Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Batman was born March 14, 1921, in Bloomer, Ark. She had been a Dumas resident since Jan. 12, 1946. She married Aaron Batman on Nov. 5, 1945, in Tulsa, Okla. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. She worked for Moore County in the district and county clerk offices in the 1960s. She and Aaron made several mission trips overseas with World Evangelism. She served in the WAAC during World War II. She was owner and operator of a real estate company. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Pete Caton. Survivors include her husband; a son, Steve Batman and wife, JoAnne, of Dumas; three sisters, Dorothy Jean Graham of Midwest City, Okla., Grace Hall of Tulsa and Mildred Stillwell of Barling, Ark.; a brother, Grady Caton of Inola, Okla.; a granddaughter, Heather Goodwin and husband, Greg; a great-grandson, Jonathan Goodwin; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 615, Dumas, TX 79029; or Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second Ave., Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 115 Carson St., in Dumas. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church with Joe G. Jernigan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Hobbs had lived in Shamrock since 1974. He was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Van Zandt County to Nathan and Allie Hobbs. He married Betty Billingsley on Nov. 29, 1958, in Amarillo. He had owned and operated Hobbs Earth Moving since 1972. He was a veteran, having served in the Army Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Baptist Church and American Legion. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell Hobbs and Billy Ray Hobbs. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Hobbs of Shamrock; two brothers, James Clifton Hobbs of Amarillo and Harold Gene Hobbs of Shamrock; three sisters, Marie Lister of Shamrock, Mary Pence of Amarillo and Wilma Holley of Claude; and three grandsons, Chris Hobbs, Johnathan Hobbs and Jeremy Hobbs, all of Shamrock. Mrs. Meador was born Nov. 16, 1893, in Aurora. She was a schoolteacher. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Wheeler Church of Christ with Dr. Shawn Johnson, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin was born to Louis and Annie Miller Sivage on May 4, 1907, in Morgan Mill. She came to Wheeler County with her family in a covered wagon in 1922. She attended Corn Valley School. She married Pyrmon A. Martin on Aug. 7, 1925, in Corn Valley. She was a member of the Wheeler Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Louis; four brothers; three sisters; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include two sons, Happy Martin and wife, Nora, of Farmington, N.M., and Bob Martin and wife, Elaine, of Wheeler; a daughter, Ida Mae Goad of Wheeler; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Martin of Shamrock; a sister-in-law, Audie Sivage of Mobeetie; four grandsons; four granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Amarillo Globe-News, July 17, 2003 Elsewhere Michael James Anderson GREELEY, Colo. - Michael James Anderson, 34, died Saturday, July 5, 2003. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Byron, Ill. A celebration of Michael's life will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Byron immediately following the services. Mr. Anderson was born April 20, 1969, in Belvidere, Ill., and graduated from Byron High School in 1987. He received a degree in agriculture from the University of Illinois in 1992. He lived and worked in the Champaign, Ill., area until he moved to Kersey in 1997. He was employed in Kersey as the feed mill manager for National Hog Farms for the next three years. In 2000, he went to work for Cargill, becoming the manager of their mill in Amarillo, Texas. Michael returned to the Colorado area he loved in November 2002, where he was establishing his own carpentry business. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He felt his life was coming together since his return to Greeley. He was enthusiastic about his work and the opportunities opening up for him. He was at peace with his life's decisions and lived each day to the fullest. He died in a river tubing accident in the company of his friends doing what he loved most. He was preceeded in death by his grandmother, Marilyn Fayram Neumeister; and grandfathers, Leslie E. Neumeister and Edward J. Anderson. Survivors include his parents, James W. Anderson and Vicki L. Neumeister VanCleve; two brothers, CWO David E. Anderson and wife, Dana, stationed in Hawaii and Corbin G. Anderson and Jennifer Gonzalez of Rockford, Ill.; his grandmother, Guinevere L. Anderson of Belvidere, Ill.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mr. Donaldson was born May 25, 1962, in Canadian to William and Kay Jones Donaldson. He attended Allison schools and lived in Allison all his life. He married Dawn Holbrook on May 25, 1979, in Allison. He was a rancher. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Allison and Christian Life Fellowship. Survivors include his wife; a son, Monty Donaldson of Allison; two daughters, Darla Donaldson of Amarillo and Katie Donaldson of Allison; his parents, Bill and Kay Donaldson of Allison; his step-grandmother, Nona Jones of Allison; a brother, Allen Donaldson of Katy; a sister, Jackie Lewis of Panhandle; and nieces and nephews. Amarillo Globe-News, July 17, 2003 Hartie Webb Moore SAN ANGELO - Hartie Webb Moore, 101, died Monday, July 14, 2003. Memorial Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Mrs. Moore was born June 10, 1902, in Evansville, Tenn., to H.D. Webb and Mattie Mize. She married Achilbald Eugene Moore in February 1925. She was a homemaker most of her life, and also worked for Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene and Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. Hartie loved to work in her garden and was known as "Mom" to all of her friends. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephen Smith, Dr. Preston Darby, Vista Care Hospice, Regency House, and Frank and Marty at Community Pharmacy. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, H.E. McCoy; and a grandson, Frank Kantro. He was a professor at Texas Tech University of Lubbock, Texas, and the University of Colorado in Denver.
