Baugh Charles E. Baugh, 76, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Comanche Trail Church of Christ with Loren Harper, minister, and Jerry Klein officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mr. Baugh was born Oct. 20, 1927, in Negley to Newt Baugh and Lennie Poteet. He married Sue Kizer on July 30, 1950, in Childress. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of active duty. Mr. Baugh was an insurance agent with Farmers Insurance for 27 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 731, on the board of trustees at Amarillo Christian School and a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Bryant; two brothers, Sonny Bo Baugh and Tom Baugh. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Ruby Horn of Talco; a brother, Reggie Medley of Schulenburg; two grandchildren, Amanda Davis of Amarillo and Erick Davis of Goldsboro, N.C.; and a nephew, Allen Brown of Houston. The family suggests memorials be to Children's Emergency Home in care of Comanche Trail Church of Christ, 2700 E. 34th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79103. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 24, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Billy Jack "Poo Paw" Landers Billy Jack "Poo Paw" Landers, 65, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Quanah Memorial Park in Quanah with Glendell Smith, chaplain of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital, officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Landers was born and raised in Quanah. He married Barbara Jowers on June 3, 1960. In 1971, they moved to Boys Ranch, where they were house parents for four years. From 1975 to 1997, he was custodial administrator at Boys Ranch before moving to Amarillo. From 1998 to present, he was employed at Puckett Place Apartments as service supervisor. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Steven Shannon and wife, Sherie, of Dumas, Chris Alex Landers and wife, Alecia, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mark Lewyn Landers and wife, Shea, and James Kent Landers and wife, Peggy, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Horace Kent Landers and James Walter Landers Jr., both of Borger; two sisters, Doris Ferguson and Jo Purcell, both of Borger; his mother-in-law, Dora Jowers of Quanah; five granddaughters; and five grandsons. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Panhandle Cemetery with the Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Patterson was born in Eastland. She married Richard "Pat" Patterson in Borger on Aug. 17, 1951. She worked as a secretary in the oil and gas industry until her retirement in 1985. She and her husband then moved to Clarendon, where they raised cattle for 15 years before moving to Amarillo in 2000. They had been members of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Clarendon. They had been married for 51 years when Mr. Patterson died on Jan. 5, 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Seymour and Joy Howard, both of Fritch; a son, Richard Patterson Jr. of Sugar Land; seven grandchildren, Michael Armstrong, Christopher Armstrong, Melissa Howard, Kristi Howard, Robyn Patterson, Jonathan Patterson and Hannah Patterson; and a great-grandchild, Bryna Armstrong. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church of Edmonson with Jimmy Neff, minister, and Travis Hart of First Baptist Church of Plainview officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Duning Funeral Home. Mrs. Witten was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Plainview. She married Clyde Witten on Sept. 28, 1935, in Plainview. Survivors include a son, Jack Witten of Edmonson; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Bill Witten Scholarship Fund at Wayland Baptist University or a favorite charity. She worked in the Perryton Independent School District cafeteria until 1978. Mr. King was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Quanah. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. Survivors include his wife, Dude; a daughter, Carolyn Boyd of Eldorado, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Quanah Parker Nursing Home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Bowie Street Church of Christ with Tom Anderson, minister of Memphis Church of Christ, and Rick Popejoy, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis was born May 17, 1917, to J.R. and Ethel Lide Saunders on the Dial Ranch in Hall County. She married L.A. Davis on Jan. 3, 1935, in Hall County. Drucilla was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.A. Davis in 1995; three brothers, R.M., J.D. and Wayne Saunders; and a sister, Laverne Williams. Survivors include a son, Danny L. Davis and wife, Jackie, of Wellington; two sisters, Latrice Butler of Graham and Syvilla Lemons of Memphis; four sisters- in-law, Margaret Holland of Hedley, Iris Davis of Memphis, Louise Hodge of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Cressy Fay Nester of Show Low, Ariz.; three grandsons, Jerry Dan Davis and wife, Penny, and Gary Don Davis and wife, Amanda, all of Wellington, and Danny L. Davis Jr. and wife, Becky, of McKinney; and seven great-grandchildren, Macy, Cassidy, Jalee, Natalie, Gabriella, Dallten and Tobi Davis. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Rubio was born Nov. 2, 1953, in San Antonio. He married Lucia Mondragon on Feb. 8, 1975, in Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sonya Rubio and Manuela Brown, both of Clovis; three grandchildren; a sister, Jane Garcia of Clovis; a half-sister, Marie Sanchez of San Antonio; and three half-brothers, Frankie Canalas, Ray Orozco and Roy Orozco, all of San Antonio. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. in Canyon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home. Mr. Bird was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Vernon. He worked as a driller in the oil field and barbered in Hobbs, N.M. He served with the Navy in World War II. He belonged to Canyon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include a sister, Mary Hamilton and husband, Joe, of Amarillo; two daughters, Edna Ruth Burgess and Eleanor Elsie Thompson, both of Hobbs; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
