Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in McIntyre Christner Cemetery at Flat Camp Ranch in Roberts County with the Rev. Larry Spannagle officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Christner was born in Seton Infirmary in Austin to James Blaine and Ruby Vaughan Christner on Jan. 23, 1933. "Mac" grew up in Shamrock and graduated from Shamrock High School. He attended both Texas A&M University and The University of Texas. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict as a sergeant. He married Mary Kathryn Brainard on June 23, 1958, in Canadian. Mac retired from Celanese Chemical Co. in Pampa after 20 years. He was later self-employed in Wheeler. Mac was active in the Wheeler Veterans organization and was on the building committee for the Wheeler Veterans Memorial. He was also an EMT and volunteered on the Wheeler Ambulance Service for five years. He was an avid supporter and fan of The University of Texas Longhorns and was a life member of The University of Texas Exes Association and a member of the Longhorn Foundation. He was proud of the Longhorn tradition as both of his parents graduated from the university as did both of his sons. All of his loved ones will cherish his sense of humor and friendly demeanor. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tom Henry; and a granddaughter, Natalie Kate. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Greg and Shirlie Christner of Houston and Jeff and Milli Christner of Buda; a brother, John Hal and Claudia Christner of Shamrock; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Christner of Wheeler and Nancy McIntyre of Spearman; nine grandchildren, Lea, Kathryn, Darcie, Jeremy, Darius, Quentin and Shaylee Christner, all of Houston, and Chesney and Emily Christner, both of Buda; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to the Wheeler Public Library or the Wheeler Volunteer Ambulance Service. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 13, 2003 Dora G. Hickman DUMAS - Dora G. Hickman, 85, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Art Lynch, minister of First Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hickman was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Edmond, Okla. She was a homemaker and a Dumas and Moore County resident since 1941. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. She married R.L. "Bob" Hickman in 1936 in Gypsy, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 3, 1990; and a great-granddaughter, Kelly Davidson on Aug. 1, 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Dolores Lundy and husband, David, and Marilyn Ballew and husband, James, all of Dumas; two sons, Ronnie Hickman of Dumas and Kenny Hickman and wife, Patsy, of South Greenfield, Mo.; a sister, Patsy Kincheloe of Sault Sainte Marie, Mich.; a brother, Billy Miller of Fresno, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Gililland-Watson Funeral Home Rose Chapel with Elder Migel Garcia, of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mr. Lopez was born March 17, 1922, in Del Rio. He married Sophia Linan in Lamesa. Survivors include his wife; seven daughters, Eva Cuellar, Yolanda Fuentes and Susie Hernandez, all of Hereford, Mary Presas and Linda Lopez Gutierrez, both of Amarillo, Estella Miranda of Perryton and Julia Andrade of Clovis, N.M.; two sons, Adam Lopez and Fernando Lopez, both of Hereford; a sister, Luisa Aldeba; two brothers, Isrial Lopez of Greeley, Colo., and Moses Lopez of Lamesa; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was raised in Hart and graduated from Hart High School in 1977. He attend Sul Ross University and Wayland Baptist University. He married Sally Lindemann on Jan. 18, 1986, in Windthorst. He was a farmer and member of St. Alice Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny George; and his grandparents, Claude Hutcherson and Mr. and Mrs. W.C. George. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lindsey George of Hart; a son, Kendall George of Hart; a sister, Cynthia Gerber of Hart; a brother, Barry George of Hart; his mother, Marsha George of Hart; his father and stepmother, Jack and Bonnie George of Hart; and his grandparents, Harley and Wilda Redin of Plainview. Kyle Streun, pastor, and the Rev. John Kasparie, pastor of Nazarene Church, officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Nixon was born Nov. 22, 1915. He was a Baptist. Ms. Kitchens had lived in the Muleshoe area all of her life and was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She was a professional cosmetologist, beautician and instructor. Survivors include two sons, Joshua Brent Kitchens of Midland and Toby Bunt Kitchens of Muleshoe; a daughter, Shauna Renee Kitchens of Wichita Falls; her father, Raymond Treider Jr. of Muleshoe; her grandmother, Noia L. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with Billy Rammage, minister of First Baptist Church in Clayton, N.M., and Jim Franz, retired Baptist minister and brother-in-law of Yoakum, officiating. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mrs. Stafford was born April 9, 1927, to Martin and Allie Sprayberry Turbyfill. She was a member of Texline First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Lawrence of Coldwater; a son, Ray Stafford of Coldwater Community; her mother, Allie Turbyfill of Odessa; a sister, Betty Franz of Yoakum; a brother, Clint Turbyfill of Odessa; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 13, 2003 Canyon Charles Albert "Button" Stevenson Charles Albert "Button" Stevenson, 92, of Canyon died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003. Private services have been held. Arrangements were by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth St. Mr. Stevenson was born on his parent's farm in Floyd County on May 7, 1911. He had played polo at the professional level and had been a mortician prior to entering the Navy at the beginning of World War II. He served as a corpsman in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he farmed and ranched in Floyd and Briscoe counties and in Chaves County, N.M. While living in Roswell, N.M., he was an active member of Alcholics Anonymous and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Master. He enjoyed his grandsons and they were the joy of his life to his last day. Special thanks to all the wonderful people at Crown of Texas Hospice and the great people at Hereford Care Center for their loving care and attention. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Smith Stevenson in 1970; and a sister, Chi Clark in 1988. Survivors include his son, Max Stevenson; three grandsons, Jim Stevenson, Tommy Stevenson and Sam Stevenson; and three great-grandsons, Cedar Stevenson, Holt Stevenson and Clayton Stevenson.
