Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Lowry, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Helm was born May 13, 1933, in Childress County. He married Betty Sue Spencer on Aug. 27, 1955, in Memphis. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1956. He worked for Pampa News as a printer from December 1956 until 1971. He worked for IRI as a printer from 1971 until his retirement in 1994. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Helm, George Helm and John Helm; a sister, Betty Joe Helm; and a granddaughter, Kristen Sue Garner. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melinda Sue Scott and husband, Marty, and Melissa Rae Garner and husband, Terry, all of Pampa; a son, Terry Allen Helm of Pampa; a sister, Ruby Louise Smallwood of Liberal, Kan.; three brothers, Aubrey Helm of Liberal, Leon Helm of Memphis and Jack Helm of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren, Brandon Scott and wife, Marie, Cassi Shephard and husband, Jon, Shalyn Garner, Teryn Garner, Ashley Helm and Bobby Helm, all of Pampa, and Heather Pierce and husband, Kyle, of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren, Bailie Scott, Emily Scott, Abligail Scott and Jaryn Shephard, all of Pampa; two brothers-in-law; and several sisters-in-law. Mrs. Tucker was born Oct. 4, 1908, to William and Mamy Bray in San Angelo. She married H.C. Tucker in June 1948 in Vernon. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 in the European Theater. Reid Jr., 76, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Ben Mathers of Canadian and the Rev. Les Hall, pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. Reid was born in the old hospital in Canadian to Joe and Eura Reid on Nov. 21, 1927. J.B. was employed by First State Bank of Pueblo, N.M., after graduating from the University of Texas in 1950. He married Carol Chaney in 1956 at Polk Street Methodist Church in Amarillo. J.B. was employed by First State Bank in Canadian before going into business with his father at Reid Chevrolet. In 1971, he sold the garage and opened Reid Insurance Agency, retiring in 2001. J.B. was a lifelong member of Canadian United Methodist Church, Rotary, Masonic Lodge, River Valley Museum, Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and National Auto Dealers Association. J.B. had been a resident of Abraham Memorial Home for the past nine months. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Reid and John Henry Reid; and a son, Britt Reid. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Candy Furgason and husband, Doyle, of Amarillo and Lisa Betts and husband, Jimmy, of Vega; his grandchildren, Dax Robinett, Megan Betts, Reid Betts, Tara Reid and Justin Reid; two sisters, Eura Mae Garett and husband, Johnny, and Grace Ann Barnard and husband, Joe Bill; two brothers, Jerry Reid of Canadian and Jimmy Reid; and his faithful companion, Farley. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Sims was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Van Alstyne. She had lived in Lefors and Pampa since 1946. She married Hubert Sims on Jan. 20, 1946, in Dallas. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Lefors. She was an avid musician, playing rhythm guitar with many area musicians for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; a sister, Virginia Sloan; a brother, Jack Coffey; and a grandson, Daniel Sims. Survivors include four sons, Dickey Sims of Hereford, Gary Sims of Pampa, Ronnie Sims of Lefors and Hubert Lynn Sims of Olney; three daughters, Nancy Dunlap Brown of Amarillo, Lou Ann Padavich of Canyon and Jill Marie Dutton of Grapevine; two brothers, Charles Coffey of Pittsburg, Texas, and Loy Lee Coffey of Huntsville; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ms. Kemper was born and raised in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1993 and attended Amarillo College. She attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church and was a member of "Sisters in Christ" Bible Study Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Barbara Kemper in 2003. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Bryant was born Jan. 17, 1961, in Amarillo. He had lived the past 22 years in Dallas with his partner of nine years. He loved life, gardening and Christmas. Through his care and sense of humor, Robby brought together his family and friends even with the cats. There was a lesson to be learned from him that we must all try harder to laugh, love and appreciate all people. We have not lost him for he will forever be within each of us that knew and loved him. So the next time we think of Robby, which will be often, hug someone. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Koenig-Hurt owned and operated a five-acre pecan farm in Las Cruces. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Deming. Survivors include her husband, Jim F. Hurt; two sons, M. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Marshall First Baptist Church in Marshall, Ark. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel in Amarillo, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be in Marshall by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. Mr. Mays was born July 5, 1906, to James Franklin and Dora Box Mays in Comanche County, Texas. He lived most of his youth with his parents and five brothers and sisters in the Arkansas Ozarks. When he was 18, he went to St. Louis and worked in a bank for eight years, went to night school and passed the state bar examination. In 1934, when all of the banks were closed, he returned to the Ozarks and went into the automobile finance business with his family. In 1936, he married Ruth Calbert, whom he had met while in St. Louis, and they moved with Armon's family to Amarillo. Armon, his brother, Bill Mays, and nephew, Troy Mays, were in the finance business there until 1966. Armon had a small investment business for another 30 years. For many years he was treasurer of the Audubon Society and a member of First Baptist Church. Armon was known to many as the man who, until his was 85, walked the two miles from his home to his office downtown and back, sometimes twice a day. He had many friends along the way. Survivors include a sister, Lavada Hampton of Alamogordo, N.M.; a daughter, Marilyn Mays-Shelp of the Lewisville area; his grandchildren, Elaine Williams, Katherine and Daniel Williams and Vivian Stewart, all of the Lewisville area; a son-in-law, Phillip Shelp of the Lewisville area; and a grandson-in-law, Tim Williams of the Lewisville area. He was a member of Fielder Road Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a security guard.
