Rosary will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Cremation is by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Trujillo was a lifetime resident of Clovis and was on the undefeated 1973 state champion football team. He worked as a carman for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and at the time of his death was employed with Frozfruit as a supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; two daughters, Kendra Garcia Trujillo and Elena Diana Trujillo, both of Clovis; two sons, Mark Trujillo Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., and Francisco Thomas Concepcion Trujillo of Clovis; his parents, Tommy and Helen Trujillo of Clovis; two sisters, Phyllis Quintana and Maria "Pita" Gutierrez, both of Clovis; three brothers, Tommy Joe Trujillo and George Trujillo, both of Clovis, and Troy Trujillo of Amarillo; and two granddaughters. The family suggests memorials be to Our Lady of Guadalupe Youth Group in care of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Amarillo Gobe-News, Dec. 15, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere Carolyn Dehn GEORGETOWN - Carolyn Dehn, 66, formerly of Lubbock, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, in Austin. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in White Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Lubbock, with the Rev. Jerry Joplin officiating. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery by White Funeral Home. Mrs. Dehn was born June 11, 1937, in Tulia to Ted and Nell Tucker Tedford. She graduated from Amarillo High School and subsequently earned a BA at Texas Tech University in education and an MA in social services. She also completed work at West Texas A&M University and received an associate's degree in social services. She married Charles Dehn on July 8, 1955, in Jacksonville, Fla. To their union three children, Paul, Joseph and Kerri, were born. Early in her career, she taught middle school in Ralls for eight years. Later she worked at the Lubbock Regional Service Center for two years. Having a background in social services, Carolyn worked as a volunteer for the Amarillo Crisis Center for four years. Always hungry for knowledge, she was an avid reader and student of history. She loved to travel and experience each destination from a historical standpoint. She also enjoyed golf, softball and Tech athletics, especially the Lady Raiders. Her social involvements included working with the Elks Lodge and sponsoring the GAs at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Lubbock. Carolyn was a Baptist by faith. Due to failing health, she moved to Georgetown in 2001 to live with her daughter Kerri. She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Tedford on Dec. 13, 1986; a son, Joseph Dehn in 1999; and a brother, Dwain Tedford in 1992. Survivors include her husband, Charles of Jacksonville, Fla.; her mother, Nell Tedford of Lubbock; a son, Paul Dehn and wife, Scarlett, of Lubbock; a daughter, Kerri Dehn of Georgetown; and three precious grandchildren, Aimee, John and Allen Dehn. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 15, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amarillo Gene Woodman Gene Woodman, 69, of Canyon died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Arden Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Bigham, pastor, and the Rev. Richard McDole of Madison, Wis., officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Gould Cemetary, Gould, Okla. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors, 1702 Fifthth Ave. Mr. Woodman was born in Gould on Dec. 21, 1933. He graduated from Gould High School in 1952. An avid Oklahoma State University fan, he graduated from there in 1956 with a degree in agronomy and entomology. He married the love of his life, Jorene "Jo" Heflin, on Aug. 23, 1956, in Hollis, Okla. A corporal in the Army, he served his country in Iceland during the Cold War. He led a rich and interesting life. A Farm Bureau Agent in Altus during the early 1960s, he later moved his family to Clayton, N.M., where he instilled his passion for science in hundreds of students as a teacher. He moved to Clarendon in the early 1980s as an agricultural consultant and later moved to his present home of Canyon. Gene was known for his devotion to his family, his humor and his love for the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lige and Lucille Woodman, and two brothers, Charles Woodman and J. Walter Woodman. Survivors include his wife of 47 years; three sons, Eddie Woodman of Kenosha, Wis., Bart Woodman and wife, Micki, of Dumas and Brad Woodman and wife, Julie, of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Ruth Knight Hill of Dumas; and a brother, Jim Woodman of Abilene. His legacy of love will continue through his six grandchildren, Matt, Chois, Brandel, Kami, Sydnee and Braden. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Dr. Stan Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Hall married Bill Hall on June 7, 1955, at Fort Worth. She was the nursery coordinator for San Jacinto Baptist Church for many years. She also worked in the book keepping department at Team Bank until her retirement in 1992. She was a faithful member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She loved bunnies and all children. She brought joy to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband in May 2003. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Alice Sullivan of Kilgore; Jim Stovall of Kilgore; two sons, John Mark Hall and wife, Lisa Lynne, and Stan Hall and wife, Michelle, all of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and five great-granchildren. Mr. Hernandez was born in Beeville. He owned and operated a landscape business. He loved to play and umpire softball. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eliso Hernandez, of Olton; and a stepbrother, Walley Hernandez, of Lubbock. Survivors include his mother, Marcelina Hernandez of Amarillo; three sons, Benito Hernandez III and Angelino Hernandez, both of Olton, and Trinity Hernandez of Amarillo; two daughters, Aumieda Martinez of Plainview and Cynthia Hernandez of Olton; three stepsons, Thomas Humphries of Michigan, Tony Humphries of Oregon and Terry Humphries of Amarillo; three brothers, Genero Hernandez of Amarillo, Manuel Hernandez of Cactus and Johnny Hernandez of Hereford; five sisters, Frances Garza of Austin, Delma Tarver of Mansfield, Mary Helen Back of Austin, Ninfa Silves of Amarillo and Sandra Barrentos of Plainview; one stepsister, Rosa Hernandez of Fort Worth; one stepbrother, Emilio Hernandez of Fort Worth; and 17 grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 15, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amarillo Herbert F. Kuhlman Herbert F. Kuhlman, 81, of Canyon died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with Mike Kuhlman and the Rev. Scott Greer officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Canyon. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors, 1702 Fifth Ave. Mr. Kuhlman was born in 1922 on the same spread in Randall County where he still lived. He married Jeannie Steinke in Amarillo on June 5, 1946. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving his country during World War II. He had always been involved in agriculture and remained active in the industry with his sons, Mike and Gary. He was also part owner of Dawn Custom Cattle Feeders and was a stockholder and director of the First State Bank of Happy, Canyon. Over the years, he was honored with the Randall County Top Hand Award, Randall County Outstanding Result Demonstrator and Randall County Outstanding Conservationist. He was a member of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association, the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and was a 35-year director of the Consumers Fuel Cooperative. He belonged to countless other professional associations that promote the agriculture industry. He always believed in helping our youth get their start in agriculture and served as a youth organization supporter for 4-H and FFA programs and as a dedicated volunteer for the Tri-State High School Rodeo Association. He was also instrumental in working with Dr. Charles Smallwood to acquire Nance Ranch for West Texas A&M University. Never one to shy away from hard work and hard times, he volunteered his labor, equipment and materials to make the Nance Ranch an incredible asset to WTAMU. He mentored the university's agriculture students, hired many of them for his own operation and launched their successful careers to assure trhe industry thrives in the next generation. Very few Tri-State residents embody the Western lifestyle with the integrity and immense accomplishments of Mr. Kuhlman. For all of his 81 years, he was a true cowboy in spirit and deed, and in 2001, the Board of Directors of the Tri- State Fair honored him as Cowboy of the Year. He attributed his success to his family, the Panhandle land and his God. His credo was, "You work the land, you work close to God, and you work hard!" He was a member of Paramount Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Jean Kuhlman in 1951, and a grandson, C.M. Kuhlman in 1996. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Ortiz and husband, Phil, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Mike Kuhlman and wife, Donna, and Gary Kuhlman and wife, Debbie, all of Canyon; two brothers, Alvin Kuhlman and wife, Lisa, of Canyon and Jim Kuhlman and wife, Ann, of Mason City, Iowa; three grandchildren, Nicci Howard and husband, Matt, of San Antonio, Amy Ortiz of Albuquerque, N.M., and Ashlee Kuhlman of Canyon; three stepgrandchildren, Brandi Miller and husband, Jesse, of Chambersburg, Va., Justin Reed of Amarillo and David Ortiz and wife, Fabiola, of Alexandria, Va.; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Tyler Warner of Chambersburg, Va.
