Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Chuck Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Kemper was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend. Survivors include her husband, David G.; three daughters, Kelly Kemper of Reinhardt and husband, Jason H., Kathy K. Perry and husband, James B., and Katie K. Kemper; three grandchildren, Wylie, Sadie and Coleton Reinhardt, all of Amarillo; her father, Edward J. Walls and wife, Peggy, of Cordova, Tenn.; her mother, Marjorie W. Walls of Rowlett; three brothers, Corky Walls and wife, Peggy, of Rowlett, Tom Walls of Wichita Falls, and Bruce A. Walls and wife, Barbara, of Plano; a twin sister, Nancy C. Fudge and husband, Ron, of Taos, N.M. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 5, 2003 Ron Ketchum Ron Ketchum, 51, of Amarillo died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wellington with the Rev. Joel Stafford, pastor of 11 Street Baptist Church in Shamrock, and the Rev. Lanny Ketchum officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Ketchum served as a military policeman in the Army in Vietnam. He married Melanie Hood on Feb. 7, 1974, in Las Cruces, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Earl Ketchum of Amarillo; two daughters, Mida Bias and Kory Strange, daughter of Holli and Lynn Hamby, both of Amarillo; his mother, Mary Galbreath of Shamrock; two brothers, Randy Ketchum of Amarillo and Danny Ketchum of Shamrock; two sisters, Evelyn Kingston of Middlebrook, Fla., and Mary Lynn McMasters of Pottsboro; and three grandchildren. Bell St. Mrs. Scott was born March 19, 1925, in Hartley. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School. She worked for Loewenstern Realty as a bookkeeper for 30 years. She had lived in Amarillo for about 33 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Walter Scott of Orlando, Fla., and Marshall Kent Scott of Phoenix; a daughter, Linda Lou Scott of Lubbock; two sisters, Helen Aikins of Lefors and Marion Louise Williams of Canyon; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Funck was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Dimmitt. She married David H. Funck on Nov. 25, 1955. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert Funck of Amarillo and Jerry Funck of Lubbock; five grandchildren; a sister, Zella Wilson of Dallas; and two brothers, Elbert Smith and Wesley Smith, both of Dimmitt. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 5, 2003 Marvin Sears DALHART - Marvin Sears, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Christian Church with Barry Walker, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Sears was born July 8, 1919, in Nardin, Okla., to Benjamin and Norma Austin Sears. His family moved to the Conlen Community where his father farmed. Marvin graduated from Dalhart High School in 1937 and went to work for Ford Motor Co. in Dalhart. Marvin began working for Rock Island Railroad before he joined the Army during World War II. Marvin served in the South Pacific Theater and received a Purple Heart when the ship he was on was torpedoed near the island of New Caledonia. After the war, Marvin returned to Dalhart and continued working for Rock Island for more than 40 years. He trained appaloosa horses and won the National Cutting Horse World Championship with his horse named Chief Leader. Marvin was a member of First Christian Church, XIT Rangers and Dalhart Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah; and a sister, Vona Jean Sears. Survivors include his special friend, Nancy Woods; six stepsons; and numerous first and second cousins. She was a member of Spearman Church of Christ. She was a past worthy matron of the Spearman Order of the Eastern Star No. 721. She was a member of the Arts and Crafts Guild, Dahlia Flower Club and Golden Spread Senior Citizens Center. She married Ned Turner on July 26, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; and her parents, Oscar and Alma Branch. Survivors include two sons, Bill Turner and wife, Lil, and Loyall Turner and wife, Ginger, all of Spearman; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 5, 2003 Ashia Chiffon Phillips MCLEAN - Ashia Chiffon Phillips, 75, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel in Pampa. Mrs. Phillips was a nurse's aide at Senior Village Nursing Home in Perryton, retiring after 15 years of service. She was a waitress for many years at The Ranchhouse and Dutch Inn restaurants. Survivors include a son, Steve Phillips of Pampa; two daughters, Linda Smith of Perryton and Patricia George of Enid, Okla.; three brothers, Mike Hitchcock of Mountain Grove, Mo., Joe Hitchcock of Oregon and Perry Hitchcock of Arkansas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 5, 2003 Estelle C. Rogers WAYSIDE - Estelle C. Rogers, 70, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wayside Community Church with Kyle Brock, Methodist minister of the church, and the Rev. Byron Williamson, Baptist minister of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Rogers was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Amarillo to Asa and Elsie Patterson Wilcox. She married C.D. Red Rogers in Amarillo in 1961. She was a longtime resident of Wayside. She was active in Wayside Home Demonstration Club, Wayside Community Church and a member of Ye Ole' Squares. Estelle was a bookkeeper, homemaker and was a loving mother and an exceedingly devoted grandmother. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jean Payton; a granddaughter, Kim Watson; and a grandson-in-law, Chad Smith. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Kent Scroggins of Wayside, Bill Scroggins of Amarillo and Bruce Scroggins of Grandview; two daughters, Kytrena Tuttle of Spring and Kiska Reynolds of Enterprise, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Church of The Nazarene. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery by Swan Law Funeral Directors. The daughter of William and Rebecca Davenport, Mrs. Anderson was born June 28, 1940, in Boyd, Okla. She grew up in Texline, Texas, and graduated from Texline High School in 1958. She married Gene Anderson on May 27, 1961. She and her husband pastored churches for almost 30 years in Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and in Texas. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Everyone loved May. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leon and Bill; and a sister, Mary Ellen Stephens. Survivors include her husband; daughter Tammy May Kiger and husband, Gary; a son, Mark Allen Anderson and wife, Katie; four grandchildren, Morgan and Brett Kiger, Mark Allen II, and Michael Davis Anderson; four sisters, Anna Lou King of Haines City, Fla., Laura Sue Lucas of Dalhart, Texas, Bonnie Jean Stroupe of Montgomery, Ala., and Dorla Dean Lutz of Las Vegas; two brothers, W. Franklin Davenport of Colorado Springs, and the Rev. James Davenport of Granbury, Texas. May touched so many lives in so many places. Her family loved her very much and will miss her so. Mrs. Moss was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Altus, Okla. She married Clarence H. Moss on Nov. 30, 1946, in Memphis, Texas. Survivors include five children, Bob Moss of Lakewood, David Moss and Mary Moss, both of Canon City, Nancy Young of Encinitas, Calif., and Carol Wrede of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth Wilkinson of Shamrock, Texas, Murdice Hill of Hedley, Texas, and Jo Henry of Chattanooga, Tenn.
