Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Dana Moore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Horner was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Liberty Hill, Tenn. to Doak and Tennie Horner. He attended college in Tennessee before enlisting in the Army Air Corps on Sept. 16, 1940. He was a pilot and served proudly as a flight instructor until his discharge Nov. 6, 1945. He was a member of the 232nd AAF BUD AAF in Dalhart. He met his wife, Inez, in Amarillo and they were married Jan. 30, 1946. Mr. Horner served the city of Amarillo as a firefighter for several years before starting his lifelong career with Santa Fe Railway. He retired with 38 years of service in July 1984. He was an active member of the UTU, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and other organizations. He was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was an active part of his church family. People who knew him knew a kind, caring, compassionate and generous man. He was an honest man of integrity. He earned the American Defense Service Award and the Good Conduct Medal while serving his country. He will be buried with full military honors. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-grandson, James Ray Gregory. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janice Prater and husband, Larry, of Cedarville, Ark. and Jackie Gregory of Dallas; a son, Jim Horner of Lawton, Okla.; six grandchildren, Larry Jack Gregory of Amarillo, Paula Wolf of Galatin, Tenn., Justin Gregory of McKinney, Bill Prater of Rogers, Ark. and Glenanna O'Mara and Shanna Davis, both of Cedarville; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and loving friends and church family. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Patterson was born in Shreveport, La., and was raised in Hayward, Calif. He had been a resident of Amarillo for 15 years. He married Tina Northrup in 1995 in Amarillo. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Bird was born in Pampa. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949. He retired from Binswanger Glass after 44 years in the glass industry. He was a member of Painters and Glaziers Local Union and First Baptist Church. He married Sue Lemons on June 23, 1973, in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary D. Bird of Canyon; a daughter, Jackie F. Ledbetter of Amarillo; a brother, Coyett Bird of Amarillo; a sister, Toy Lea LaMere of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; three grandchildren, Casey, Tiffany and Jeffery; and two great-grandchildren, Cammie and Austin. Bell St. Mr. Justus was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Greer County, Okla. He was in the military from 1942 to 1946 serving as a cook in the Army in India. He was a member of the Golden Glove Boxers and he was vice president of the 45 and Up Group. He married Helen Justus in 1983. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Thomas Justus and Liddie Ray Justus; his wife, Dorothy Atchison Justus; a son Kenneth Odell Justus; and two brothers, Otis Justus and Arron Justus. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Yvonne Ward of Arlington; a son, David Franklin Justus of Las Vegas; two brothers, Eural T. Justus of Lubbock and O. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Barnett was born April 17, 1911. She married Guy Barnett in 1935. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church where she was a child-care worker for 16 years and also at First Baptist Church for 21 years. She was a member of Amarillo Chapter No. 787, Order of Eastern Star. She lived her life by the Golden Rule. She was preceded in death by her husband July 9, 1958; a brother, Jack Shaffer of Arnett, Okla.; and four sisters, Vera Twaddell, Edith Hathway, Edna Chase and Grace Mitchell. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Fitch and husband, Woody; a grandson, Richard Fitch and wife, Pennye, of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Dr. Cynthia Fitch-Steenson and husband, Andrew, of Seattle and Catherine Fitch-York and husband, David, of Houston; eight great-grandchildren, Leslie, Ashlie and Matt Fitch, David, Joshua and Zachery Steenson and Parker and Nathan York; two nephews, J.B. Mr. Holloway was born in Lavon to Clark and Lenora Holloway on July 11, 1933. He graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1950. He married Betty Tooley in Odell on Dec. 6, 1956. He served in the Navy. He retired from Pantex after many years of service. His life revolved around his family and family was what was most important to him. He was preceded in death by a sister; a brother; and his parents. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Reece and husband, Rick, of Canyon; a son, Joe Holloway and wife, Leanne, of Dumas; a brother, Lee Holloway and wife, Sissy, of Iowa Park; and six grandchildren, Carissa, Matt and Mark Holloway and Kelsie, Jordan and Hunter Reece. She worked for Dr. Joe Lipscomb and Dr. Don Goldston for many years in Amarillo. She was a longstanding member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Stine moved to the Earth community in 1943. She had taught Sunday school at Earth Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Haydon of the Sunnyside community and Beverly Watson of Pampa; a sister, Thelma Tapley of California; a brother, Eddie Ballard of Oakland, Calif.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Walker was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Denison. She moved to Denison from Farwell in 1993.
