Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Philip Elsheimer, pastor of Calvary Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Elsheimer was born March 3, 1920, in Moline, Kan., and had been a resident of Pampa since 1938. He was a veteran of the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Elma; a daughter, Linda Keahey of Pampa; a son, Richard Elsheimer of Moore, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Panhandle with the Rev. Bill Fuller, pastor, and the Rev. Charles Wyatt of Claremore, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Whitehead was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in youth mission trips. Survivors include his wife, Jo; two sons, Justin and wife, Bonnie, of Pampa and Shawn of Panhandle; a brother, Paul Harmon of Del Rio; and a granddaughter, Hailee. Amarillo Globe-News, July 28, 2003 Amarillo Florence "Mama" Tarr Florence "Mama" Tarr, 89, of Amarillo died Friday, July 25, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with Richard Dickerson, pastor of Bykota Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Tarr lived in North Dakota before moving to Amarillo in 1949. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, H.W. Tarr; two sons, Jim Tarr, and wife, Mandy, of Amarillo, and Bobby Tarr and wife, Janet, of San Diego; a brother, Gene Childs of Colfax, N.D.; six grandchildren, Carrie, Justin, Troy, Kevin, Magan and Jeremy; and four great-grandchildren. Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Bray was born in Clarendon and moved to Amarillo in 1994 from Bismarck, N.D. She was a homemaker. She married William Bray in 1969 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Allen Jr. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Brenda Goetz of Temple; three sons, Bruce Lemons, Brad Lemons and Michael Bray, all of Fort Worth; four sisters, Charlett Geopfert of Amarillo, Peggy Sandefur of Pampa, Sandy Carter of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Josephine Allen; a brother, Jimmy Allen of Pampa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 28, 2003 Robert "Bob" Stephen Thomas Robert "Bob" Stephen Thomas, 67, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 26, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Southlawn Assembly of God with the Rev. Jerad Middaugh and Jerald and Janice Middaugh officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Thomas was born in Anderson, Ind., and moved to Amarillo in 1974. He married Linda Moyer on Dec. 30, 1971. He served 21 years and retired first sergant in the Marine Corps. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars receiving the Purple Heart. He retired as human resource manager at Baptist St. Anthony's in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ann Thomas; and two brothers, Bill Thomas and Gene Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Linda; six sons, Keven and wife, Florence, of Wilmington, N.C., Kris and wife, Sherry, of Birmingham, Ala., Kory of Daleville, Ind., Jimmy and wife, Dorrane, and Ronnie and wife, Jennifer, and Eddie, all of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and loving friends. Henderson, 66, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 26, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor, and the Rev. Doak Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Henderson was born and raised in Morton and was a graduate of Morton High School. He was a veteran of the Army. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1957. He married Marilyn Vaught in 1963 in Amarillo. He worked for Pantex for 23 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was an usher and worked with the E.S.L. (English as a Second Language). He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife; a son, Todd Henderson and wife, Melissa, of McKinney; two daughters, Melissa Brown and husband, Gary, of Pampa and Pamela Taylor and husband, Doak, of Crowley; a sister, Velma Lightfoot and husband, J.W., of Emory; and six grandchildren, Travis Brown and Connor Brown, both of Pampa, Peyton Taylor, Holden Taylor, Dillon Taylor and Haven Taylor, all of Crowley. Amarillo Globe-News, July 28, 2003 A.T. Burks A.T. Burks, 94, of Amarillo died Friday, July 25, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with J. Alan Ford, senior pastor of Southwest Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Burks was born in Dumas on Sept. 9, 1908, to Thomas Frank and Viva Vashti Burks. He married Anna Elizabeth Burch on Oct. 20, 1939. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Texas machinery and Plains Machinery. He retired from Plains in 1975. He farmed for himself and others until he was 82 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Gregoris and husband, Steve, of San Antonio, and Wanda Caudy and husband, Bill, of Amarillo; two sisters, Tolene Fuller of Albuquerque, N.M., and Anna Faye Thompson of Bartlesville, Okla.; five grandchildren, D'Anna Hale and husband, Billy, of Borger, April Cates and husband, Mike, B.T. Caudy and Julibeth Title and husband, David, all of Amarillo, and Christy Beavers and husband, Chad, of Hereford; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. The family will be at 5318 W. 42nd in Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice.
