Bob Meller, former pastor of First Baptist Church in Mobeetie, officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery. Mr. Mixon was born Nov. 15, 1910, in Ravia, Okla. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mobeetie. Survivors include three daughters, Juanell Brooks of Amarillo, Bobbie Burchfield of Oklahoma City and Jerry Meller of Mobeetie; a son, Leonard Mixon of Tishomingo, Okla.; a brother, Marion Mixon of Lovington, N.M.; a sister, Jo Gales of Elk City, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Main Street Church of Christ with Glen Walton officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Turley was born April 21, 1935, in Memphis to the late Irvan Morris and Lola Imogene Caldwell. She married Roy Turley on June 14, 1952, in Amarillo. They moved to Lockney from Amarillo in 1968. She worked as the Lockney Junior High School secretary until she retired in 1994. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Lockney. Survivors include her husband; a son, Troy Turley of Plainview; a daughter, Kelly Pachiano of Lockney; a brother, Jerry Caldwell of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Wagner attended school at Lonetree, south of Booker. He played guitar and sang in a band that played for dances in homes. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Thirzy E. Wagner; his wife, Frankie Kile Wagner in 1980; and a brother, Mart Wagner. Mr. Clark was born in Childress and had been a resident of Amarillo for many years. He was a veteran of the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Clark in 1982. He married Kelly Rogers in 1985 in Amarillo. Mr. Clark was a commercial paint contractor in Amarillo for many years. He was owner of Tri-State Paint for many years as well as Clark Painting. He was a Baptist. The greatest joy in his life was being a dad. The family would like to offer a special thanks to dear friends Arthur and Marilyn Hammond, Sally Cox and Wayne and Jean Barberie. Hudspeth, 86, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in Green Hill Cemetery in Muskogee, Okla. Arrangements were by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Hudspeth was known to family and friends as "Blackie" and "Dub." He was born to W.R. and Bertha Hudspeth in Whitesboro on July 28, 1917. He was raised in Muskogee and played high school football for Muskogee Central High School. W.R. graduated with the class of 1936 and went on the play football with the Northeastern State Redmen, Talequah, Okla. He married Lillian Anne Leaird in 1938. W.R. was a squadron commander in victory field in Vernon and later was a pilot for a private airline. In 1948, he moved to Amarillo to work for Firestone Tires. In 1958, he began working for Conley-Lott Nichols Machinery Co. and remained with them as sales manager until retirement in 1982. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends and remembered for his generosity and willingness to help when his family was in need. Survivors include a sister, Betty Cooper of Muskogee; his children, DiAnn Bunnell of Garden City, Kan., Gary Hudspeth of Amarillo and Lisa Giesey of Friendswood; four grandsons, Michael Hudspeth, Matthew and James Giesey and Jim Wallace; a granddaughter, Lisa Wallace; and two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Sarah Wallace. Mr. Newton was a conductor for the Santa Fe Railway for 40 years. He was co-founder and first president of Santa Fe Employees Credit Union in Amarillo, a member of United Transportation and 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, a director of Adult 6 Sunday school department and served two terms on the board of trustees. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger Newton and wife, Suzanne, of Keller, David Newton and wife, Patricia, of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Cristi Martens of Edmond, Okla., Kelly Newton of Lubbock, Jason Newton of Dallas and Amy Maimbourg of Lubbock; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Martens, Rayven Maimbourg and Chase Maimbourg; and a nephew, Mike Dake of Canadian. Burial will follow visitation Saturday in Dudenville Cemetery, south of Golden City, Mo. Mrs. Smith was born to Jess and Angelia Wright on June 4, 1916, in Dade City, Mo. She married Aubrey Smith in Golden City. She was a hair stylist and state inspector for Missouri Cosmetologist Board for 20 years. She was a member of Golden City Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982. Survivors include three nieces, Wanda Probert of Golden City, Sally Metcalf of Carthage, Mo., and Kay Cargile of Webb City, Mo.
