Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Miss Smith was born April 6, 1963, in Littlefield. She was a Baptist. Survivors include her parents, Landon and Sharon Smith of Olton; her grandparents, Gladys Copeland of Olton and W.C. "Shorty" Smith of Daingerfield; a brother, Rodney Smith of Olton; and a sister, Londi Blackwell of Littlefield. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 28, 2003 Rosalie McMorris HEREFORD - Rosalie McMorris, 84, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Shultz officiating. The family will have a private interment. Mrs. McMorris was born March 19, 1919, in Cone, N.M., the daughter of Dave and Rose Ellis. She married L.C. McMorris on Oct. 6, 1962, in Billings, Mont., and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Survivors include her husband; two sons, John and Henry Goats, both of Canada; two daughters, Joan Ellis of Hereford and Carol Spencer of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Naida Walls of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 28, 2003 James H. "Jimmie" Kelso WELLINGTON - James H. "Jimmie" Kelso, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Pogue, retired Baptist Minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Kelso was born June 19, 1911, to James H. and Molly Woods Kelso in Melrose, N.M. He married Gladys Manley on May 28, 1934, in Hollis, Okla. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1928. He began his career in funeral service at age 19 with Ray Goodson. He and Cal Suggs purchased the funeral home in 1936 and operated it as Wellington Funeral Home until Jimmie bought Cal out in 1938. It became Kelso Funeral Home which he operated until he retired in 1983. He was honored as a 50-year licensee by the TFDA in 1984. He was a former member of the Wellington Kiwanis Club and helped organize the Wellington Cemetery Association. He also farmed and loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1974. He later married Lucille Wooldridge and she died in 1991. He was also preceded in death by a sister; and a brother. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Beth Fleming and husband, Robert, of Austin and Anna Kay Lockridge and husband, Tom, of San Antonio; a stepdaughter, Sandy Morton of Rio Rancho, N.M.; five grandchildren, Deborah Cervantes and George, and Darron Fleming and Heather, all of Austin, Erick Lockridge and LeeAnn of Dallas, Lacey Leverett and Kelly of Fort Hood and Michael Lockridge of Abilene; two stepgrandchildren, Gary Morton of California and Byron Morton of Los Alamos, N.M.; and six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Teresa, Andrew, Robert, Sean and Travis. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Haynes served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Haynes Engine Service in Hobbs, N.M., retiring in 1997. "Bill" Tucker PAMPA - W.R. "Bill" Tucker, 74, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. John Westman, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and John Curry officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Tucker was a lifelong resident of Pampa. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. Survivors include his wife, Betty; three daughters, Sharyn Bailey of Pantego, Carole Wisdom of Carlsbad, Calif., and Pandora Gargus of Spiro, Okla.; two sons, Dan Tucker of Pampa and Randy Tucker of W. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ with Colquitt Nash, minister, and Truitt Adair, with Sunset International Bible Institute of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Scott was born in Knox County on March 25, 1915. He served in the Air Transport Command in California during World War II. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Evans of Guadalupita, N.M.; a son, Paul Scott of Plainview; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandson. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 28, 2003 Amarillo Lois Patricia Coolidge Johnson Lois Patricia Coolidge Johnson, 88, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Davlyn Duesterhaus, chaplain at BSA, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born March 17, 1915, in Central City, Neb. She married her childhood sweetheart, Elton L. Johnson, on May 5, 1937, in Chicago and they had two children, Elton L. Johnson Jr. of Tahlequah, Okla., and Sandra Waller of Amarillo. They raised their children in Norman, Okla., and Austin. She was a woman of many roles during her 88 years of life. She was a daughter to Ethel and Lee Coolidge, a sister to Jessica, and a wife to Elton L. Johnson, all who have preceded her in death. She was the beloved mother to Elton Jr. and Sandra, and the honored mother-in-law to Mary Lou and Jack. She was MeMa to Lori, Keith, Terri, Darren and many of their friends. To Kyle, Tonya, Amy, Leigh and Ryan and their friends, she was grandmother. The greatest name she answered to, however, was GiGi, short for great-grandmother, to her seven great-grandchildren. She was a woman of many roles. She was a skilled secretary and was a gifted vocalist. She was active in many community organizations as she was raising her children. Her main role was mother and homemaker. She had been a resident of Amarillo since 1983. Lois faced many challenges in her life, including this journey, with great strength and courage, thanks to the grace of God. She has gone home and will be sorely missed by all. Survivors include her son, Elton L. Johnson Jr. and wife, Mary Lou; her daughter, Sandra Waller and husband, Jack; four grandchildren, Kyle Johnson and wife, Tanya, of Portland, Ore., Amy Leigh Johnson of Ypsilanti, Mich., Lori Lee Underwood and husband, Keith, of Evergreen, Colo., and Terri Gottschalk and husband, Darren, of Tucson, Ariz.; seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Ryan, Ashton and Hayden, all of Evergreen, Colo., and Jordan, Makena and Sheldan, all of Tucson; and a nephew, Mike Hickey and wife, Carolyn, of Denver.
