Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Church of Christ in the Colonies with Dick Marcear officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Scott was born in Amarillo. She graduated from Lubbock Christian College in 1982. She married Kim Edward Scott in 1982 in Lubbock. She was a member of Church of Christ. She and her family provided a loving home environment to many foster children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Betty Helms. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Natasha Scott and Kimberlea Scott, both of Wildorado; a foster daughter, Loretta Sherwood of Amarillo; three sons, J.J. Scott, Kelton Scott and Jacolby Scott, all of Wildorado; two sisters, Jamie Johnson and B.J. Black, both of Wildorado; and a brother, Dr. Hollis Helms of San Antonio. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 9, 2003 Buck Martindale SAMNORWOOD - Buck Martindale, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Eleventh Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dozier Cemetery of Dozier by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Martindale was born in Hood County, close to Glen Rose, in 1915. He came to the Texas Panhandle in a covered wagon with his family in the fall of 1919. He attended the last graduating class at Dozier School where he was a track, baseball and basketball athlete, winning the county "mile" in 1933. He married the love of his life, Mildred Voyles, on Dec. 27, 1934. They had been married more than 67 years before her death in 2001. He and Mildred farmed in Collingsworth County many years and he began doing carpentry work in 1936 by helping to build the Samnorwood Elementary School. He was a house builder in this area for 50 years. He was a trustee for the Samnorwood School District and served as president of the board. He was preceded in death by his wife; five brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Martindale and wife, Kathleen, and Jimmy Martindale and wife, Diana, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Peggy Thomas and husband, James, and Marie Riley, all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tregellas was a homemaker. She was a member of Full Gospel Church in Perryton. Berdie gave her heart to the Lord in 1932 during a revival in Gray, Okla. She was then baptized in Fulton Creek. She worked at Malones store in Perryton and cooked at Bryans Corner for many years. She lived on the farm and worked in Gray milking cows, driving the tractor along with her husband, Ernie, and cooking for Harvest Hands. She loved working in her yard and raising flowers. She went to live at Twin Oakes Nursing Home in Booker in June 1999 where she was an active lady, going to all the activities. She was quite a bingo player and always looked forward to the church services and luncheons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Lena Peterman; her husband, Ernie Tregellas in 1969; and a son, Bill Tregellas. Jobs throughout his life included Phillips Refinery in Borger, Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla., and Oil Transport Co. where he retired after 20 years of service. Mr. Dines was born in Amarillo and raised in Loveland, Colo. He was in the first graduating class of Tascosa High School. He served in the Navy and was a graduate of West Texas State University. He married Nancy Newburg in 1962 in Bainbridge, Md. He was a comptroller for Gulf Steel in Houston until his retirement in 1988 at which time he returned to Amarillo. In Amarillo, he worked as a real estate agent for Scott & Co. as well as Real Estate Concepts. He spent most of his time doing what he loved the most, farming and raising horses. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred T. Dines in 1994; and his stepfather, Rex Skow in 2001. She married Dean Wright on Sept. 3, 1983. She retired from the City of Amarillo as a crossing guard for Pleasant Valley Elementary School and from Caprock Home Health prior to her illness. She had been a nurse for Dr. Rossman and the Osteopathic Hospital for several years prior. She was an active member of The Women of the Moose and served on several committees and held the office of recorder. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and friend who put others first before she thought of herself. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1987.
