Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Stansell was born near Corsicana. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rufus Stansell; two sisters, Ruth Batterby and Grace Eatman; two brothers, Richard Cornwell and Jack Cornwell; a daughter, Barbara Langham; and a great-grandson. Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Marie Visser of Fredericksburg and Maxa Price of Frisco; a son, J.R. Stansell of Boise City, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dreamland Cemetery with Dr. Jim Smith, pastor of St. Stephen United Methodist Church of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Hickman was born April 26, 1945, to John B. "Bud" and Mildred Hickman in Amarillo. He graduated from Canyon High School and attended WTAMU. He was employed for 15 years with Goodwill Industries in Amarillo. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, the Wesley Workers Sunday school class and the Covenant Group. He was preceded in death by his father in 1980, and his mother in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Amy Manese of Santa Clarita, Calif.; two brothers, Donald G. Hickman of San Antonio and J. Pat Hickman of Canyon; a sister, Sara Jo Kunkel of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Lindsay Manese of Santa Clarita; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa with the Rev. Billy Kersh of Paramount Terrace Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Raley was born Nov. 6, 1916, in Moundridge, Kan. She married Orville Raley on May 30, 1937. They lived in Phillips for many years, and she had lived in Amarillo since 1976. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 8, 1977. Survivors include two sons, James Raley of Dallas and Robert Raley of Amarillo; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alta Cunningham of California. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Oklahoma Lane Cemetery in the Oklahoma Lane Community. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oklahoma Lane Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Thomas, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Gober was a retired professor of accounting at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C. He served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1975. He moved to Farwell in July from Hickory. He was an avid square dancer and belonged to several square dancing clubs. He was born July 28, 1943, in Savannah, Ga. He married Betty Richey on Nov. 5, 1966. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 5, 2001. Survivors include his parents, A.W. and Irene Gober of Farwell; a sister, Kathryn Gober of Lubbock; two brothers, Dale Gober of Lubbock and Alan Gober of Austin; and a special friend, Ann Paine of Farwell. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 16, 2003 Jerrell T. Cate PLAINVIEW - Jerrell T. Cate, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Cate was born March 8, 1922, in Grapevine. He grew up in Bangs and graduated from Texas A&M in 1942. He moved to Plainview in 1946 to start a diary business. He successfully built Cate's Dairy Farms in Plainview and Denver City. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the pastor's class. On June 6, 1942, he married Iris Stacy in Bangs. She died on March 15, 1993. He married Wilmoth Bellamy on May 17, 1996, in Plainview. He valued people and was instrumental in helping many students with their college education as well as contributing to organizations he believed benefited others. He was preceded in death by his first wife; a brother; and a granddaughter, Wendi Ashwill. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jerrella Cate-Keim of Tulia and Marian Cate Ashwill of Dallas; a sister, Joy Early of Bangs; and three grandchildren, Christi Ashwill Daughenbaugh, Catherine Ashwill Couch and Michael Ashwill, all of Dallas. Mr. Thomas was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Amarillo, Texas. He married Laverta Harrison on Sept. 14, 1957, in Clovis, N.M. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Hood County. Ms. Tankersley was born August 21, 1960, in Amarillo to Theron Don and Carla Blackmore Tankersley. She lived in the Denton/Dallas area for the past 20 years. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 12 years. She enjoyed working with animals and was an excellent horse trainer. Survivors include her parents; a brother, Rick Tankersley and wife, Janel, of McKinney; a sister, Tara Tankersley of Fort Worth; 3 nephews; a niece; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and close cousins, the Lasater family. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 16, 2003 Scott D. Stimpson SUN CITY, Ariz. - Scott D. Stimpson, 82, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003. Celebration-of-life services will be at 11 a.m. today in Country Baptist Church in Peoria with lunch to follow. Arrangements are by Palm Funeral Home. Mr. Stimpson was born in Geronimo, Okla., to Clarence Stimpson and Rachel Hanks Stimpson on Aug. 2, 1921. He lived most of his life in Borger, Texas, and Prescott Valley. He also founded Grand Avenue Shoe Repair in 1993. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Gay; two granddaughters, Lisa Mumby and Laura Hargett; a great-granddaughter; a brother in California; a sister in Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of Christian friends.
