Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with Jim Shelburn, pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell Ave. Mrs. Chapman was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Honey Grove. She was a homemaker and a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Carole Reynolds of Amarillo; a son, Kendal Chapman of Newnan, Ga.; two sisters, Pauline Shelton and Ruby Mask, both of Denison; two brothers, J.W. Hoover of Denison and Bill Hoover of San Diego; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 14, 2003 Shirley Gambrel Shirley Gambrel, 65, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, in Mansfield, Ohio. Osage St. Mrs. Gambrel was born in Blanket. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She worked as a teacher's aide at Caprock High School for 13 years. She was a member of First Foursquare Church. She married Glen "Bud" Gambrel in 1955 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Bigelow of Galion, Ohio; two sons, Stephen Gambrel and Scott Gambrel, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Dolores Catron of Amarillo, Emily Pickard of Littlefield and Joyce Akens of Atlanta; two brothers, Wesley Jacops of Amarillo and Teddy Jacops of Littlefield; and seven grandchilren, Michelle King, Stephanie Osborne, Kisha Osborne, Valerie Osborne, B.J. She worked for Levi Strauss for 28 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Christian Lighthouse Church. She married Ronald Gann in 1964. She was a Dumas resident since 1973, moving there from Muleshoe. Services have already taken place. Mr. Satterwhite was a retired grocery broker and a longtime resident of Amarillo before moving to Lubbock. He was a graduate of Texas Tech and served four years in the Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Beth; two daughters; a son, Marc and wife, Rebecca, of Louisville, Ky.; and a brother, William of Amarillo. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mrs. Stephenson was born Oct. 31, 1918, in Itasca. She married C. Carey Stephenson in 1947 in Waco. They moved to Claude that same year and lived in Claude until moving to Amarillo a short time ago. She was a long-time member of the Home Demonstration Club and the 55 Plus Club. She was also a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Claude and was a former youth director and involved in the United Methodist Women for many years. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a grandson-in-law, Chad Smith, and a great- grandson, Collin Allen. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda Jacquez of Clovis, N.M., and Louise Moore and husband, Jack, of Amarillo; two sons, Dee Herring and wife, Pat, of Amarillo, and David Stephenson and wife, Rhonda, of Canyon; a brother, Charles Farrell and wife, Janelle, of Cleburne; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Waynoka Cemetery, Waynoka, Okla., with visitation to follow at Marshall Funeral Home. Miss Meier was born April 18, 1919, in Waynoka to Charles and Beatrice Meier. She spent her career working for TWA as a reservation clerk. She moved to Canyon in 1980 to be near her sister. She was active in First United Methodist Church and numerous club activities. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bartley Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Shamrock Cemetery with the Rev. Horace P. Abbott of Plainview officiating. Mrs. Garrett was born Jan. 3, 1919, in Hemphill County to Wyman Anthony and Ethel Agnes George Powledge. She grew up in Canadian and Shamrock and graduated from Shamrock High School in 1936. She married Artemas E. "Art" Garrett in Shamrock on Sept. 3, 1938. They lived in East Texas, Amarillo and Lubbock before moving to Plainview in 1961. Marguerite was an artist, seamstress, homemaker and mother in addition to working for numerous local businesses, including Perry Brothers, Broadway Clothiers, Jack and Jill, Kristie's and Munroe Drapery Shop. Her expertise in sewing and her creativity enabled her to open Marguerite's Creations in 1982. She was a member of Trinity Grace Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 1970, and three brothers, Lloyd Powledge, William (Bill) Powledge and Leonard Powledge. Survivors include two sons, Don Garrett, and wife, Barbara, of Charlotte, N.C., and Joe Bob Garrett, and wife, Gayleen, of Plainview; and two grandsons, Lynton Paul Garrett and Layton Phil Garrett of Plainview.
