Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Allen was born March 2, 1912, in Benjamin. She married John Nugent Allen on Jan. 6, 1929, in Turkey. Survivors include a son, Aubrey Earl Allen and wife, Billie, of Lynnville, Tenn.; a daughter, Bonnie Chambless and husband, Bill, of Horseshoe Bay; two sisters, Bernice Byrd of Amarillo and Martha Phillips of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Don Poole, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Mrs. Koeppe was born in Ponca, Neb. She had been a Dumas resident since 2000. She married Werner D. Koeppe in 1953. She retired from National Beef in Liberal, Kan., where she had worked as a payroll clerk. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Cindy Koeppe of Dumas, Patricia Finke of Wichita, Kan., and Pam Jameson and husband, Donald, of Dumas; a son, Bruce W. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 28, 2003 Amarillo Dr. Wesley Francis Pittman Dr. Wesley Francis Pittman, 89, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003. No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Dr. Pittman earned a master of arts degree from the University of New Mexico and a master of science degree from Oklahoma State University. He earned a doctorate in public school administration also at OSU and spent 57 years serving in public education. He was an avid bridge player and loved to play tennis. In 1931, he was the Tri-State tennis champion, continuing to play the game he loved until he was 82 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, on March 22, 2000. He graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala., in 1954. He served as a first lieuteuant in the Army. He then joined Father's Insurance Agency, moving to Hartford Insurance Group in 1959. He married Cleda Ellinger in 1959. He moved to Amarillo in 1973 to become a partner in Ordway Saunders Agency, now HRH Insurance. He retired in August 1999 and moved to Sun City, Grand Surprise, Ariz. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Diane Peterson and husband, Dean, of Phoenix; a son, Joe Murray and wife, Ann, of Dallas; a sister, Mary Zinn of Decatur; two brothers, Joe Murray of Mattoon, Ill., and Bill Murray of Amarillo; and four grandchildren, Katy, Joseph, Alison and Jack Ryan. He opened the Montgomery Ward store in Western Plaza as department manager for housewares, cameras, office furniture and later the jewelry department. He was an avid gardener and attended South Georgia Church of the Nazarene where he taught adult Sunday school class. Mr. Langen was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Phillips to Vincent and Allene Griggsby Langen. He married Jerrie Forbes on Oct. 23, 1953, in Borger and they had been residents of Canyon since 1964. He received a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and a master's of business administration from West Texas State University. He was mayor of Canyon from 1978 to 1986 and was employed for 38 years at WTAMU where he was the book store manager and served as director of auxiliary services. When he retired, he sold real estate. He was a Gideon and a member of First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and on the Baptist Community Services board. He also served on the Baptist St. Anthony's board of directors. He was a veteran of the Army Infantry and was named "Citizen of the Year" in 1977. He liked to fish with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 28, 2003 Thomas Perry Coffman MERIDIAN, Miss. - Thomas Perry Coffman, 65, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003. Services were Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in Union Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery by Wright's Funeral Home of Quitman. Mr. Coffman was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Stratford, Texas, to Hardy and Peggy Coffman. He graduated from Stratford High School and was a retired farmer, rancher and carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Benjamin and Bud; and three sisters, Joyce Brooks, Barbara Bouldin and Linda Umphress. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 28, 2003 Jeanie Lanell Henager LUBBOCK - Jeanie Lanell Henager, 62, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003. Services will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Christopher's Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Haney and the Rev. Ted Dotts officiating. Burial will be in St. Christopher's Columbarium. Mrs. Henager was born Nov. 8, 1940, in Alvin, Calif. She was diagnosed with Stage III cancer in 2001 that recently progressed to Stage IV. Mrs. Henager was a registered nurse and clinical specialist in adult psychiatric and mental health nursing. She practiced professional nursing for more than 40 years and most recently retired after 15 years of teaching psychiatric mental health nursing at South Plains College in Levelland. She was a graduate of Hendrick Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She held a bachelor of science from Hardin Simmons University and a master of science in psychiatric mental health nursing from Texas Women's University. Mrs. Henager also practiced in child adolescent mental health at Kilgore Children's Hospital in Amarillo and served as an advanced practice nurse with the Veterans Administration Mental Hygiene Clinic in Lubbock. She is listed in Who's Who of Nursing Education and received numerous nurse education performancea awards. She also wrote poetry and fiction as well as numerous professional papers and articles. She was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Lubbock. Survivors include a sister, Virginia Doster and husband, Tony, of Amarillo; two brothers, the Rev. She was raised in Amarillo and was married to Winton Rochelle. They lived in Odessa for 21 years, then in Houston for another 24 years. She passed away peacefully after living for one year at her son's home in Austin. Frances was recognized for 55 years of volunteer service to the Girl Scouts in Odessa and Houston. She was awarded the Thanks Badge and Thanks II for many roles as a Girl Scout including troop leader, day camp director, backpacking coordinator, outdoor training and history committee. For many years she was the church librarian at the First Baptist Church of Odessa and the Hidden Valley Baptist Church of Houston. She was most recently an active member of and church librarian at Memorial Baptist Church of Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lula Fay Stringfellow Giles; and by her husband, Winton Rochelle. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Bolton of Dimmitt; a son, Gary Rochelle of Austin; and three sisters, Elizabeth Gahn, Martha B. Stulce, and Lutie Hume "Cindy" Kennedy, all of Amarillo.
