Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro with Austin Ryan of Copperfield Baptist Church in Houston officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro by McNett Funeral Home. Mrs. Christman was born Dec. 28, 1910, in Grayson County. She married Fritz Christman on Aug. 27, 1932, in Durant, Okla. Survivors include a daughter, Lois Ketcham of Andrews; a son, Paul Christman of Tyler; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Home Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston St., Odessa, TX 79762. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 9, 2003 David Watkins MIDLAND - David Watkins, 49, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland with the Rev. Glenda Harbert officiating. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory. Mr. Watkins was born Jan. 3, 1954, in Huntsville. He attended school in Tahoka, Lamesa and Amarillo. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1972. While in high school, he studied guitar and became an acclaimed performer and guitarist. He played a lead role in "Li'l Abner." David attended West Texas State University for two years and played with the band there for the pageant "Texas" before coming to Midland. In Midland, he taught guitar at both Midland College and Odessa College. Among his notable performances was an appearance with the Midland Odessa Symphony at the request of Ferranti and Teicher. He also played background music for Ken Kercheval, of the cast of "Dallas," when he performed a reading at a local charity event. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reba Watkins, and an infant son, Andrew Wade Watkins. Survivors include his father, Howell Watkins of Midland; a stepbrother, Ron Watkins of Carlsbad, N.M.; and a sister-in-law, Anita Watkins of Weinert. The family suggests memorials be to David Watkins Music Scholarship Fund at Midland College, 3600 N. Garfield, Midland, TX 79705. Leonard Forsythe, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Acker was born March 30, 1945, in Franklin County. He was a member of VFW No. 1789 and Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Pat; a son, Paul Acker of Longview; a daughter, Mary Dechambeau of Stafford, Va.; two brothers, Dan Acker of Mount Pleasant and David Acker of Jackson, Miss.; and two grandchildren. Hubbard, 69, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, in Albuquerque, N.M. Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in First Christian Church with Jim Howard of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Hubbard was born Aug. 15, 1933, in Panhandle. He was a state trooper at Dumas from 1956 to 1960, and a senior staff tax agent for Gulf Oil. Survivors include his wife, Marlene; a son, Kent Hubbard of Tomball; a daughter, Kathy Knight of Fallon, Nev.; two sisters, Darlene Sparks of Wichita Falls and Mary Lee Wersonick of Corpus Christi; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
