Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Silverton High School Auditorium with Jess Little, Joe Howard Williamson and Randy Mulin officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Cogdell was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Childress, to David Munsey and Johnnie Kate Cogdell. He married Bette Barnes on Sept. 29, 1961, in Tulia. He was a rancher in Briscoe County. He was a member of Vigo Park Methodist Church. He was a member of the NCHA and the AQHA. He was a past director of the NCHA and was a Hall of Fame member in the NCHA. He received the Foy Proctor Memorial Cowman Award and the National Ranching and Heritage Award. He was preceded in death by a brother, D.M. Cogdell Jr.; and two sisters, Joni Sue Stiff and Martha Ann Cogdell. Survivors include his wife of Silverton; a daughter, Penny Lee Carpenter and husband, Kent, of Silverton; three sons, Billy Rank Cogdell and wife, Toy, Dick Munsey Cogdell and wife, Kippi, and Jim David Cogdell and wife, Pam, all of Silverton; 10 grandchildren, Cooper, Blaze, Ruder, Rowdy, Candy Cate, Harlee, Riley Bill, Lucchese, Colton and Cash. The family suggests memorials be to Billy Cogdell Memorial Scholarship Fund; Silverton Cemetery Fund; or a favorite charity. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Borger Church of Christ with Stan Mitchell and Jake Sebastian officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wylie Cemetery in Wylie by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Lehr was born July 12, 1921, in Mount Vernon. She was a homemaker and attended Monroe Street Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Don Farrington of Borger; a brother, Harley Reese of Ralls; a sister, Earlene White of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Weaver was a Dumas resident since 1949, moving to Las Cruces in 1993. She was a beauty operator. She was of the Methodist faith. She was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Coryell County. She married M.R. "Buck" Weaver on March 17, 1945, in Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988. She was a student at Thunderbird Elementary, where she was about to enter the fifth grade. She moved to Amarillo in 1963. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996. Survivors include a son, Alex Alvarez of Fort Worth; a daughter, Eunice Alvarez of Dardanelle, Ark.; four sisters, Elizabeth Bueno of San Marino, Calif., Dina Bower of Louisville, Ky., Mary Ann of Fort Worth and Rebeca Guajardo of San Antonio; two brothers, Manasses Lopez of Houston and Jonathan Lopez of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rodriguez was a homemaker her entire life. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Chavez of Amarillo; five grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Teresa Rodriguez, who was her caregiver for the last four years; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ms. Fisher was born in Portales, N.M. She moved to Amarillo in the early 1950s from Clovis, N.M. She worked for Maywood for 12 years until 1995. In 1997, she went to work for Amarillo Independent School District until June 2003. Ms. Fisher was a member of Christian Heritage Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, James Srader and wife, Deborah, and Lee Srader and wife, Tracy, all of Amarillo; a sister, Faye Maddox and husband, Dave, of Gordonsville, Va.; three grandchildren, Tommy Srader, Melanie Holten and Jason Lee Srader, all of Amarillo; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Holten and Brakiah Holten, both of Amarillo. Burgy, 80, of Amarillo died Monday, July 28, 2003. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Burgy was born in New London, Conn., and graduated from high school in Peoria, Ill. He also graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., and was a veteran of the Navy. He married Betty Batchelor in 1968 in Amarillo. Mr. Burgy was a resident of Amarillo for many years and was involved in the investment business until his retirement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Marion Clayton Burgy of Wilmington, Del.; and several nieces and nephews with whom he was very close. Mrs. Simmonds was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Wellington, Texas. She married Frank Simmonds on Feb. 7, 1941, in Mountainair, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a son, Loren Simmonds of Lynnwood, Wash.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
