Rosary was at 7 p.m. Friday in Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with John Nino, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Salinas was born April 8, 1929, in Edinburg. He married Araceli Benavides on Dec. 27, 1953, in Edinburg. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Antonio Salinas of Annandale, Va., Pedro Salinas of Memphis and Gerardo Salinas of Grapevine; a daughter, Maria Theresa Thompson of Clyde; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 8, 2003 Leory Birdine QUANAH - Leroy Birdine, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Coffer of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. Birdine was born June 7, 1929, in Greenville. He was an Army veteran and retired from Atlantic Richfield Oil Co. Survivors include three daughters, Willie Kay of Mesa, Ariz., and Earlene and Debbie Sue, both of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two sons, Johnny Birdine of Casa Grande and Tracy Birdine of Los Angeles; three sisters, Willie Kay Nelson and Ester Love, both of Quanah, and Clara Pyles of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 8, 2003 Manuel Cruz CACTUS - Manuel Cruz, 82, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, in Dumas. Services will be at El Terrero Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico. Local arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Mr. Cruz was a retired traffic officer in El Terrero Namiquipa. He had also attended the Pentecostal Church, Siloe, in El Terrero. Survivors include seven sons, Saul Cruz of Albuquerque, N.M., Josue Cruz of Phoenix, Joel Cruz of Hobbs, N.M., Jonathan Cruz and Ruben Cruz, both of El Terrero Namiquipa, David Cruz of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Daniel Cruz of Las Vegas, Nev.; five daughters, Noel Cruz of Flagstaff, and Lidia Cruz, Ester Cruz, Paty Cruz and Noemie Cruz, all of Cactus; 45 grandchildren; and 63 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morgan was born Sept. 18, 1905, in Calumet, Okla. She married Virgil Crabtree on Jan. 2, 1923, in Grand Forks, N.D. Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Selby and Ethel Clevenger, both of Dalhart, and Ellen Myer of Winters; a sister, Goldie Briggs of California; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 8, 2003 Oklahoma A.W. "Dub" Garver CHEYENNE, Okla. - A.W. "Dub" Garver, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, in Sayre. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Silent Home Cemetery with the Rev. Don Harrold officiating. Arrangements are by Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Mr. Garver was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Midway, Okla. He served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Chambers of Boys Ranch, Texas, and Jackie Abernathy of Rio Rancho, N.M.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Katie Tice of Cheyenne and Hester Hickey of Reydon.
