Love DUMAS - James G. Love, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with Larry Evans Jr., minister of Stratford Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Love was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Tucumcari, N.M. He was a Dumas resident since 1957. Survivors include a son, Jim R. Love of Amarillo; three daughters, Linda L. Love and Kaye Harris, both of Dumas, and Cynthia Henley of Stratford; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Moser, 64, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in Shattuck, Okla. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Higgins Church of the Nazarene with Jimmy Morris, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck. Mr. Moser lived in Higgins most of his life, where he was a self-employed plumber and TV dish installer. Survivors include his wife, Sarah; two sons, Jimmy Smith of Glazier and Chris Smith of Canadian; two daughters, Margaret Baldwin of Pampa and Kellie Smith of Higgins; three brothers, L.A. Mrs. Jones was born May 21, 1918, in Wolfe City the daughter of Ivan and Bertha Barnett. She married Nolan Jones on April 14, 1937, in Greenville. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a member of the Central Church of Christ in Hereford. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Elwood Jones of Greenville, Paul Jones of Wharton and James Jones of Celeste; two daughters, Linda Wall of Plains and Judy Sessums of Midland; two brothers, William Barnett and Ray Barnett, both of Calero, Okla.; a sister, Myrtle Watson of Garland; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Riley, 77, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories in Clarendon with Jay Riley, a family member of Pampa, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Mr. Riley was born June 24, 1926, in Seagraves. He worked for several years at the Texaco Refinery in Amarillo, then was a cattle rancher. He later worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in Memphis, and then ran a trading post and antique shop in Memphis before his retirement. He married Lola Rogers on June 30, 2000, in Amarillo. For more than 50 years he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janice Ann Evans of Lubbock and Vickie Lynn Riley of Amarillo; a son, James Douglas Riley Jr. of Atlanta; two sisters, Judy Womack of Hartshorne, Okla., and Pauline Dean of Ceres, Calif.; a brother, Jiggs Riley of Susanville, Calif.; three grandchildren, Timothy Chad Brandt of Huron, Ohio, and Tana Jade Williamson and Sara Lynn Rangel, both of Lubbock; two great-grandchildren, Phillip Manuel Wigley and Dylan Gage Barbosa, both of Lubbock; and three stepchildren, JoAnn Rogers, Wanda Rogers and Jim Rogers, all of Amarillo. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 31, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Loyd E. Sweatt Loyd E. Sweatt, 93, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004. Vigil services were at 7 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Prayer services will be at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Pat Carathers of St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Sweatt was born in Mitchell County on Aug. 28, 1910. He attended school in Westbrook and worked on local farms and ranches until the summer of 1930. He then traveled to New Mexico and Arizona to work as a cowboy until he joined the military in May 1941. Mr. Sweatt served in World War II with the 51th Engineers Combat Battalion in Europe from September 1943 until October 1945, receiving an honorable discharge. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He married Winifred Hayes on Nov. 11, 1945, in Redford, N.Y. Upon completion of his military service, he worked for 23 years for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service, retiring in September 1975. His retirement years were spent in Pampa and Amarillo. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a grandson; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Bea Teichmann of Amarillo and Deborah Sweatt of Cedar Crest, N.M.; two sons, Mike Sweatt of Bryan and Greg Sweatt of Parker, Colo.; a sister, Maxine Morris of Colorado City; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
