Johnson DECATUR, Ga. - Wilma A. Johnson, 59, died Nov. 22, 2003. Services will be held at noon Monday in Clifton Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Maurice Ward, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kennedy Memorial Gardens by Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson, a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away due to heart failure as a result of an accident at her home in Decatur, where she resided for more than 30 years. Her grandson was also injured and is successfully recovering. Along with the Drifter Sisters, Mrs. Johnson enjoyed many community service activities. Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Johnson Sr.; a daughter, Beth E. Jerry; two sons, Charles E. Johnson II and Duane E. Johnson; three grandchildren, Jamil, Ciana and Bryce; a sister, Karmyn Lott; a son-in-law, Kevin Jerry; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Johnson; and many close friends and family. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 30, 2003 Amarillo Sylvia Adell Coffey Sylvia Adell Coffey, 84, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in San Jacinto Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Coffey officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Buffalo Cemetery in Sayre, Okla., by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell Ave. Mrs. Coffey was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Kennific, Bryan County, Okla. She was the eighth of 12 children born to John Henry and Laura Maine Price. She married Claudie D. Coffey on Dec. 20, 1936, in Mayfield, Okla. During the earlier years of their marriage, the Coffeys moved to California to find work. Mr. Coffey became a foreman of a large farm, raising vegetables for the War effort during World War II. With the end of World War II, the Coffeys returned to Oklahoma, where they farmed until Mr. Coffey's death in 1978. Mrs. Coffey's earlier years were filled with the many duties of a farm wife and homemaker, and she even worked in the fields. After her two children were grown, she attended Tech School in Clinton, Okla., to become a physical therapist. She worked in the Sayre Hospital for many years, until her retirement in 1980. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Coffey moved to Amarillo to be near her son, Dr. Stan Coffey and his wife Glenda when he became pastor for a second term at San Jacinto Baptist Church. She was active in the church for almost 20 years and was a member of the Esther Sunday school class and the pastor's class. Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Henson and husband, Odos, of Stillwater, Okla.,; a son, Dr. Stan Coffey and wife, Glenda, of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Mrs. Kim Hall of Amarillo, Mark Henson of Tulsa, Okla., Scott Coffey of Amarillo, and Natalie Coffey Archer of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Haschke was born July 14, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, Neb., to Cyril and Anna Hartman Haschke. He graduated from Cedar Rapids High School and served in World War II in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Haschke moved to Umbarger, where he married Pauline Friemel on Jan. 17, 1945. They farmed and ranched west of Umbarger. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Umbarger Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn in 1966 and his wife in 1998. Mr. Yost was born in Gorham, Kan., on Nov. 1, 1918. He married Cecelia Rajewski in 1944 in Gorham. He worked for Amoco for 33 years and retired as a field foreman. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army in Africa and Italy. He received the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Perryton. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Alvord Cemetery in Alvord by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Wilborn was born June 19, 1918, in Wise County. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1939. He was an Army Air Corps veteran, serving with the 904th Signal Corps Battalion in England during World War II. He married Eileen Marshall on June 29, 1941, in Pampa. He worked for Cabot Corp. for more than 40 years as a research and development engineer, retiring on June 30, 1983. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. He was a past member of Pampa Lions Club and American Legion. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wilborn; and a daughter, Beverly Wilborn. Survivors include his wife; a son, William Craig Wilborn and wife, Nancy, of Austin; a granddaughter, Elisabeth Wilborn of Ithaca, N.Y.; two brothers, Edgar D. Les Hall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. William Horace Rivers was born to John Warren and Lillian Gertrude Hanson Rivers on April 21, 1915, in Snyder. He lived in the Canadian area since 1920. Mr. Rivers married Pauline Cook on Feb, 28, 1938, in Canadian. He was a ship builder during World War II in San Pedro, Calif. He owned Rivers Glass Shop and was a building contractor. Mr. Rivers was also an amateur archaeologist and discovered the Horace Rivers Archaeology Site on the Mathers Ranch. He was founder of the River Valley Museum and an active volunteer. Mr. Rivers was a member of the Methodist church and Masonic Lodge #855. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Warren Rivers and wife, Jane, of Canadian and Gordon Rivers and wife, Patricia, of Asheboro, N.C.; three daughters, Nancy Wallace and husband, Norrell, of Carterville, Ill., Mary Gilbert and husband, Ronnie, of Amarillo and Rilla Ferguson and husband, Ken, of Lubbock; one brother, Merle Rivers of Perris, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mr. Rodriguez was employed as a roofer the majority of his working life. He was a member of the Catholic church and enjoyed playing bingo.
