Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Perryton Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Sally Jo Boyd officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. DeWitt was a service coordinator in the oil fields. He was a Mason and a charter member of the Waka Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Melissa Balzer and Brandy Williams, both of Perryton; five brothers, Ron DeWitt of Pampa, Mike DeWitt of Lake Texhoma, Okla., Calvin DeWitt of Portales, N.M., J.W. Amarillo Globe-News, July 18, 2003 Carla Mynear WHITE DEER - Carla Mynear, 44, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, in Pampa. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of White Deer with the Rev. Monty Kreis, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Colorado City, and the Rev. John Collis, pastor of First Baptist Church of Ozona, officiating. Burial will be in White Deer Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Miss Mynear assisted her uncle Frankie Kreis at White Deer Feed. She was a member of First Baptist Church of White Deer, where she taught Sunday School since 1978. Survivors include her parents, Carl and Nell Mynear of White Deer; three sisters, Kim O'Connell of Grape Creek, Kandy Bolding of Midland and Patti Parks of White Deer; and her grandmother, Eunice Hurst of Wellington. Amarillo Globe-News, July 18, 2003 Gilbert Jacob Carl Schueler RHEA - Gilbert Jacob Carl Schueler, 82, died Monday, July 14, 2003, in Homelake, Colo. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rhea Cemetery with Dave Symm, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lariat, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Schueler was born May 25, 1921, to Herman and Emma Schueler in the Rhea Community in Parmer County. He served in the Army during World War II and was wounded twice, once during the Battle of the Bulge. He returned to farm in Texas after the war. He farmed, ranched and owned a feed store until 1969, when for family health reasons they moved to the San Luis Valley of Colorado. He continued to farm, ranch and sell farm equipment south of Alamosa until he retired. He had been a resident of the Colorado State Veterans Center since suffering a stroke in 1990. He married Wilma Annetta Fehr on July 30, 1950. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1979. Survivors include four sons, Daniel Schueler and wife, Cynthia, of Clovis, Calif., Darrell Schueler and wife, Kerry, of San Diego, David Schueler and wife, Lynn, of Seattle and Douglas Schueler and wife, Shannon, of Wilmington, N.C.; four daughters, Deanne Elliott and husband, Thad, of Monte Vista, Colo., Doris Schueler and husband, Dave, of Broomfield, Colo., Darlene Schueler of Chicago and Denise Cordivano and husband, Mike, of Lincoln University, Pa.; a sister, Velma Schlenker of Rhea (Friona); two brothers, Walker Schueler and wife, Martha, and Herbert Schueler and wife, Cecelia, all of Rhea; 12 grandchildren, Kelsey, Darcy, Connor, Kara, Emily, Carrie, Laura, Tammy and husband, Jim, Dina, Jacob, McKenna and Jordan; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hailey, Krystal and Christina; a brother-in-law, Melvin Fehr and wife, Sandy; three sisters-in-law, Treva Fehr, Dorothy Fehr and Alice (Fehr) Conrade; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tobin lived in Follett all of her life. She worked at Follett National Bank as a teller and bookkeeper for 26 years. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Bedwell was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Center Point, Ark. He married Lois Louisa Morrison on Dec. 25, 1935, in Turkey. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gerald Bedwell; two stepsons, Joe Offield of Plainview and Joy Offield of Ardmore; three sisters, Ruby King of Quitaque, Opal Broxson of Lake Texhoma and Ima Jean Bethel of Lamesa; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Bliss married Edward N. Bliss in 1931 at Fall River, Mass. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was past president of the Altar Society and chairman of the Ave Maria Circle. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Penny Barnes of Phoenix; a son, Paul E. Helmly, 81, of Amarillo died Wednesday, July 16, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano Garden Mausoleum with the Rev. Marvin James officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Helmly was a graduate of Southwest Texas State University and a staunch patriot. She married the love of her life, Tom Helmly, in 1942 at Randolph Field Chapel in San Antonio. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a loyal supporter of her family, a volunteer in the community and most of all, a generous and loving wife and mother. Dell, early on the day of her death, had been doing the things she loved, tending her plants with her loving husband of 61 years. She lost her battle with heart disease, but left a lifetime of love, support and teaching to those who knew her. Survivors include her husband; a son, Reed L. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Williams was born Feb. 18, 1923, to Oral and Willie Williams. He married Anna Gressett on June 29, 1942, in Fort Sumner.
