Barrow, 80, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Assembly of God Church in Dalhart with Brother Don Heddin and Brother H.L. Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Dalhart Memorial Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Barrow was born on Sept. 21, 1923 in Texhoma. She married Raymond Barrow on Nov. 24, 1944. Survivors include a daughter, Helen Wells of Amarillo; a son, Davis Barrow of Pampa; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 28, 2003 Ivan Frederiksen Ivan Frederiksen, 86, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003. Masonic graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in White Deer Cemetery with the Rev. Mary Rogers-Ellsworth officiating. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Frederiksen was born in Carson County, southwest of Groom. He graduated from Groom High School in 1934 and attended Transylvania College and School of Advanced Electronics. He taught at Amarillo College and the Amarillo Air Force Base. He assisted in designing the recital hall, band and choir room and radio control room at Amarillo College. He married Dorothy Jean Major in Groom on Jan. 29, 1939. Mr. Frederiksen owned and operated Amarillo Radio Service for 40 years, serving customers in the three-state area. He was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission, the Energy Research and Development Corporation and the Department of Energy before retiring after 42 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 731, Scottish Rite Bodies and First Presbyterian Church where he served as trustee, deacon and elder. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Gary Bruce, who was murdered in 1978; three brothers, Marvin, Orval and Leroy; and a sister, Ethel Marie Nunn. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ted Frederiksen and Paul Frederiksen, both of Amarillo; a brother, Earl Gene Frederiksen of San Angelo; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Boggs was born in Tularosa, N.M. He was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1978. He met and married Terra Gerard in 1981. They moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1990 and together they began a successful business, Doctor's Supply. He had many devoted friends and business associates. He lived up to his nickname, "Dennis the Menace." He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Ray Boggs in 1970 and Jewell Boggs Roberts in 2001; and by three brothers, Ronald Keith Boggs in 1969, Gary Wayne Boggs in 1955 and Steven Ray Boggs in 1985. Survivors include Terra, the mother of his sons, of Albuquerque; two sons, Brook and Brett, both of Albuquerque; four sisters, Gloria Elaine Coleman, Jerri Lynn Tyler, Julie Gayle Albright and Stephanie Boggs, all of Amarillo; three brothers, Larry Kent Boggs, Millas Andrew Boggs and Joel Dean Boggs, all of Amarillo; 10 nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and great-nephews. Ms. Cordova was born in Forrest City, Ark., and raised in Hereford. She moved to Amarillo in the early 1990s and was in the insurance business for more than 10 years. She enjoyed writing poetry, cooking, riding Harleys and most of all spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Cordova was preceded in death by her parents, James and Martha Lacomb; her grandmother and grandfather, James Lacomb Sr. and Beatrice Lacomb; and a brother, Terry Lacomb. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 28, 2003 Matias "Mat" Correa Reveles Matias "Mat" Correa Reveles, 82, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003. The Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Harold Waldow officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Mr. Reveles was born to Fabian Reveles and Perfecta Correa, both migrant workers, on Feb. 24, 1921, in Fowler, Calif. In 1944 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After the war he returned with his family to Jerez, Zac., Mexico, where he met and married Juana Soriano on May 20, 1949. Mat and his new family spent several years in Juarez, Mexico, before moving to Amarillo. He worked as a barber and later had his own landscaping business. His passion was fighting for justice and the underprivileged. He was extremely proud of both his Mexican and his United States heritage. As a political activist he founded Adelante as his voice for promoting justice. Mat was instrumental in bringing low-income housing to Amarillo. He also had a great love for writing and was an eloquent speaker. He captivated young, old, rich and poor with his great storytelling abilities. He will be remembered for the tremendous strength of character and passion for life with which he faced all adversity, especially his long and arduous battle with illness. He was a loving man who was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. Mr. Reveles was preceded in death by two sisters, Clemencia and Nemesia; and a brother, Leandro. Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Estela Reveles of White Plains, N.Y., Leticia Reveles and Silvia Reveles, both of Austin, Ofelia Reveles of Amarillo, Irene Tambos of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lidia Lynch of Wilmington, N.C.; eight sons, Ruben Reveles of Little Elm, Reynaldo Reveles, Hector Reveles, Lauro Reveles and Matias Reveles, all of Austin; Javier Reveles of Hays, Kan., Rodolfo Reveles of Trinidad, Colo. and Luis Daniel of Durham, N.C.; six sisters, Agapita, Maria, Candelaria, Fabiana, Celestina and Paula; two brothers, Anastacio Reveles and Juan Reveles; 22 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Blount was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Golf and was a resident of Memphis before moving to Hedley 23 years ago. He married Margaret Edna Morris on Sept. 13, 1946, in Fort Worth. He was a United States veteran of World War II and a charter member of Clarendon VFW Post No. 7782. He worked in a civil service job prior to his retirement. He was a Baptist. Mr. Blount was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy C. Blount in 1957 and Sheri Green in 2001.
