Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Ennis came to Amarillo from Florida with her husband, Leroy, who worked for Santa Fe Railway. She was a part of the first graduating class of the LVN program at Amarillo College and served as president of the Association of LVNs for two terms. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 1970. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Sue Ennis of Amarillo. Georgia St. Mrs. Dryden was born in Tyler on Aug. 20, 1904. She earned her teaching certificate at Baylor-Belton College. She taught school in Elida, N.M. She married Gilbert Ridings in 1926 in Portales, N.M. She and her husband co- owned the Dodge-Plymouth dealership in Breckenridge for many years. She was elected superintendent of schools in Breckenridge and served in that capacity until her retirement. She married R. Foy Dryden in 1979. After her marriage to Foy, she moved to Amarillo where she was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ridings, in 1975; and her husband, Foy Dryden, in 1996. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Peggy Collins of Canyon and Barbara Madison of College Station; a brother, Eugene Parker of Tyler; and several nieces and nephews, including Douglas Moreland and Madge Phillips, both of Amarillo. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, 5th Ave. and Pierce St. The next to the youngest of 12 siblings, Mrs. Cox was born in Gonzalez to Lillie Augusta Schwab Steen Parks and Henry Parks. She moved to Amarillo in 1919. In 1931, she graduated from Amarillo High School and on June 4, 1932, she married Ray Allen Cox in Clovis, N.M. After selling Panhandle Transfer in 1962, she worked at KIXZ Radio, Tascosa Country Club and Swift and Company. In 1971 the Amarillo Business Women's Association named her Woman of the Year. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Paula Hudson and husband, Ed, of Amarillo and Linda Asbill of Tomball; four grandchildren, E. Upon graduation from Claude High School, he attended Lubbock Christian College and earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1969 from West Texas A&M University. He married Mary Nell Britten in 1973. He worked in the agricultural industry as a district sales manager for 28 years. His love of farming and extensive knowledge of the seed industry earned him numerous awards and honors. His family would like to thank the many business dealers throughout the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma and New Mexico who contributed so much to his successful career. More importantly, they supported him through his long illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Crownover. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mr. Price was born Nov. 11, 1928, in Tulia. He attended schools in Amarillo and California before serving in the Navy and Navy Reserve during World War II and the Air Force during the Korean conflict. Recently retired as Potter County Court at Law No.1 bailiff, he also served as an investigator in the Potter County Attorney's Office. He also served as a Potter County deputy sheriff, an Amarillo police officer, a private investigator and worked with his father who owned Price Armored Car Service in Amarillo. He also retired with more than 20 years of federal service with the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Hawaii, Florida and Guam during which time he received the FAA Meritorious Service Award for his dedicated amateur radio work during Typhoon Karen on Nov. 11, 1962. His hobbies included amateur radio, commercial private pilot, golf, reading and being with his family. He married Corda Jean Kemper on Nov. 24, 1954, in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlie Cecil Price and Gladys Beatrice Stephens Price Wheeler. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 29, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Jerry Owen Williams Jerry Owen Williams, 69, of Canyon died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, in Amarillo. Mr. Williams was born Nov. 17, 1934, in Canyon to Owen and Pauline Hill Williams. He attended public school in Canyon and received his bachelor of arts degree in speech and theater and a master's of education in communication disorders from West Texas A&M University. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army stationed at Fort Bliss. He taught speech and theater in Plainview public schools and served as a dramatic judge for Interscholastic League competition throughout the Panhandle. Following the classroom experience, he embarked on an additional career in speech pathology with Amarillo Speech and Hearing Center, Amarillo Independent School District and the Regional Education Program for the Deaf. He held the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech Hearing and Language Association and was licensed by the state of Texas in Speech and Language Pathology. His acting career included numerous productions at Branding Iron Theater at West Texas A&M University, Amarillo Little Theatre, Amarillo Opera, Amarillo Dinner Theater, and radio and television commercials, in addition to commercials for the Texas Lottery Commission. He was best known throughout the Southwest for his leading role for 26 years as Tucker Yelldell in the award-winning Paul Green Musical Drama, "TEXAS," in Palo Duro Canyon. He was an accomplished storyteller and a member of numerous local, regional and national storytelling organizations. He and his storytelling partner, Ruth Holladay, produced numerous recordings. As a reflection of his expanded talents, he was a certified antiques appraiser, an accomplished potter and an antique store owner in Canyon. He was always generous with his time and talent and devoted time to First United Methodist Church, where he had been a member his entire life. He was also a life member of the Panhandle Plains Historical Society. Survivors include his godchildren, Shawn Stephens of Houston and Brent Stephens of Amarillo; many lifelong friends; and special caregivers, Diana Mende, Kimberly Henderson and Susan Hawk. Except for a brief time when he worked for the telephone company bringing service up the West Coast, he spent his life working ranches including the Rafter O ranch, Tom Green's ranch, LS ranch and Mansfields, all in Oldham County, and Montgomery ranch in Crowell. Over the course of his life he managed the HH ranch near Magdalena, Pacheco ranch near Clayton, N.M., and RB ranch near Crowell. He trained cutting horses on the Binford ranch and broke and trained many good horses for himself and other individuals. He rode broncos in Pierre, S.D. He was a talented artist and guitarist. He married Sharon Harwell on Feb. 27, 1954, in Tucumcari, N.M. Mr. Mays served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne. He worked for GTE telephone company for more than 35 years. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 29, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere Fred Maddox McHam TYLER - Fred Maddox McHam, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Harrison McLeod officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum by Memorial Funeral Home of Tyler. Mr. McHam managed movie theaters for 50 years. He served in the Army Air Corps. Survivors include his wife, Jane; a daughter, Evette Gentry of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandsons; and a sister, Anne Kent of Lufkin. The family suggests memorials be to Christ Episcopal Church Music Ministry, 118 S. Bois d'Arc, Tyler, TX 75702.
