Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Robert L. Mrs. Petty was born April 15, 1925, in Wellstown, Okla., to George and Thelma Shindell Cordell. She married Linuel Petty on March 27, 1943, in Shattuck, Okla. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Kennedy and the Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Neufeld was born Sept. 3, 1908, to Molly Kate Clark Witt and A.C. Witt in Gail Borden County. Her family lived on a farm near Lamesa in Dawson County before moving to Perryton in the fall of 1912. She attended Perryton schools graduating in 1926. She attended one year of college at Southern Methodist University before her marriage to Clarence H. Neufeld on Aug. 17, 1930. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Perryton, where she taught Sunday school and played the piano for many years. She was a Cub Scout den mother and involved in all school activities as her son was growing up. She was a homemaker the majority of her life. At age 65 she began working with her husband at Plainview Hardware Co. She worked with him for the next 13 years until the store closed in November 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 9, 1986; her parents; and a brother, Alton Witt. Survivors include a son, Don Neufeld and wife, Kaye, of Perryton; two grandsons, Christopher H. Neufeld and wife, Krystal, of Plano and Michael Don Neufeld, M.D. of Seattle; a brother, Willard Witt and wife, Juanita, of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Ruth Davis of Denton; seven nieces; and five nephews. He had been a lifetime resident of Clarendon. He married Frances Marie Wallace on June 27, 1964, in Clarendon. He was a partner in Wallace Monument Co. for several years before his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 6, 1998. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 25, 2003 Wilma Ann Garretson Hedrick Wilma Ann Garretson Hedrick, 82, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Ural Cemetery in Elk City, Okla., with Dwight Garretson, her brother, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Hedrick was born Aug. 12, 1921, to Francis Marion and Janie Cherry Garretson at Lake Creek, Okla. She started school at the age of 4 and attended several one room schools including "Old Rankin" and "New Reydon." In 1939 and 1940 she attended Southwestern Bible College in Enid, Okla. She married Cyril Hedrick in 1948 at Sayre, Okla. They were married 50 years. Mrs. Hedrick was a genealogist and writer who had compiled over 100 genealogy books. She also published a genealogy newspaper from 1969 through 1972 called the "Garretson News." She traced her lineage to the famous "Rembrandt" of Lyden, Holland, and also Will Rogers, a famous humorist, singer and entertainer in Oklahoma. She and her husband also had a crafting business for many years, specializing in wooden rocking horses, cutting boards and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She was also known in Oklahoma for her ability to restore old dolls. They also published a cookbook called "What's Cookin Grandmama" in 1989. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998 and by three sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Conway and husband, John, of Amarillo; a son, Danny Luther Hedrick and wife, Beth, of Amarillo; an adopted daughter, Tran Bach Yen of California; three sisters, Gladys Stone of Elk City, Lilly Anthony of Tulare, Calif., and Betty Garretson of South Carolina; two brothers, Harlan Garretson of California and Dwight Garretson of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Geneva Solis. He was a graduate of Tascosa High School and also attended Amarillo College and University of New Mexico. He met Kathy Bresnahan in 1964 and married her in 1970. They had a strong and loving 33-year marriage. Jeff and Kathy were one of the founders of Amarillo Area Corvettes in 1993. He worked as the district supervisor for Zales Corp. for 18 years. Jeff and Kathy owned and operated the Optical Center for 13 years. He was employed by Panhandle Eye Group and was director of operations at Broome Optical in Amarillo, Pampa and Borger. He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Brooks. Survivors include his wife; a son, Colin Brooks of Dallas; his mother, Hazel Brooks of Amarillo; a brother, Bob Brooks of Albuquerque, N.M.; six nieces; three nephews; two great-nieces; and three great-nephews.
