Mrs. Taylor was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Boonsville. She married Melvin Thomas Taylor on March 5, 1949, in Boone County, Mo. The couple moved to Amarillo in 1952, when Mr. Taylor was stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base. Following his death in 1961, Mrs. Taylor became a hairdresser until her retirement 22 years later. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Chi and Fannie (Koeninger) Franklin; and a brother, Pete Franklin.
