Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. There will also be a memorial service March 24 in the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens in Austin. Mr. Green, who was formerly of Amarillo, died in a tragic accident near his home outside of Rice's Crossing. He was the only child of Gary and Dorcas Green of Austin. Mr. Green graduated from Westlake High School in 1995 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He was the founder and co-owner of American Bankcard Systems. Phillip was an intelligent, handsome, outgoing young man who was the light of his parents' and his wife's lives. Survivors include his wife, Michelle; his parents; his grandmothers, Louise Cagle and Bette Bolt; his grandfather, James Cagle; two half brothers, Gary L. Green Jr. and Larry D. Green; five aunts, Elaine Lacy, Jan Smith, Cindy Whitfield and Lana Green, all of Amarillo, and Joan Green of Tulsa, Okla.; five uncles, Don Green, Paul Whitfield, Steve Green, Chuck Smith and Will Lacy, all of Amarillo; and numerous cousins. Hughes St. Mr. Gardner was born Nov. 19, 1928, in Clarendon, the third child of 13. He attended public schools in Clarendon and later served in the Navy. Survivors include one son, Aldwyn Gardner Sr. of San Antonio; two daughters, Barbara Lynn Thompson of San Antonio and Franceal States of San Bernadino, Calif.; three grandsons, Aldwyn II of Denver, Thomothy Gardner of Dallas and Derrick Thompson of San Antonio; four granddaughters, Danna Sai of San Antonio; Quionna Thompson of San Antonio, Toni Weir of Adelatoi, Calif., and Shantai Burton of San Bernadino; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maudie Jones of Amarillo, Bessie Carter of Lawton, Okla., and Carrie Fuller of Fairfield, Calif.; and three brothers, Manzelle Gardner of Amarillo, Willie Gardner of Dallas and Lawrence Gardner of Dallas. Mrs. McFadden was a lifelong resident of Harvard, Ill., until moving to Miami in 1999 to live with her daughter. She was a homemaker. Amarillo Globe-News, March 13, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Pigg Quitaque - Jack Pigg, 76, died Friday, March 12, 2004. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Fairmont Missionary Baptist Church near Quitaque with Arnie Smith and Gary Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Grey Mule Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Pigg was born July 25, 1927, in Quitaque. He was a lifelong resident of Briscoe and Floyd counties, and was a retired trucker and farmer. He was married to the former Johnnie Baker on Dec. 19, 1947. He was a veteran of the Army, a member of Fairmont Missionary Baptist Church and active in the American Ag movement. Mr. Pigg was preceded in death by a son, Roye Dale Pigg, in 1998. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Clayton Pigg and wife, Donna, and Glyn Pigg and wife, Jennifer, all of Quitaque, and Clinton Pigg and wife, Joanie, of Turkey; three daughters, Jackie Sperry and husband, Terry, and Leslie Jasper and husband, Stephen, all of Quitaque, and Janinne Brooks and husband, Bill, of Silverton; a daughter-in-law, Mary Pigg of Quitique; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mahanay, 83, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Bartel, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Mahanay was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Honey Grove to George A. and Lona Mae Bynum. She spent her early years in Childress until moving to Pampa in the late 1930s. There she met Daniel Benjamin Mahanay, and they were married Dec. 19, 1942, in Denver, where Daniel was stationed at Buckley Field. Mrs. Mahanay died in her room at Odyssey Hospice of Amarillo with her daughter Katie Gunter and son Dan Mahanay at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five sisters, Corine Bynum of Direct, Vibert O. Bynum of Texas, Veola Jones of San Diego, Aurillian Cates of Childress and Lorene Johns of Artesia, N.M.; and one brother, Nolan R. Bynum of Palestine. Survivors include two sons, Danny Lee Mahanay and Wiley Michael Mahanay, both of Pampa; one daughter, Lona Kathleen "Katie" Mahanay Gunter of Garland; two grandsons, Jeremy Andrew Gunter and John Daniel Gunter, both of Garland; and three sisters, Ira Haugen, Mildred Komaroski and Arell Brookoff, all of California. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hartville Cemetery in Hardesty, Okla. Arrangements are by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma, Okla. Mrs. Hamilton was born July 26, 1918, in Gray, Okla., to Ray Tindle and Emma Ragsdale Tindle. She graduated from Hardesty High School in 1937. Mrs. Hamilton married Beacher Crawford on May 2, 1940. Following his death, she married Rentie Hamilton in Stratford on March 15, 1967, and moved to Texhoma from Hardesty. She remained in Texhoma until moving to Coldwater Manor in June 2001. Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by Beacher Crawford on April 28, 1963; Rentie Hamilton on Oct. 26, 1988; her parents; and one son, Bobby Joe Crawford on April 28, 1948. Survivors include two sons, Mac Crawford of Texhoma and Ernie Crawford and wife, Gerry, of Bosque Farms, N.M.; three grandchildren, Troy Crawford, Keith Crawford and Jason Crawford; and two great-grandchildren, Kersten Crawford and Konrad Crawford. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Les Hall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Moscow Cemetery in Moscow, Kan., by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Starr was born Aug. 20, 1937, in the Indian Hospital in Claremore, Okla., to Willie Lasley and Ruby Bolden Seabolt. Doris went to school at the Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte, Okla. She then went to Satanta, Kan., and later graduated from high school in Moscow in 1956. On Nov. 1, 1956, Doris married Billie D. Starr in Perryton. Mrs. Starr was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Starr was preceded in death by one brother, Lynn Seabolt, and her father, Willie Lasley Seabolt. Survivors include her husband; her mother, of Hugoton, Kan.; two sons, Billie D. Starr Jr. of Stillwater, Okla., and Cody Sequoyah Starr of Shattuck, Okla.; two brothers, Billy Seabolt of Tulsa, Okla., and Loye Seabolt of Big Cabin, Okla.; three sisters, Wanda Bean of Moscow, Sadie Breuer of Borger and Dee Rayl of Hutchison, Kan.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Graham was born Sept. 20, 1944 in Midland, Texas. He was pastor of Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas, for five years. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn G. Garner of Canyon, Texas; two sons, Byron Graham of Savannah, Ga., and Bradley Graham of Canyon; one brother, Thomas Graham of Alleyton, Texas; and two granddaughters. Arrangements are by Elliott Mortuary of Hutchinson. Mr. Purcell was born Feb. 17, 1923 in Burrton. He married Jayne M. Koepke on Sept. 24, 1949, and served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife; one son, Tony of Denison, Texas; one daughter, Marji Purcell Gates of Palatine, Ill.; one sister, Clara M. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery in Spearman by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mr. Allen was engaged in farming, retiring in 1974. He served several years as under sheriff for Texas County. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Wilson of Crawford, Barbara Rapp and Jane Whitford, both of Guymon; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
