Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Thrasher was born March 3, 1938, in Perryton and was a longtime resident. She married William Thrasher on July 15, 1956, in Perryton. She worked at the Methodist home in Waco as a house parent, retiring after 10 years. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002; and her parents, Miles and Odessa Edwards. Survivors include four daughters, Milene Thrasher of Dallas, Kari Kosler of Marietta, and Shannon Thrasher and Kenda Morgan, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gill was born July 13, 1934, to William David and Maureen Jones in Los Angeles and grew up in Dallas. She graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton. She married Charles Gill on June 1, 1957. She had lived in Panhandle for 40 years. She taught in public schools for 32 years in Dallas, Spearman and Panhandle. She was actively involved in First Baptist Church of Panhandle, Panhandle Mental Health and Mental Retardation and in several other local organizations. She will be missed by all those who knew her as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher and friend. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kent of Austin and Keith of Leesburg, Ga.; two grandchildren, Kyle and Kendall of Leesburg; and a sister, Wileen Trippe of Denton. She worked as a medical clerk at Childress Regional Medical Center for 20 years. Mr. Martinez was born in Oceanside, Calif., on April 30, 1952. He worked as a Department of Public Safety State Trooper. Mr. Martinez served with the Marines and the National Guard. He was a member of several law enforcement organizations. He married Sue Casas on Feb. 17, 1973, in Vernon. Amarillo Globe-News, March 18, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vaughn "Jum" Price Vaughn "Jum" Price, 79, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 14, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in San Jacinto Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Coffey and the Rev. Dale Moreland officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Price was born in Fayetteville, Ark. He graduated from Mountainburg Arkansas High School in 1943. He helped on the family farm. He served in the 6th Mechanized Cavalry Reconnaissance in the Army during World War II. He served in the South Pacific in New Guinea and the Philippines, where he received a Bronze Star. Their unit had over 200 days of continuous contact with the enemy. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a sergeant. He then came to Amarillo where his parents had moved. He married Ramona White of Panhandle in 1949 in Clovis, N.M., and they had celebrated 54 years of marriage. He worked as an instrument fitter and pipefitter on construction jobs through Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 196 for 57 years. He was co-owner of Circle Square Diamonds Real Estate. He was baptized in 1954 at San Jacinto Baptist Church, taught 12-year-old boys Sunday school and was assistant Sunday school superintendent. He was a deacon. He was a member of National Watch and Clock Association, Panhandle Good Chimers, and of Chapter 80 of Five State Collectors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucy Price; a sister, Elizabeth McGahey; a brother, Donald "Bud" Price; and a granddaughter, Angela Price. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen L. Price-Novak of Amarillo; two sons, Vaughn Douglas Price and wife, Mary Anne, of Seattle, Wash., and Vernon Daniel Price and wife, Kandy Anne, of Amarillo; two sisters, Jeannie Price of Ware Memorial in Amarillo and Lois Loveday of Mexia; eight grandchildren, James Novak, Jason Novak, Robert Price, Anne Marie Price, Lindsey Price, Emily Price, Robin Price and Scott Price; and five great-grandchildren, Nichole, Candace, Devin, Braxton and Kimberlyn. Mr. Carrigan was born March 10, 1952, in Fort Worth. He was raised in Abilene, where he graduated valedictorian from Central Catholic High School in 1970. After attending the University of Texas in Austin, Pat was controller of several companies including Bandera Energy, Roberts Business Service and All Direct Mail Services. After moving to Amarillo, Pat worked for Indian Ink Leasing Inc. and most recently Java Services. He was also very involved as an independent adjuster for various insurance companies. He married Barbara West in December 1991. He was a wonderful son, father, brother and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Carrigan in October 1969. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Ruth Carrigan of Amarillo; two sisters, Marsha Buchanan of Las Cruces, N.M., and Colleen Dryden of Amarillo; a brother, David Carrigan of Amarillo; four daughters, Amanda Pearce of Amarillo, Chasity Pinson of Trinity, Melissa Doan of Wooster, Ohio, and Tanya Zeigler of Willard, Ohio; three sons, Christopher West of Anchorage, Alaska, Jimmy Patton of Melbourne, Fla., and Darrel Brown II of Wooster; 14 grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Fox was born and raised in Viequez. He joined the Army, served during World War II and was discharged in 1947. He married Mary Martinez in 1946. They moved to Amarillo where he was one of the founding members of GI Forum. He was a mechanic for Ryder Truck for more than 30 years before retiring in 1984. After retirement he worked for Dallas ISD as a bus monitor for handicapped children. Mr. Fox was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 24, 1980. Survivors include two sons, Tony Fox of Murphy and Leo Fox Sr. of Seagoville; a daughter, Emma Romero of Amarillo; two sisters, Juanita Fox of Aquadilla, Puerto Rico, and Aracelis Fox of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Sandoval of Amarillo, Leo Fox Jr., Hugo Carillo and Alex Carillo, all of Dallas, Manuel Fox II, Randy Fox and Daniela Fox, all of Seagoville, and Trevor Laswell of Murphy; five great-grandchildren; his companion, Dora Luna of Amarillo; and her children, Glen Kirk, Tony Sustaita, Bobby Sustaita, Joe Sustaita and Anna Martinez, all of Amarillo. Mr. Hill was born May 21, 1914, in Mississippi to Mr. and Mrs. D.S. Hill. His family later moved to Canyon, where Mr. Hill was raised and attended school. After graduating from Canyon High School, he then moved to California, where he worked for Howard Hughes Aircraft Co. for many years. He then returned to Canyon, where he successfully farmed and ranched until his retirement. He married Addie Lambert in 1989. Vic was a member of First Baptist Church in Canyon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally, in 1984; and four brothers, Sam, Elon, Fairy and Ishmael Hill. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Forest Hill of Amarillo; three stepchildren, Lenora Holdeman of Perryton, Lynda Dresch of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carrol Blackwell of Lubbock; seven stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
