Howard Lockhart Sr. PAMPA - T. Howard Lockhart Sr., 90, died Saturday, July 19, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Glen Walton, minister of Bell Avenue Church of Christ in Amarillo, and Fred Anderson of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Lockhart was born April 22, 1913, in Higgins and was reared on family ranches near Higgins and Pampa. He attended Amarillo schools and was a 1932 graduate of Amarillo High School. He married Margaret Davis on June 26, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. He was the son of Panhandle pioneers Charles Howard "Carl" Lockhart Sr. and Elizabeth Mariah "Lizzie" Kennison Lockhart. He was a longtime Gray County resident with ranching interests in Hemphill County and Beaver County, Okla. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pampa Country Club and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 3, 2000; four brothers, Bob, Carl, Ben and Albert Lockhart; and a sister, Murl Kenyon. Survivors include two sons, Tom H. Lockhart of Pampa and Bill Lockhart and wife, Laura, of Dallas; a granddaughter, Logan Lockhart of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 203 N. West, Pampa, TX 79065; or to Pampa Senior Citizens, 500 W. Francis St., Pampa, TX 79065. Amarillo Globe-News, July 21, 2003 Steven "Steve" Rawson TULIA - Steven "Steve" Rawson, 43, died Sunday, July 20, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Rawson married Sheri Henry on Dec. 27, 1977. He was assistant district commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, Haynes District. Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel Rawson of Tulia; a daughter, Tabitha Rawson of Tulia; his parents, Jessie and Ed Rawson of Tulia; a sister, Elizabeth Thompson of Tucumcari, N.M.; and a grandson. The family suggests memorials be to Boy Scouts of America. Amarillo Globe-News, July 21, 2003 Joe Heathington Sr. TULIA - Joe Heathington Sr., 81, died Saturday, July 19, 2003. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Heathington married Hazel Frazier on July 23, 1944, in Clarendon. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Heathington Jr. of Buffalo Gap; three sisters, Mary Harman of Tulia, Evone Holland of Amarillo and Nell Baldwin of Abilene; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. "Popeye" Ford, 70, died Saturday, July 19, 2003. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. I.L. Patrick, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Ford was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Pampa where he was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean conflict. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; three daughters, Della Pace of Clayton, N.M., Alice Jones of Shattuck, Okla., and Teresa Ford of Pampa; two sons, Johnny Ford of Abilene and Wesley Ford of Canton; a brother, Ben Ford of Pampa; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Roy Almaroad, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Bob McAlister, pastor of First Baptist Church of Channing, officiating. Burial will be in Hartley Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mrs. Vincent was born Nov. 21, 1911, near Hardesty, Okla., to Joseph and Pearl Northup Lamkin. She married Roy Vincent on Sept. 13, 1931, in Channing. Survivors include two sons, Bon Vincent of Dalhart and Pete Vincent of Hartley; a sister, Ruth Forehand of Meeker, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 21, 2003 Almaree Williams STRATFORD - Almaree Williams, 90, died Friday, July 18, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Farney, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Williams was born April 15, 1913, in Toyah. She was a homemaker and had lived in Stratford since July 1994. She married Homer L. Williams on July 10, 1930. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 14, 1999. Survivors include a son, James E. Williams and wife, Elizabeth, of Los Lunas, N.M.; a daughter, Jeane Marshall and husband, Gene, of Stratford; three sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Ruth Morton, both of Big Spring, and Jessie Kinney of Springdale, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Second Ave., Dumas, TX 79029. Amarillo Globe-News, July 21, 2003 Amarillo Ruth Tow Ruth Tow, 62, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 17, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Bobby File, pastor of Evangelical Fellowship Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Miss. Tow was born in Canyon. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1978 and back to Amarillo in 1995. She most recently worked at Caprock Home Health but had worked for many years as an electrical parts rebuilder. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Tow in 1974; and a sister, Jean Campsey in 1995. Survivors include three brothers, I.J. Tow, Frank Tow and Max Tow, all of Amarillo; four sisters, Patsy Voyles of Malakoff, Mary Hancock of Eustace and Sybil Woods and Shirley Moore, both of Amarillo. Amarillo Globe-News, July 21, 2003 Robert M. "Bobby" Vaughan Robert M. "Bobby" Vaughan, 53, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 12, 2003. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cox Funeral Home, Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with the Rev. Rusty Dickerson, of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. Vaughan was born and raised in Amarillo. He was a 1968 graduate of Tascosa High School. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and was the only male student in his graduating class at Amarillo College, School of Nursing, in 1990. He worked as a registered nurse at the Clements Unit. He was a musician and played the bass guitar in bands for many years. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife. Survivors include a son, Dylan Mason Vaughan of Mansfield; two brothers, Thomas R. "Tommy" Vaughan of Amarillo and Stephen D. Vaughan of Granbury; and a special friend, Patti Patterson of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center.
