Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Independence Cemetery in Vinson, Okla., with the Rev. Joseph Andrajack of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Powell lived in the Amarillo area for more than 60 years. She married O.T. Powell on December 12, 1944. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. To her, family was the most important part of her life. Mr. Casteel married Willie Faye Johnson on Nov. 30, 1928, in Mountain Park, Okla. They had been married for 75 years. He worked as a service station attendant in Amarillo for 35 years. He was preceded in death by two sons, Albert Dale Casteel in 1936 and Avin E. Casteel in 2002; and two daughters, Billie Jo Casteel in 1997 and Betty Jane Casteel in 1994. She played varsity basketball in school and earned a basketball scholarship to North Texas University. She married Willie Clair "Bill" Cullison in 1933. She worked for Draperies by Bea for more than 25 years as a seamstress. She was a member of House of Prayer in Sayre, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; a daughter, Wanda Huddleston; two brothers, Carl Jarnagin and Roland Jarnagin; and a sister, Hazel Taylor. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. James E. Garrett officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Torbert was born in Arkansas City, Kan., and raised in Canadian. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from West Texas State University. After graduation he worked as the news director for KGNC. He married Beverly Beck on June 30, 1956. They moved to Clovis, N.M., in 1967 where he was the owner/general manager of KICA Radio and vice president and director of KGRT, where at the time, the sale of the station involved the largest transaction of any radio property in the history of Clovis. He was a partner in the advertising agency of Torbert, Torbert and Associates and was a co-owner of the Natural Food Center of Clovis. He was a member of the Committee of Fifty. He moved to Topeka in 1981 and was general manager of WIBW AM and FM Radio - The Kansas City Royals Network. In 1986 he moved back to Amarillo to work for Berneta Communications and was owner of Abbe Monogrammed Mascots T-Shirt Co. After his retirement he worked part-time as a substitute teacher for the Amarillo Independent School System. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Saint Paul United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Perry Hunsaker, associate minister, officiating. Mr. Pendlebury was born Nov. 19, 1938, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Neeland and Artie E. Pendlebury. He retired from the Air Force after serving 20 years. He loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing and sailing in the gulf. He also loved rock hounding. He was Past Exalted Ruler BPOE of Blackfoot Elks Lodge 1416. He married Laura Smith on June 23, 1972, in Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Stevens Pendlebury, and by his mother and father. Meyer Sr., 64, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 13, 2004. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with the Rev. G.A. Roach, of Northwest Texas Healthcare Systems, officiating. Mr. Meyer was born and raised in Amarillo and was a graduate of Amarillo High School. He attended Amarillo College and was a graduate of Texas Tech University. He married Charlotte Whiddon on June 7, 1963, in Amarillo. He was a physicist for many years, working for the Bureau of Mines in Spokane, Wash., as well as Amarillo, before going to work for Pantex in 1977. He continued his work for Pantex until the time of his death. He was a brilliant inventor who wrote six different patents. He was also a very loving husband and father. He was a Christian man who had the honor of leading many souls to Christ. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jeni Meyer of Amarillo; a son, Tom Meyer Jr. of Amarillo; and his dog, Bogie. Mrs. Roseberry was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Denison to Philip L. and Margaret B. Reppert. She moved to Amarillo with her parents in 1926, where her father established the Reppert Lumber Co. and built many homes. She attended public schools in Amarillo, Westlake School for Girls in Los Angeles and graduated from Wellesley College in 1941. She was married to Charles Field Wetherbee and had two sons, Charles F. Wetherbee of Jourdanton and Philip L. Wetherbee of Plano. She was remarried to Robert L. Roseberry in 1953. She was employed for many years as a medical technologist at Northwest Texas Hospital and then taught piano until her retirement. She was a member of many local music teaching organizations in Amarillo and was voted Music Teacher of the Year. She was active in P.E.O., serving as president of Chapter Z three times. She volunteered as a mentor for school children and established a scholarship at Amarillo College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Roseberry in 1992. Survivors include her two sons; a sister, Ann Reppert Rosenberg of Monterey, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Katharine R. Burial will be in Cave Creek Cemetery in Vinson, Okla. Mrs. Hurst was born Nov. 24, 1911, to William Henry and Cecil R. McCain Pence in Vinson, Okla. She married James Jerry Hurst on June 3, 1935, in Vinson. A longtime Wellington resident, she was a clerk for Ace Lumber Yard and for Sam's Flooring Co. She also worked for Badge Duncan and helped her husband bale hay. Later in life, she was a homemaker. She gardened and canned goods just to give them away. She was a Methodist. "Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates." Proverbs 31:31. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; a son, Jerry Edd Hurst in 1989; a granddaughter, Carla Mynear in 2003; and four brothers, Clyde Pence, Everett Pence, Floyd Pence and Emery Pence; and a sister, Lorene Bailey.
