Beshears WHEELER - Ruby C. Beshears, 77, died Satuday, Oct. 4, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Fellowship Church with the Rev. Eeron Mercer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Beshears was born June 2, 1926, in Boynton, Okla., to Everett and Mary Martin Pardue. She married C.L. "Jack" Beshears on Aug. 19, 1946, in Independence, Kan. Following the death of her husband in 1983, she worked as a clerk for McIlhany Dry Goods in Wheeler for 18 years. She had moved to Wheeler from McLean in 1982 and lived there for 20 years before moving to the Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, Kan., in 2001. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was "Gigi" to five children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of Grace Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a sister, Lucille Dice. Survivors include four daughters, Patty Austin and husband, Bobby, of Hooker, Okla., Connie Reeves and husband, Bennie, of Wheeler, Brenda Essen and husband, Randy, of Denton and Kathy West and husband, Benny, of Tuttle, Okla.; a son, Jack Beshears and wife, Jody, of Shamrock; four sisters, Maudie Graham, Mildred Harvel and Wanda Hayes, all of Haskell, Okla., and Jewel Hargroves of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two brothers, Everett Pardue of Tulsa, Okla., and Paul Pardue of Canadian, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Taylor Jr. PAMPA - H.B. Taylor Jr., 86, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Novian, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Taylor was born April 3, 1917, in Pampa where he had been a resident all of his life. He married Willie Lou Barrow on Oct. 3, 1937. He was a farmer and rancher in the Pampa area. He was past director and member of the Top O' Texas Rodeo Association and was a member of the American Hereford Breeders Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Parvin was a Friona resident since 1942, moving from Maud, Okla. She worked as a secretary. Survivors include two sons, Darrell Collier of Loop and B.J. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Shamrock with the Rev. Dean Driver, pastor of Samnorwood Baptist Church, and Gary Oldham officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery of McLean by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Dwyer was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Amarillo to John and Mary Hess Dwyer. He graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1970 and was graduated from Clarendon Junior College. While in high school, Ray earned his Eagle Scout badge. Ray was devoted to his God, his family and his community. He was a man who was always there for his wife, children, grandson and family. He was a friend willing to help in the community. He was a member of Samnorwood Baptist Church and worked for the R.A.'s and in the Sunday school department. Ray actively participated in the Walk to Emmaus events. He had served as a member and president of the Samnorwood school board. He was a farmer and rancher in the Abra Community and was working at TDCJ in Childress. He was a veteran, having served in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife, Connie; a daughter, Lindsy Dwyer of Amarillo; a son, Landon Dwyer of Fort Worth; his mother, Mary Dwyer of McLean; a brother, Nelson Dwyer of Amarillo; a sister, Rose Helen Steel of McLean; and a grandson, Trae. Bell St. Mrs. Robertson worked as a nurse. She attended Arden Road Baptist Church. Survivors include her church. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 6, 2003 Israel Eli Berkman Israel Eli Berkman, 90, of Amarillo, formerly of Waco, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Agudath Jacob Cemetery with Elliott Walpo officiating. Arrangements were by Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Dr. Berkman was born Nov. 19, 1912, in Waco. He graduated from Waco High School. He continued his education graduating from Baylor University in Waco. He also attended and graduated from Baylor Dental School in Dallas. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Berkman entered the Medical Corps Division of the United States Army during World War II. During his Army duty, Dr. Berkman was stationed in Dalhart and Victoria. Following his honorable discharge as a major, he served an internship at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. He later returned to Waco to open a private dental practice. He was board certified to practice dentistry not only in Texas but also in the state of Michigan. He was an honored member of The Texas Dental Society. Dr. Berkman also received a Lifetime Achievement Award for 50 years of dental service from the Dental Association. At the time of his retirement, he was the oldest practicing dentist in Waco. Dr. Berkman was a member of Congregation Agudath Jacob and the Waco chapter of B'nai B'rith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Ida Frankford Berkman; and a sister, Flora Epstein. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Berkman Mooring and husband, Matt; and four grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda, Michael and McKenzie. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Lovato was born in Denver and lived most of his life in Amarillo. He was a 1990 graduate of Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College. He was vice president of Panhandle Contractors Corp. He enjoyed his motorcycles and was a member of the Harley Owner's Group ("H.O.G.") He loved his family very much and could hardly wait to become a father in December when his first son, Luke Lovato, is to be born. Survivors include his wife, Jessica; his parents, Jerry and Lori Lovato of Amarillo; a brother, Jerry W. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. She was adored and loved by her children and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband and nine brothers and sisters.
