Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Holley Funeral Home Chapel with David Lough, minister of University Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Hammons was born Dec. 17, 1922, to Weldington Johnson and Mabel Claire Ligon in Denton. She married Crosby Hammons on May 4, 1941, in San Jon, N.M. They resided in Canyon for 50 years. Before retiring she worked as a dental assistant in Canyon, and later as a secretary at the University Police Department in Canyon. She was a member of University Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 15, 2001; a brother; and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Hammons and wife, Mary, of Canyon; a daughter, Tiffany Marie Hammons of Canyon; two sisters, Arleen Hart of Amarillo and Rosalie Johnson of DeSoto; three grandchildren, Shannon, Kendra and Chris; and four great-grandchildren, Heather, David, Monica and Aidan. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 20, 2003 Gene Stephens TULIA - Gene Stephens, 62, of Pilot Point died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rob Lindley of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Stephens was born July 18, 1941, in Clayton, N.M., to Marvin and Katherine Stephens. He grew up in West Texas and graduated from Silverton High School in 1959. He went into construction in Amarillo for 21 years. He served in the Army National Guard for six years in Tulia. He moved to Pilot Point in 1995. He was a member of American Legion Post in Tulia and in Pilot Point. He was a member of The Range Riders in Amarillo. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Monson and husband, Allan, of Amarillo; five sons, Hal Burns of Rollinsville, Colo., Clay Wheeler and Will Wheeler and wife, Jody, all of Quincy, Mo., and Cody Stephens and wife, Tina, and Rhett Stephens, all of Amarillo; a sister, Virginia Maples and husband, Dyrle, of Canyon; his mother, Katherine Stephens of Tulia; and nine grandchildren, Jordan Burns, Riley Wheeler, Sammy Wheeler, Katee Stephens, Cody Joe Stephens, Seth Wheeler, Alexis Stephens, Tyler Monson and Summer Monson. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church with Joe Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Bradstreet was born May 4, 1918, in Ballinger, to E.T. and Mary Lee Tindall Hollabaugh. She moved to Wheeler County with her family in 1923. She attended school in Porter Flat and Wheeler. She married Jack Loter in 1936. Mr. Loter preceded her in death in 1941. She married Fermond Rushing in 1942. Mr. Rushing preceded her in death in 1975. In 1978, she married Truman Bradstreet and he preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Bradstreet retired from Shamrock General Hospital after more than 30 years as the office manager. She was a loving daughter, wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Willie Mae Steves and Beulah McIntyre; and a brother, James Hollabaugh. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Chandler of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Mike Chandler and Aileen Hollingsworth, both of Amarillo, and Diane Honea and Steve Chandler, both of Rockwall; a sister, Mary Smith and husband, Ron, of Hemet, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Hollabaugh and Christine Rushing; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James Clyde and Ellen Rushing; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Miller worked for Kitchen Mart in Guymon for 29 years. He married Mary Simmons Gotcher on Nov. 30, 1977.
