Kirk Kenneth T. Kirk, 64, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Calvary Cemetery in Elk City, Okla. Mr. Kirk was born and raised in Canute, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1958 from Pampa. He worked for Pioneer Natural Gas and later Energas for more than 30 years before retiring in 1996. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcella Browning and Letha Payne; and a brother, Marvin Kirk. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Dodgen of Amarillo; a son, Dennis Kirk of Fritch; a sister, Nellie Music of Elk City, Okla.; two brothers, LeRoy Kirk and Clifford Kirk, both of Elk City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. McClurg was born March 11, 1935, in Olivia, Minn. He was raised in Pocahontas, Iowa. He married Illa Messerschmitt on April 19, 1958, in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked for the state of Iowa before moving to Amarillo. He worked for IBP for 30 years. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold McClurg. Mr. Mummert was born Sept. 6, 1923, in St. Louis County, Mo. He was a truck driver for United Transport for more than 30 years. He married Nora Elizabeth Fair on Aug. 31, 1964, in Floydada. He served in the Army during World War II. Gordon was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, and a brother, Richard Mummert. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Mueller was born on a farm in Sagerton, the fifth of 11 children. He owned and operated Finer Foods Grocery Store in Kermit for many years. He later worked as a food broker retiring in 1971. He had been a resident of Amarillo for 34 years. Mr. Mueller served with the Army during World War II. He was stationed in Europe and Germany. Mr. Mueller, a member of Oldham County Country Club, enjoyed playing golf and scored two holes-in-one, one of those when he was 81 years old. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Helm Mueller and Gus Mueller; seven brothers, Richard, Albert, Alfred, Ben, Otto, Raymond and Alvin; a sister, Agnes; and wives, Dorothy Holland Mueller and Mae Weeks Mueller. Mr. Smith was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Gilmer, and had been a Clarendon resident most of his life. He married Beatrice V. Jones on March 7, 1934, in Gilmer. He was retired from the railroad and had farmed for several years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Stephen's Baptist Church in Clarendon. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Combs, and two brothers, Neal Smith and George Smith. Mr. Robinson was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Swisher County to Bee and Alpha Huckabee. She married Dr. Glen Robinson in Happy. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Happy, where she served on numerous committees and taught Sunday School. She was a community leader and helped raise funds for charities. Sha also served as den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a longtime columnist for the Tulia Herald. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974. He was a member of Tell Baptist Church. He graduated from Estelline High School in 1954. He served in the Army from 1957 to 1959 stationed in Germany. Upon returing to the states, he began a career as a truck driver. He was a bull hauler until his retirement in 1995. He married Becky Tate on Sept. 12, 1961, in Estelline. They moved to Tulia in 1974. He was preceded in death by his mother; his father; and a sister, Virginia Mumau. Mrs. Ellis was born May 15, 1920, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ernest Bateman Black and Faye Bunyan Black. She attended Miss Crosby's School, Mills College and graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was a member of Junior League of Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Ellis earned a teaching certificate from West Texas State University and taught English in the Pampa School District for more than 20 years. She touched the lives of many people through her years of teaching and service to the community. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Laird Ellis, a longtime employee of Celanese Chemical Co., in 1994. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery in Tucumcari with Wes Stewart, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Stallings was born Feb. 11, 1915, in Decatur, Okla. He was an aircraft mechanic and retired from the Air Force in 1950. Survivors include a son, Larry Stallings of Utah; and two grandchildren. Burial will be in Garden of the Pines at Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Mr. Reid was born April 29, 1933, to Dr. Franklin I. Reid and Daulcy Newman Reid in Pampa. He grew up in Dumas, graduated from Dumas High School in 1950 and then received his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1955. He married Janette Trayler on Aug. 25, 1955, in Dumas. Mr. Reid served as a first lieutenant in the Army during the Korean conflict and in the Army Reserves until 1963. He worked as a geologist from 1959 until his death, eventually forming his own firm, Providence Oil Co. in Wichita Falls, with his son Frank in 1984, after moving from Irving. An active member, Sunday school teacher and deacon at First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, Mr. Reid loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists, National Rifle Association and Sigma Chi Fraternity. During his lifetime, he participated in over 27 international mission trips to such places as Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore, Mexico, Kenya and Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Phillip Reid. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Frank Reid and wife, Debe, of Wichita Falls, and Steven Reid and wife, Robbie, and Daniel Reid and wife, Jana, all of Granbury; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Pat Payne and husband, Alan, of Taos, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
