Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Country Estates Community Center of Amarillo. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Linda was born as Linda Leath Baker on June 24, 1945, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Alvin and Aleath Baker. Linda was married to Jerry Bergeron on April 23, 1965. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren. Linda and Jerry moved to Amarillo from Sioux Falls, S.D., in July 1998 to be closer to their children. Jerry is employed at BSA and Linda was a full-time homemaker and grandmother. Linda will always be fondly remembered as a wonderful mother with many gifts. She was unmatched in her ability to spoil her six grandchildren as is easily demonstrated by the fruits of her hands. Her hand quilted baby blankets bear the action filled images of Batman lovingly crafted for her rambunctious grandson to more tranquil Precious Moments scenes and even the comical likes of Sponge Bob for her granddaughters. Linda's ability to cook up a storm made her queen of the kitchen. It is the holiday table that will be noticeably sparse without her famous calico corn and raisin glazed ham. Holidays for her family, friends, and even passing acquaintances are changed forever. You see, Linda reached out to even strangers inviting them in to the warmth of her home. And even these passing acquaintances were, if even for a brief moment, part of the family. If love and the ability to give are measures of greatness, Linda was the greatest. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Bob, Al, Jim, Harlan, and Roger.
