Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ with Chuck Ball and Dean Wiseman officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Scott was born Oct. 25, 1905, in Abilene. She attended Draughons Business College in Abilene after high school. She married Joe M. Scott on Sept. 29, 1929, in Big Spring. The family moved from Bradshaw to Plains in 1950 and then to Castro County in 1953. She and her husband farmed and ran cattle in Castro and Parmer counties until his death in 1985. She remained active in the cattle and farming operations with her son until her death. She was a Christian first and very active in her church. She spent a lot of time visiting shut-ins in the community. Survivors include a son, Ben G. Scott and wife, Mollie, of Dimmitt; a sister, Melba Mahaffey of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren, Krystal and Robert Nelson, Anessa and Cody Myrick and Ben G. Scott Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Klay Clearman, Holly Myrick, Morgan Nelson and Tristan Nelson; and a host of friends and neighbors. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in United Methodist Church of Follett with the Rev. Daryl Wynn officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla. Mrs. Wynn was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Follett. Survivors include a brother, Orville Sperry of Follett; a sister, Velma Heil of Follett; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Quanah Church of Christ with Glen Walton officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Chism was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Acme. He served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Dorris; two sons, Jim Chism of Bentonville, Ark., and Jerry Chism of Amarillo; three brothers, Royce Chism of Irving, A.W. Miss Adams was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Armstrong County. She took care of the elderly for years. Hughes St. Mrs. Brewer was born and educated in De Port. She attended Amarillo College and Tulsa, Okla., Cosmetology School. She was an Amarillo resident for more than 20 years and a member of North Heights Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Archie; a sister, Ollie D. Lofton of Tulsa; a brother, the Rev. Georgia St. Mr. Meek attended public school in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He then attended Amarillo College, West Texas State University and a Bible college in Fort Worth. He loved to play chess and was a passionate book reader and collector. He was a computer enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Meek; and a sister, Sharon Meek. Osage St. Mr. Bell was born in Thayer, Kan. He moved to Amarillo in 1997 from Corsicana. He lived in Dodge City, Kan., for 30 years. He worked for several off-shore drilling companies and also for Foley Tractor Co. in Dodge City, Kan. He married Jonel Bratton Decker in Woodville in 1966. He was affiliated with Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco with Dr. Steven Masen, pastor of Central Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Lewis was born in Carbondale, Ill., and raised in Waco. Her father owned the Compton Funeral Home there. She earned degrees from Baylor University and Southern Methodist University. She moved to Kansas City where her husband, Eugene A. Reeves, M.D., practiced medicine. He preceded her in death. Several years later she married Wilbur V. Lewis. After his death, she moved to Amarillo. Survivors include a daughter, Jean C. Reeves of Amarillo; a son, Dr. A. Compton Reeves of Prescott, Ariz.; four grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 31, 2003 J.H. "Monk" Hughes J.H. "Monk" Hughes, 77, of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 29, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Hughes was born in Hamlin and was a 1945 graduate of Amarillo High School. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marine. He married Jackie Nell Hamrick in 1949 in Amarillo. He was a conductor for Santa Fe Railway for 31 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993. Survivors include a son, Mark Hughes and wife, Amy, of Amarillo; two daughters, Mandy Crutchfield and husband, Randy, of Bushland and Tammy Hughes of Amarillo; and four grandchildren, Branden Hughes, Jarred Hughes, Katelyn Crutchfield and Benjamin Crutchfield. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco with Dr. Winfred Moore officiating. Burial will be in Waco Memorial North by Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey of Waco. Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Anson to Boone and Inez Johnson Gause. She finished high school at Anson. She met and later married the Rev. B.L. Davis in Abilene on March 28, 1941. She graduated from Howard Payne University in 1955 with a B.S. degree in elementary education, and taught first and third grade for 25 years. She traveled with her husband to several countries to do Flannel Graff Bible stories to little children in their language during his crusade engagements. She was a member of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church of Waco. Honorary pallbearers are Doak Taylor, Doug Taylor, Davis Taylor, Danny Howe, Ralph Rummage, and James Bart. Survivors include her husband of 62 years; a daughter, Dian Taylor and husband, Don, of Waco; a son, Mike Davis and wife, Mary Kay, of Austin; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Burial will be in Campo Cemetery of Campo by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City, Okla. Mrs. Litke had spent most of her life in Baca County. She was united in marriage to Lib Litke in Clayton, N.M., on Sept. 30, 1948. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ray Litke of Wichita, Kan., Donald Davison of Fredericksburg, Texas, and Tommy Litke of Springfield; two daughters, Joyce Moses of Boise City and Kay Little of Clayton; a sister, Francis Brown of Walsh; two brothers, Benjamin Miller of Albany, Ore., and Howard Miller of Sweet Home, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
