Graham, 77, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Dr. Charles G. Jones, pastor of Second Baptist Church, will officiate. Mr. Graham was born to James T. and Harriet Graham on March 16, 1926, in Canyon. He graduated from Clarendon High School in 1943. He served in the Texas State Guard from 1943 to 1944. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He married Norma Jean Richardson on Nov. 9, 1946, and they resided in Amarillo. He worked as a salesman and retired from Jewel Home Shopping Service in 1985. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed participating in the activities of his children. He assisted with the Boy Scouts when his sons were active. He accompanied their troops to Philmont Scout Ranch and climbed the "Tooth of Time." He also accompanied them on some of the Kwahadi Indian Dancers trips. He was a member of the genealogy society and enjoyed working on his genealogy until he became too ill to do so. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jean Reynolds; and a brother, James T. Graham Jr. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jimmy L. Graham and wife, Linda, Jeffery M. Graham and wife, Debbie, Jay Graham, Jerry Graham and wife, Brenda, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Jeanette DuBois and husband, Joe, of Mustang, Okla.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Duck and husband, Brian, Jeff Cox, Scott Graham, Kay Graham, Ian Graham and Tyler Chattin; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Amarillo First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. K. Ray McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Osborn was born in Rocky, Okla., on May 10, 1919. He married Jewel Gustafson on Dec. 8, 1951, in Santa Rosa, N.M. He worked for Haliburton for 24 years and then was an oil field consultant before working at Lake Tanglewood as a security guard. He was a member of the VFW, the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association and Amarillo First Church of the Nazarene. He loved to visit people, never went anywhere he didn't know someone and never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing golf and also playing with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharon Simmons and husband, Jackie, of Taos, N.M.; two sons, Tommy Osborn of Perryton and Rocky Osborn of Anderson, S.C.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Rhoten was born April 28, 1919, in Freestone County to Johnnie Burns and Arrie Missouri Slaughter Little. She married Rex Rhoten in June 1967 in Borger. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex in October 2000; a daughter, Vicki Gray in August 2003; her father in August 1946; and her mother in February 1950. Survivors include a son, Gary Temple of Reno, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Carol Petty of Borger; a sister, Irene West of Gorman; four brothers, Bennie Little of Jacksboro, J.L. Georgia St. Mr. Jones was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1939 and attended Amarillo College. He married Betty Younger on May 12, 1945, in Austin. He was a cryptographer for 3 years in the Army Air Corps during World War II and served in the China Burma India Theater. He was employed as a clerk typist by Panhandle Fruit in 1941. The company was purchased by Ben E. Keith in 1968 where he served as president and chairman of the board. He continued to work through Sept. 12, 2003, as chairman emeritus for a total of 62 years. He was a volunteer at the Randall County Tax Office from 1998 to present. He was an avid golfer and gin player, joining Tascosa Country Club in 1958. He was a high school and college baseball star. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Gladys Taylor Jones; and his wife, Betty, in 1997. Survivors include three daughters, Tricia Condran and Carol Autry, both of Amarillo, and Melinda Ashcraft of Irving; five grandchildren, Beth, David, Brian, Jana and Matthew; and five great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Baker was born in Bellevue and moved to Amarillo as a child. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1936, attended Amarillo College and graduated from Texas Tech University. He served as a pilot and instructor in the Navy during World War II. He married Evelyn Shelby in Amarillo in 1946. He was a safety engineer before retiring in 1984. He was a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a hospice volunteer for 18 years. Mrs. Higgins was born in Spring Creek, Young County, and later moved to Parmer County. She grew up in a community near Farwell. She graduated from the Demastration High School at Canyon and attended West Texas University. She married Al Higgins in 1935 and moved to Amarillo. He died in 1983. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Higgins and wife, Julie, of Plano; a sister, Mattie Adams of Amarillo; three grandsons, Coby Higgins and wife, Ann, and Jeff Higgins, all of Plano, and Brad Higgins of Dallas; and a great-grandson, Brian Higgins of Plano. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Owens was born Dec. 14, 1911, in Hedley. Several years later, he came to Amarillo from New Mexico with his mother, dad and sister by covered wagon where he spent most of his life. After attending Amarillo High School, he began working at Stefan's Ice Cream where he met his wife of 39 years, Ann Smith. She preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 1975. After serving in the Coast Guard for four years, he came back to Amarillo to work at Borden's Ice Cream where he retired with more than 60 years of service. He spent his later years with wife, Ruby Broaddus. He was a member of First Baptist Church for more than 70 years. His hobbies included golf, fishing and hunting. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by a son, Orel Duane Owens. Bell St. Mrs. Guerry was born July 15, 1919, near Hastings, Okla., to Jesse and Linnie Hight. She married Derrel Guerry on Aug. 15, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1992. She had been an active member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church since 1976 and a member of the Bridgebuilders Sunday School Class. Survivors include two sons, William L. Guerry of Arlington and Jim Guerry of Amarillo; a brother, Lee Hight of Duncan, Okla., a sister, Mildred Cain of Duncan; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He married Edith McDowell on Aug. 31, 1940, in Clarendon. He moved from Claude to Lake Tanglewood in 1980 and moved to the Continental Retirement Center in 1997. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved his family, music, hunting, golf and playing games. He and his wife, Edith, enjoyed traveling with their trailer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Winkcompleck in 1982. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 15, 2003 Elsewhere Vina Lou Moore LUBBOCK - Vina Lou Moore, 84, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Carter-Smart Funeral Home in Duncan, Okla. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens at Duncan. Mrs. Moore was born on Nov. 19, 1918, in Duncan to S.J. and Montie Sisk Pinson. She grew up on the family farm northeast of Duncan. She attended Plato School and graduated from Duncan High School. She married Howard J. Moore in 1942 at Duncan. He preceded her in death in 1993. The Moores lived in Skellytown from 1949 to 1971, where Howard worked for the White Deer-Skellytown School District. Vina also worked at Skellytown Elementary School, and for many years was employed by M. E. Moses Company in Pampa. Upon Howard's retirement they moved back to Duncan. Vina worked for Duncan Regional Hospital until her retirement. She had recently lived in Tulia and Fort Worth before moving to Lubbock this year. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include her five children, Patsy of Royse City, Donna of Lubbock, Wanda of Cedar Hill, David of Mangum, Okla., and Charles of Pampa; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur Clay Pinson of Owasso, Okla. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 15, 2003 D. Ross Dunham SAN ANTONIO - D. Ross Dunham, 75, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003. A memorial service will be at Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Augustine, Fla. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Porter Loring Mortuary North. Mr. Dunham was born William David Ross Dunham in St. Augustine on Feb. 15, 1928, to the late David Ross and Georgia Springer Dunham. Ross grew up along the marshes and beaches of the Northeast Florida coast in familiar small town surroundings. He graduated high school from Sewanee Military Academy in 1945. Ross attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, was a member of the Pi Tau Sigma (Epsilon Chapter), and graduated in 1949 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He began work for Mason and Hanger-Silas Mason Co. Inc., where he worked with various divisions for 45 years beginning as a draftsman in Burlington, Iowa, in 1949. He transferred to the Pantex Plant in Amarillo in 1957, where he served as plant manager from 1975 to 1980, and subsequently to Mason and Hanger's corporate offices in Lexington, Ky., where he retired as senior vice president in 1994. He received the 1978 Outstanding Engineer Recognition Award from the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and he was chairman of the Amarillo chapter of United Way from 1975 to 1979. He was recognized by American Defense Preparedness Association for Distinguished Service as Executive Board Chairman Ammunition and Technology Division, April 1981 through February 1991. He received the Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command Certificate of Commendation on April 20, 1991. He was inducted as a member of The Old Guard of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association on Oct. 15, 1999. Ross and his wife, Peggy, were able to enjoy several years of retirement together traveling and sharing their time fishing and golfing in both their Fair Oaks Ranch and Gunnison, Colo., homes prior to his death. An avid outdoor sportsman, Ross will always be remembered for his love, honesty, sincerity and generosity to numerous charities, family and friends. Ross and Peggy were baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Augustine. Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Dorothy Olson and Evelyn Stauber, both of St. Augustine; a daughter, Amy Cissell of Richardson; two sons, David Dunham of Haltom City, and Kirk Dunham of Seabrook; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
