Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Lake Meredith Baptist Church with the Rev. Blake Westbrook, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Honeycutt was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Woodson. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Joe; five sons, James Wall of Amarillo, Bobby Wall and Tony Wall, both of Borger, Ricky Joe Honeycutt of Stinnett and Billy Honeycutt of Fritch; four daughters, Elizabeth Thompson and Kathy Vinyard, both of Stinnett, Vivian Reed of Borger and Shirley Pippin of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Ernie Singleton of California; 30 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 14, 2003 Robert Sidney White CLARENDON - Robert Sidney White, 95, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Citizens Cemetery with the Rev. James Ivey Edwards, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Clarendon, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. White was born July 29, 1908, in Clarendon. He attended Clarendon public schools and Clarendon College before graduating from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth before moving to Claude. He moved from Claude to Clarendon approximately 15 months ago. He married Willie Glenn Parten in 1936 in Clinton, Okla. He was in the banking business for most of his life before his retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Christian Church, Clarendon Masonic Lodge and Al Morah Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 1, 1998; a sister, Dorothy Hall in 2000; and three brothers, Harold White in 1984, and Frank and Glenn White in 1986. Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Benson and husband, Lloyd, of Clarendon; a niece, Janice Martin of Golden, Colo.; and a nephew, Dr. Bernie L. Benson of Claude. Mr. Merrill was born June 29, 1924, in Abernathy. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. Mrs. Meeks was born Nov. 20, 1914, in Amistad, N.M., to Joseph W. and Ila Belle (Vernon) Koger. Vera was a teacher and an expert with most all aspects of cattle ranching. On Oct. 8, 1938, she married Robert "Bob" Meeks in Tucumcari, N.M. They moved to Middlewater in 1948 after purchasing a part of the old XIT Ranch. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998. Survivors include a sister, Fern Zimmerman of Clayton, N.M.; a brother, Carl Koger of Amistad; a nephew and niece, Roy and Betty Bradshaw (Bob's nephew) of the Middlewater community. Watson in 1947 in Sedan, Kan., and shortly after they moved to Amarillo. She was a homemaker and raised two daughters, and one ornery boy. She was a longtime member of Valleyview Church of the Nazarene before she became a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was very active with the Joy Club, Hands in Hands and WMU. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos W. Watson in 2002; a son, Terry William Watson in 1957; and her parents. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Garrett of Yukon, Okla., and Carolyn McMinn of Haysville, Kan.; a son, Michael W. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Ada by Criswell Funeral Home of Ada. Mrs. Nickell was born July 7, 1920, in the Lovelady community, east of Ada. She married Olen James Nickell on Dec. 28, 1938. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Proffitt was born March 9, 1908, in Lafayette, Tenn., to Walter B. and Minnie Bray Proffitt. He moved from Tennessee to Texas with his family in 1913. He married Bertha Roach on April 24, 1929, and they moved to Amarillo in 1939 from Memphis. Witt retired from Franklin Serum Co. in 1973. He was a devout Christian, who always put others before himself and had a very loving, giving nature. He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 21, 1982; three sisters; and five brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Helen Proffitt Adams of Amarillo; a sister, Irene Gerber of Amarillo; a grandson, Wayne Adams and wife, Patty, of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Debbie Burch of Amarillo; two great-grandsons, Mark Burch of Nashville and Dustin Adams of Denton; a great-granddaughter, Dara Adams of Amarillo; and a great-great-grandson, Bryce Adams of Amarillo.
