World War II, aboard the USS Macinac. She was the contractor for the Santa Fe Railway taxi service. Mrs. Clark was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, the Wild Rose Club, a doll collectors club and Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Clark in 1989. He was a country and western musician, playing in the "Jimmy King and the Country Classics Band." He played in area clubs for more than 30 years. He was a Baptist. He was a veteran of the Army. He married Anne Barnett on Oct. 22, 1986, in Clovis, N.M. Georgia St. Mr. Bates was born in Amarillo on Aug. 6, 1932, to Boyd and Lee Ora Bates. He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. He spent the last 25 years working in Amarillo in automobile sales and the floor covering business. He married Patsy Goodwin Franklin on Oct. 8, 1981, in Amarillo. He loved golf and camping with his wife and the Good Sams Club. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Neil Bates. Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 17, 1942, and was a lifetime Clovis resident. She was a member of First Church of God in Christ. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in North Street Church of Christ with Mike Jeffress, Bill Sherrill and Dorian Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Pinegrove Cemetery by Laird-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. McMorries was born in Beaumont on Dec. 8, 1954, daughter of Robert and Alice Ruth Bodemuller. She grew up in Nederland and graduated from high school there. Susan attended UT in Austin and UTMB in Galveston, where she received her registered nurses license. She was a neonatal outreach nurse for Scott and White Hospital before she and her husband moved to Nacogdoches in 1981. She was a member of North Street Church of Christ, a full-time mother, homemaker and an avid "soccer mom" with all her children. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband, Kim; three children, Kyle Patrick McMorries, Ryan Glenn McMorries and Anne Elyse McMorries; and her mother of Nederland. Pallbearers will be John Bob Cody, Mike Cotton, Bailey Nations, Jim McReynolds, Danny Shull, John Stanaland, Ken Warlick and Lynn Warthan.
