Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel with Monsignor Rex Nicholl of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Martinez was born in Coahuila, Mexico. He had been a resident of Amarillo for 37 years. He married Lucy Kennedy in Amarillo in 1993. He retired from Pantex after 31 years of service. He was an avid bowler and loved to write and play music on his guitar. He was preceded in by his twin brother, Guillermo Martinez in 1986 and a sister, Elisa Zamora in 1994. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jesse Martinez Jr. and partner, Steve Winnett, of Houston, Willie Martinez and wife, Pat, and Dickie Martinez and wife, Debbie, all of Brownwood and Mark Martinez and wife, Amanda, of Haskell; two daughters, Darcy Neill and husband, Rusty, and Sara Kennedy, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Elinda Martinez of Amarillo and Eudelia Armendariz of Snyder; two brothers, Noe Martinez of Plainview and Enrique Martinez of Cresthill, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home and at 3300 Beacon. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Culp was born in Hutchinson County and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1930. She married Sam G. Culp in 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 20, 1984. Survivors include a sister, Lila Richardson of Amarillo; and two nephews, Tom Bannister of Amarillo and Pat Easley of Weatherford. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Mrs. Clason married Chester C. Clason in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1952. She moved to Amarillo in 1976. Survivors include her husband; a son, Richard Lee Clason and wife, Tanya K., of Panhandle; a daughter, Karen S. Evenson and husband, Duane F., of Amarillo; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Georgia St. Mr. McGee completed honorable service with the Marine Corps in 1970 after serving in the Vietnam War. He worked as a mason in the state of Texas for 25 years. Survivors include his mother, Norma Jeanne McGee of Amarillo; and three brothers, John Joseph McGee Jr. of Balch Springs, William Bernard McGee of Coppell and James Michael McGee of Alburquerque, N.M. Prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. today and 7 p.m. Tuesday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Saint Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Valdez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Saint Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Miss Flores was born Feb. 28, 1986, in Amarillo to John Flores Jr. and Darlene Noecker Flores. She was a senior at Hereford High School and had completed all her graduation requirements in December to receive her diploma in May 2004. Survivors include her parents; four brothers, Nathan Flores and Roger Flores, both of Amarillo, John Flores of Redwing, Minn., and Jonathan Flores of Hereford; a sister, Angela Flores of Hereford; and her grandparents, Jerome and Doris Noecker of Hartington, Neb., and Guadalupe Flores of Hereford. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 23, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- W.D. Mitchell WHEELER - W.D. Mitchell, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ricky Carstensen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Mitchell was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Gageby to Christopher Douglas and Essie Powell Mitchell. At an early age, his family moved to Goodlett where he attended school and graduated from high school. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1939 until 1945 during World War II. He moved back to Wheeler in 1945 where he worked for Owens Texaco station for several years and was a Borden Milk distributor until 1965. In 1965 he founded and operated the M and M Gin and was also a farmer and rancher. He married Mary Willoughby on Aug. 3, 1972, in Wheeler. He was a former member of the Wheeler Independent School District Board of Trustee. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was Sunday school superintendent for several years. He was also a member of the American Legion and the McLean County Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Parlee Helton Mitchell in May 1964. Survivors include his wife; a son, Skip Lovejoy and wife, Jody, of Claremore, Okla.; three daughters, Carolyn Hefley and husband, Jerry, Toni Kuehler and husband, Wayne, and Machille Henson and husband, Randy, all of Wheeler; three brothers, C.C. Mitchell of Amarillo, Jack Mitchell of Pampa and Joe Mitchell of White Deer; a sister, Barb Meadows of Briscoe; nine grandchildren, Shawn and R.C. Mr. Davis was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II, serving in the Philippines. Morrow Stewart, 61, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jim Aveni, pastor of Saint John The Baptist Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Mrs. Stewart was born April 15, 1942, in Goodnight in Armstrong County and came to Clarendon in 1945. She married Norman L. Stewart on Nov. 18, 1968, in Amarillo. She was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax preparer for several years and worked for the Clarendon News from 1988 to 1994 and part-time in the school cafeteria from 1980 to 1989. She was a member of WIBC Bowling Congress, the 600 Bowling Club and First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cassandra Watson and husband, Shane, of Amarillo; a son, Jonathan Stewart and wife, Crystal, of Amarillo; four sisters, Lucy Torres of Memphis, Ina Blassingame of Mineral Wells, and Mary Brown and Rosey Meyer, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Ira Kenneth Morrow, Earl Morrow and John Tom Morrow, all of Clarendon; four grandchildren, Roger Coby Braddock, Quinton Sean Stewart, Desirae Row and Madison Nichole Stewart, all of Amarillo; and a great-grandson, Kyson Braddock of Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Citizens Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Ivey Edwards, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors. Miss Buntin was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Clarendon to Fred A. and Eunice Lenora Kutch Buntin and was a lifetime Clarendon resident. She attended Clarendon schools and received an associate of arts degree from West Texas State University. She later briefly attended North Texas College. She was employed at the USDA office in Clarendon for several years before her retirment. She had devoted much of her life to civic organizations. She was instrumental in acquiring the Moore and McClellan Little League baseball fields. She served on the Citizens Cemetery Board and was a membor of Friends of the Library. Volunteering was a long time activity for her. She was a volunteer at Saint Anthony's Hospital, BSA Hospital and the VA Hospital in Amarillo. She was a member of and regularly attended First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Saints Roost Museum Board, Methodist Women, a bridge club and the Clarendon College Alumni and Reunion Board. Her grandfather, P.A. Buntin, established the first funeral home in the Panhandle in Clarendon. Survivors include several cousins, Nancy and Doyle Hanbury, Ann and Bruce Hallmark, Ronnie Hanbury, Becky Younger, Mark Hanbury, Carren Raney, Cassie Weldon, Cullen Hallmark, Elizabeth Hallmark, Suzanna Hallmark, Jim Hallmark; her beloved dogs, Samantha and Jezebel; and many, many dear friends. Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery in Springlake by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Axtell earned a master's degree in library science from Peabody College. She also taught school for 21 years. Mr. Newman lived in Holliday, Texas, his entire life until he retired from Archer County, Texas, Precinct No. 1 and moved to Enos in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a son, James Johnson of Amarillo; two daughters, Theresa Shipman and Jackie Hanson, both of Wichita Falls, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney. Except for a brief tour of duty in the Merchant Marines during World War II, Mr. Calahan farmed in the South Plains community. He was an active member of South Plains Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bean Calahan; a daughter, Beth Russell of Liberal, Kan.; three sons, Randy Calahan of South Plains, Jerry Calahan of Canyon and Johnny Calahan of Stephenville; a sister, Helen Karr of Lockney; a brother, H.S.
